Last cod game I bought was BOps on the 360, and I own cod 1 on pc which started many trends, some which are dead and some which would become formative to modern gaming. None the less the series abandoned their roots long, long ago.
This one is a blatant step down if you're paying any attention. Criticism isn't making more people buy the game though

I'm simultaneously glad and horrified that rubberbanding in a singleplayer game exists, because I had that exact problem in Battlefront 2 2 and everyone kept telling me I was bullshitting and that rubberbanding in singleplayer games just doesn't exist.

Yep. The frequency that people will try to gaslight you, no matter how innate or stupid the topic, is frightening.
It's because the blown up truck/vehicles can mess with the physics engine when they collide with too many other objects, which can make things lag even in a single-player game because phyiscs have difficulty of catching up with the players actions while being bogged down by some glitchy vehicle.
I too had singleplayer rubberbanding, specifically on modded minecraft

I love how they did this whole scene with them being all meticulous to sneak in a 3d printed gun (which still wouldn't work btw, TSA won't let you bring on random pieces of metal) and then they somehow have a whole ass bomb on the plane too

Also, I saw a few ADs for MW3 during the last month and they were all about the multiplayer and by what I saw, targeted to people that played years and years ago. I don't believe they care about the campaing at all, they slapped one on this game because they need to check that box, but their focus here is the multiplayer and selling skins I guess

So anything campaign now is not to please you, but is just to lure you buy Multiplayer.
I don't think there's been an interesting (not good, just interesting) call of duty since Black Ops in 2010. MW3 felt pretty much like a generic rehash of 1 and 2.

Has Activision ever heard of fucking compression? 152 GB is absurd. They ONLY thing they've done in like a decade to combat huge install file sizes is allowing you to split the campaign, MP, Warzone up as separate downloads. That's not enough though. I really hate how they renamed the MW series as the identical names of the previous games. Ridiculous.
Sadly it's a common practice nowadays ( mortal kombat 1?! being a recent example ) and as for the size its gotta be the 4k pre-rendered video files thats ballooning everything up.
I think a lot of the older players that played the game on 360s have left the franchise a long time ago, that’s why indie projects regarding COD was gaining so much attention,micro transactions have ruined this game , 8, I miss season passes
I quit buying new ones after the first MW3 and when that one died I just switched to counter strike.

Cod WWII was an awesome campaign. IMO, it was a great modernization of the early 2000s WWII shooters I grew up with. Obviously a bit cinematic and campy, but that's cod in it's finest form imo.
Cod WW2 is a mixed bag for me. On one hand the story is really good and emotional but on the other the multiplayer makes me want to blow my brains out
@UnemployedStormtrooper I never even bothered trying mp, but the single player campaign was, imo, unmatched. It did for cod sp what mw2019 did for mp. The music is on par with MOH, and sure it's not the og wwii cods, with its multiple angles, but the story is cinematic and feels like what they wanted to do with ghosts. A cod campaign that was just a big war thriller.

HOLY SHIT! The Medal of Honor Frontline music. Operation Market Garden is the best music. Brings a tear to my eye between the composition and the nostalgia. Renn should do a video of MOH FL, or a big special on all the WWII games of the early 2000s

They could have copy pasted the original mw3's campaign and we wouldve been less dissapointed than we are with this. I feel bad for Sledgehammer, they obviously have been shafted by activision on this one. I hope with the Microsoft aquisition we will have better titles coming in the future.....but i wont hold my breath.

I enjoyed the part about you shrinking your window of availability to produce the video to connect with the developers also being put under similar strains. It gave this video a bit of a unique identity when the product you are reviewing makes that a challenge.

I can't believe that out of all of the cod games for the past 7-8 years, this is the one that everyone is suddenly wanting to boycott. I stopped playing cod after bo2 released because I knew it was getting worse. I've observed every cod release since, and finally, after many years they bring back all of the maps people have been asking for from mw2. People have been asking for this for a longggg time. And now this is the game everyone decides to boycott and is the "last straw"? The cod community is definitely out of their minds. Ya'll should've done this when cod ghosts released at the very least.
The whole situation really sucks. I won't pay $70 for a video game out of principle. It doesn't matter how much content the game is filled with, games just simply aren't worth that much. Every AAA game has been getting worse and worse over the past decade. But yeah it's just so mindblowing to me that this is the game that everyone decides to boycott after all these years, when I know for a fact most people wanted to play highrise, skidrow, favela, etc in a refreshed version of mw2.

I’ve played the og mw, bo1, mw3, bo3, mw19 and now current mw3. I think the best way to go about it is wait a few months, do a bunch of research, decide if the current game is right for you, then play it for a few years. I understand for pc players it might be a little tricky with the cheating though. I wish the cod community would flood 1-4 year old games that were the eras high point instead of flocking to the new one every year. The devs stop maintaining old games because it’s easy with everyone on the current.
I quit buying new games after the first MW3 came out. During development of that game, Activision fired the entire Infinity Ward studio because they didnt want to pay them their royalties for MW2 which made massive amounts of money. That is the day cod died. Its all downhill from there.
I played MW3 for a few years until it died and then switched to CSGO. Havent looked back in 8000 hours.
They wanted to boycott it because the very last cod was bad and the nickmercs thing. As someone who didn’t play the older cods, these maps aren’t goods and are too big and made for fast movement.

The worst part of all this is that they were supposed to take a break from the annual release cycle. MW2 was supposed to be around for two years, but Activision got greedy (apparently because MW2 didn't sell as well as they had hoped) and instead of keeping the game updated with content for free, they decided to charge people 70 dollars and call it a brand new game. A truly disgusting approach which I hope will result in even bigger losses for them.

Literally this was the result of executive interference. The devs had a vision for the next COD and the execs shat all over them. Then the execs had the devs do basically an executive's "Homercar" microtransaction-farming wishlist idea of what COD should be, rushed on a terrible deadline instead. Several of the devs said they felt betrayed by the execs, especially after being promised a reduction of crunch & overwork. (The dev cycle on this trash was brutal!)
