    Making latte art is a fun extension of the joys of making coffee at home. However, the cost associated with getting a full steaming espresso machine can be a lot, especially if making lattes is only an occasional activity you do say when there are guests over. The Subminimal Nanofoamer Lithium is trying to change that, by creating a patented frothing system that promises latte art quality microfoam, out of a common handheld frothing form factor. Can the Subminimal Nanofoamer Lithium live up to it's latte art quality promises? Let's find out!

    Make sure you rinse the Nanofoamer screeen asap after foaming. The screen can easily get clogged. Easy enough to clean with a toothbrush, but it really helps if you rinse immediately

    I've been using this in tandem with my Picopresso for a couple of years now and I think its a great entry into espresso if you don't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a entry level machine and already have a pour over setup. Its also great for camping/traveling.

      Just used it for the first time this morning. It works, it makes really good foam in my first try. Just a bit pricey, but if it lasts for years, it’s a solid investment imo.

    Also, combining this with moka pot or french press coffee and decide you want to add creamer or foamy milk, it can be quite the ritual, but quite satisfying.

    I backed the first gen. Nanofoamer a few years ago and I've been using it ever since with my flair signature.
    There is going to be a automatic milk froth er device with the same technology as the nanofoamer. The kickstarter just ended I think, but I'm really looking forward for that. I'm planning on buying the flair 58 to upgrade my system in general, but still stay somewhat manual.

    All these built-in battery products are always doomed to have a forever death like earbuds. There's even a great solution available, if they can just power it up with a replaceable 18650 battery (or even 2) instead of a built-in one/AA batt option, Subminimal can save on overall costs in aftersales replacement. They'd get better customer satisfaction and their brand would gain more overall.
    Great video, I love the production quality.

  • @Harzexe
    @Harzexe Před 8 měsíci

    If you have a espresso machine with a steamer you won't buy it probably. But this device is more useful for people who don't have it and are making their coffee using moka pot or airpress I think. I'm using moka pot most of the time (and dripper osacionally) and I'm using a cheap milk froater that kinda works but it makes a lot o thick foam on the top that is too thick so it doesn't mix with a coffee at all but leaves too much milk on the bottom as well.

    Is this that much of an improvement over using a french press and creating foam manually that way? You're also getting "micro" foam from the screens in the french press as well.

    • @LifestyleLab_
      @LifestyleLab_  Před 4 měsíci +1

      This is significantly finer foam than that, yes. To get latte art quality foam the key is that vortex in the pitcher that integrates the air. The French press method is more a coarse frothing

      The frothing or the pouring?
      Pouring, having a nice wide mouth as a beginner is helpful. Literally TOUCH the milk as you pour it across the surface. You’re pouring across, not into, the base 👍

    I’m sorry but I have to know what “dry steam” is and how you make it 😂

    • @LifestyleLab_
      @LifestyleLab_  Před rokem +2

      Some machines introduce a lot of moisture to the milk by virtue of how their steaming circuits are designed. You can actually measure this by weighing your pitcher before and after steaming. Steam is a gas, not a liquid. It is dry. It only becomes wet again when it condenses back down, which poorly designed circuits will allow to happen before exiting the steam tip
      Ideally, a high quality machine will only introduce a small amount of moisture while still quickly and efficiently heating the milk.

    • @Jptg_76
      @Jptg_76 Před rokem

      @@LifestyleLab_ I hadn’t really thought about that, but it makes total sense! Now I’m wondering if single boiler machines can ever really make high quality dry steam, without sacrificing brew temp. Since the dry steam would have to come from a uniformly heated high temperature boiler.
