You guys are doing a great job here- on the whisky, the dialogue, and the family values. Really enjoy this Channel. Thanks.
Love that you gift your dad bottles. You're a good son. 👍
First off, when my daughter was little, if I took a bite of her food, I told her it’s to make sure it wasn’t poison. I still do this to my husband of 35 years 😂. Secondly, great work gentleman. Enjoy seeing both of you tasting together in front of the camera! I now know about Bouryes!
Thank you Elisa!
Just got a bottle of this from my local store today. Thanks for the review I can’t wait for the day I decide to have some!
Excellent!
Always a great show, guys! Congrat! My favorite whisky review show!
I make my own Bourye from Wild Turkey 101 Bourbon and Rye... it is pretty nice.
Ahhh nice!!
Great review. I had a sample of this and while I liked it, it wasn’t worth to me the 200+ price tag. That said, if you’ve got a master’s Keep collection, I can appreciate the desire to have it
Quickly becoming my favorite whiskey tube channel. Purely enjoyable viewing. Come to Chicago for a meet up!
We need to do that!
@Trenton. I also tend to steer to some odd flavors like medicinal or luden cough drop. Same on rye's on locorice or anise and even pine. One example is Calumet Farms 16 I get that same type of medicinal cherry note. Master's keep sounds great!
I'm loving the duo guys! I'm a big fan of WT but Rare Breed is about as much as I can afford in the WT line.
RR red label and Rye and spirit of KY are all good!
Rare breed rye now . I like the bourbon better. Both solid pours
Nothing wrong with that!
Never had or heard of a Bourye. I will have to look for 1 and try one. Thanks for enlightening me.
Oh wow. I do love the few bourye I have tried. Then this bottle came out so it is a unicorn on my list of bottles I am hunting this year. Glad you were able to find and review. thanks and cheers.
Great show guys! Just love watching the two of you together… Trenton is just so darn cute! And what a nice gift he bought for his Dad. Can y’all talk Mom into coming on the show one time? Love WT but don’t know if I’d be brave enough to splurge for that price tag but now I’ve learned what bourye is! 🥃
Getting mom on camera would be a big surprise if she ever does!
Gotta say love watching your videos. My dad and I both do the same thing as you minus the whole CZcams videos haha Great bonding experience for father and son if you’re into bourbons. So thanks for entertaining us while we sit back and sip watching your videos. Cheers!
Glad you are enjoying with your family as well!
Great review and choice of bottles. Old WT is amazing and cool to find 😎. Gotta find me one of those Unforgotten’s.
Great video guys. Love the info. I can say that the $200 price tag is a turn off for me. I normally stay below the $90-$100 range. I find it hard to justify spending more than that on something I'll drink. That's not to say that I wouldn't do it for something very special but for now I stay below the $100 range. Again, thanks for the info.
Good work guys dam if that retails for 200 then I expect to find this next year for probably 300-350 seeing as master's keep One was 290 here in Australia but yep definitely looking forward to this release .cheers guys .keep up the good work
The two of you are great in front of the camera! Also love the respect for the mother of the family! Well done, guys!
🙏🏻 🙏🏻🙏🏻
I finally tried mine, and wow it was good. Your review was perfect and I had to watch it again !!
That's too funny Trenton! My wife did that all the time with our sons food. She called it the cooks treat.
Was able to get one. Saving for special occasion. Thanks for the review.
Nice! Enjoy!
KURT, TRENTON!!! Great video!!! I'm really loving Wild Turkey. This looks like it will fit right in!!! CHEERS!!!
Wild Turkey has been closed my last two trips through. Headed west next weekend…fingers crossed I can run by and pick up some of this goodness.
Great content as always, guys! Cheers!
Cant wait to try!
Such a fun episode! I'm seeing it around the $500 range in SoCal right now. Here's to visiting out there one day 🙏🏼
Hope to find one of these eventually, 🥃 guys 😁
Although I am a huge fan of Wild Turkey and the Russell family, I don't think I would spend $200 for this. I will keep an eye out to see if this shows up at my local bourbon bar and would like to try a pour of it.
$200 is beyond my budget but glad for others. Dig out those crispies and pay back your boy. ❤️
FYI, I remember back a long time ago I paid 42$ plus tax for Forgiven.
Wow, nice!
the background music was.............................................perfect
Nice job T.
Redwood Empire Lost Monarchy great Bourye for $30. Wild Turkey Rare Breed is still hard to beat for the price for WT products.
Great as always! I watch all your content and really enjoy it!! BTW, $200 is a little steep.
It is for sure.
This video poped up while I was editing mine! You beat me to the punch! 🤦
Lol mine will be out tomorrow or Wednesday.
Cheers buddy! Great video! 🥃
I saw yours as well! Solid per norm! Your a pro!
@@slbdrinks thabks buddy cheers 🥃
A side by side of Bouryes would make a good video. Don't forget to include Redwood Empire's Bourye. I saw it last week in Chicago for $29.
As did I! Not sure how or why, but seems the price dropped about $7-10 since the last time I bought it. Not something you see with bourbon these days. What a great Value!
Excellent show.
Nice! I’m still a sealed master keep 17yr. Batch 1
That awesome! Hopefully you will be able to enjoy that at some point.
Love the father and son bonding. ❤️
Enjoyed the video, guys!
Thank you sir! Appreciate all you do as well! A bit jealous at times also lol! Appreciate you watching!
This is just a random comment / thought / idea for a future video series. What about doing a series on best whiskeys with a particular nosing and / or tasting note? Tonight I was really craving something savory, something with a tobacco or leather or dusty note as opposed to something overly sweet. I went for my Russell's single barrel that has a nice dusty, slightly leathery note. Got me to thinking what are the best whiskeys with that kind of note. Of course some nights I do want something sweeter, but even then sometimes I want a nice caramel, brown sugar, or maple note. Other times a nice fruit note hits the spot. Or perhaps something more cinnamon spicy / baking spices. Etc... etc...
Great thought! You always have some great ideas!
@@slbdrinks Well you guys make some great videos! It's cool seeing you both having a good time with this common passion of yours and sharing it with the rest of us. Reminds me of the good times my dad and I have fishing together (except we're not creative enough to have a CZcams channel 😄). Awesome work guys!
Love the videos...I drink scotch..
But, you guys are like family..
Watch all your vids..
I do think the prices of American Whiskies are insane..
I need to dip back into some scotch soon. This year I haven’t bought a “splurge” single malt. I have bought a few 12 yrs and such. Really enjoying the Edradour 10 right now.
Great video review as always- thanks guys-like every WT product I’ve tried- not sure I’d ever spend $200 on any bourbon- love the channel guys!
On any ? Geezous gotta live man
The question is this bottle at $200 or High West Bourye for $75? Is this really worth a $125 premium for the drinking experience (not collecting)?
Understand your thought process. In all sincerity not to many whiskeys are truly worth 200+.
Very interesting show , did not know that about Wild Turkey.
Curt: Which specific Masters Keep did you previously find to be not up to their usual top tier nose and pallette? I am looking at buying their Cornerstone or the Decades release and am curious if either was the one you did not care for...
Last years titled One. Decades won our live show blind of all my master keep! The rye is super solid also.
Truly enjoyed this episode. Glad to see Trent in on the action. $200 is steep, in my upper limits of splurging, however, I respect the collection! Cheers!
It is creeping up there pretty high. The first few I bought were just over 100.
There’s a spot in my area that still has 3 bottles of the 2015 high west Bourye on the shelf for $60. Good stuff
I'd like a pour off that.... I had my first wild turkey in 30 yrs last week... It was 101 and it was delicious.... Trying to decide what to try next from them.... If i do find this Masters Keep... I wont be able to afford so that pressure off LOL. Maybe some Russell's
Great choice! Happy you enjoyed the 101!
I scored one of these Unforgiven this morning at Costco for $157! It's really good.
Nice!
When it comes to bourbon that I've not tried yet, this is where I come for reviews.
Does anyone have any thoughts on the Midwest Lee's Branch? just picked up a bottle and think its superb.
Haven’t had that one.
Happy Father's Day, Kurt! LOL 😆
Ya no kidding!
Think I saw a Master's Keep in a private store a while back, not sure what it cost, just that it was over my budget but you can add at least 25% to the price for the exchange rate.
Consumer decision . . . . for $200 I would prefer five bottles of Eagle Rare.
good video . . .
Can’t blame you.
Kurt, be on the lookout for the Robitussin getting shipped to Trenton...
😂😂
Yesssss!!! 😂
Love the channel! Would like your thoughts on highland park 12 year scotch
Always have the HP 11 on the shelf!
Do you own every Wild Turkey? I would love to see a review of them all.
I do have quite a few. I don’t have any Austin Nichols which were older releases. Would love to have one of those!
Massachusetts!!!
Hey where at in Mass did you see it?
Watching it now Kurt!! Can’t believe I missed this one. 🤦🏻♂️
All good buddy! I think you will love that bottle!
You know, technically the lost monarch from redwood empire is a bourye. It's one of my go to sips lately. What's your take on that one?
Probably best value on the shelf IMO always on my shelf a couple deep
Take pursuit united bourbon & there rye mixed makes a great blended bourye
Always have a bottle on hand. Absolutely love it.
Just bought a Lost Monarch. Looking forward to it. Can’t beat that value.
@@Robert.Sheard it took me a little bit to figure it out because I was putting it up against some high powered bourbons. Try it next to some Weller SR and it blows it out of the water
That bite out of your cinnamon toast was the Angels share Trenton. And Kurt, you missed out on some brownie points by not pointing that out.
Trenton must be the only boy because my mom used to make me cinnamon toast too! Not poisoned though...lol
Ha! We are a blended family but we have 5 kids all told. 3 boys and 2 girls.
How do y’all keep the alcohol safe for long term?
After you open it.
From the air effects to the alcohol.
From what I found if you keep it in a cool area but most importantly away from direct sunlight it does pretty well.
Well I lucked out and got 2 Forgiven bottles. A Mom n Pop store was closing down and the owner found 2 hidden deep in a shelf. Someone hid it there years ago and never came back. The store didn't turn over a lot of bottles so they sat there. Well I'm hoping to find a WT Unforgotten at retail price so I can compare them. I doubt I'll find it but who knows.
Great buy! Congrats!
You really should try Redwood Empire Lost Monarch. It’s a very good bourye
I need to find that one!
@@slbdrinks All the Redwood Empire offerings are really good and I can get them for about $38 but I have to drive about 50 miles and cross state line to get them.
Plz make video on Lee W Sinclair.
Saw an article on the Forgiven from 2014 which indicated the price was $50 (no idea if MSRP).
Thanks for the info!
that stomach sound was legit 😳
😂
Love the master keeps stuff and loved last years release myself. Just shows how subjective taste are.
Me and my Fiancé always taste test each others food and first words out of our mouths… just checking to see if it’s poisonous 😂😂
😂 his mom to a T!
$300 here in Perth Australia
Not talking crap but The younger guy looks like the kid from Jerry McGuire all grown up. Love the videos.
😂
The Forgiven bottle. It’s got some time on it since it’s been open. You ever revisit bottles that go bad on you?
Msrp was around $70 when it was out.
I'm hoping you get to try the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection 2022.
Here’s hoping!
Are you coming to CT/RI/MA ?
Hoping to make it to Sagamore at some point in Maryland.
Who does the shipping for Patreon? Do they ship to NC?
Trent runs that side of the channel. If our barrel pick partners will not send to NC we will for you.
@@slbdrinks sounds good to me, I’ll sign up! Cheers
What is a boo rye or blue rye?
It’s a blend of bourbon and rye whiskeys. If pronounced correctly which we didn’t do to well lol would be bourye.
4th---------->YESSSSSSS!!!!
Hi Tim!!
Used ta eat Smith Brothers cough drops like candy when I was a kid. Cherry ain't my thing ... at least not that kinda cherry ... if ya take my meaning.
I absolutely do!
If it was a bit less like 150 I’d jump but two hundred is just crazy to me for any alcohol. I can be happy with rare breed and 101.
Look forward to a Johnnie Walker review
So you’re sayin this is mine? Hahaha. Wooot. 😅😅
Is there any release worth $200? Absolutely. Not sure about this one yet but there are…
What is Bourye?
Cinnamon toast rocks
You know it!
You folks have a Discord?
Currently there is only a patron discord
Correct, Trent has one set up on Patreon.
is it worthy of a pumpkin pie pairing? 🤣
Now that’s the question! Lol
I haven't even seen a master's keep in 'the wild.' Not one of them. Would love to get a bottle but for some of us it's just never gonna happen
Sorry bout that.
BURR-Rye
Someone looks tired and it's not Trenton today.
Kid wears me out 😂
Are you guys on rumble
No just Instagram and FB.
1 - 750ml bottle of Wild Turkey Masters Keep Unforgotten, or 16 -1.75L bottles of Benchmark Old No. 8? 🤔
Your the wise one sir!
Drinking game: take a drink every time they say bourye
Noooo lol!
Y’all should have took some time to look around at some of the old liquor stores and there is no telling wat u could have found
I would like to try this, but it is way too expensive @ $400.00
Wonder how long I have to wait to get my hands on this puppy in australia, I have the full set and I'm worried one year they will only make it exclusive to you americans 😂
Sorry Braden!
Saw it for $179 here in Mass didn’t get bc i just not a fan of wild Turkey idk why 😢
Hey, mind me asking where you saw it? I've looking to grab one.
@@matthewjoyce1059 Teds Charlton MA
I just saw this in a store for $400, Which is probably reasonable compared to secondary.
Hard pass.
