What I love about this is that, unlike a lot of the other PS1-styled indie titles I've seen, this one actually looks like a legit PS1 game. No excessive texture warping or super polygonal models - fantastic!

I found this game... honestly kinda wholesome. the cat level and the snow level particularly. and the sky level was beautiful
i loved the cat temple :) the monks are just.. vibing
I always liked the idea of LSD Dream emulator more than I actually liked the game. This on the other hand feels much more like a real game. Love it!

That game gave me some... good dreams, that were probably nightmares that my brain couldn't register.
Gods, even knowing the game would inevitably descend into nightmare, the very last line of dialogue is extremely ominous, in part because it's not a threat--it's promise and statement of fact. The game looks neat, especially for being done by one person in less than a month.

The literal last words of dialogue in this playthrough that start at 01:05:42. Even if that entity is lying, it's less that it's threatening you and more that it genuinely views your present refusal and your insistence to leave/wake as pointless in the end.
why do i prefer watching walkthrough of obscure indies rather than AAAs?

I get a weird but cool feeling looking at PS1 graphic with first person perspective that it's camera movement goes smoothly. Really different compared to actual PS1 FPS games, even if it runs on PC emulator.

Just played today, absolutely awesome. It's the perfect evolution of the original LSD idea, with all the absudity and weirdness included. And though it's a short game I really enjoyed it, I even finished it 2 times in a row
Really digging this channel a lot. Love the types of games you play, end up binge watching your videos whenever I see one I like.

This is a ps1 inspired game done right. Those models and textures, just the overall look made me feel nostalgic. I remember playing so many games that looked like this

I actually love how it emulates the PlayStation to the point it even has a fake boot up sequence. I legit had a rush of nostalgia when the game started up.

I think every game should be inspired by LsD haha. But this one looks super cool!! Love the almost Jumping Flash PS1 feel to it. Very awesome.
that snow level soundtrack is amazing
also the dev made a super nice 1 hour game by himself in less than a month and AAA studios struggle to pull of 6 hours with years of development, 500 people and millions of dollars. impressive af

I love how ABG approached the giant cat cautiously, with fearful respect. A chonk to be reckoned with.
The beautiful freedom of the Dreamscape is more of a home to me than anywhere I've been in waking life.
Words cannot describe how comforting and important it is to see visuals of the Dreamscape.

This game, although quite imaginative & creative, is pretty predictable. I just know from the very beginning that things will start out cute & harmless but later on delve into the horror side. But hey it's nice the developer remembered to give credit to their cat.

The music during the "Find the Figure" segment is just so hauntingly beautiful and bizarre. I can't really put into words how much I love it paired alongside the visuals of that segment.

I think this is a great game with some solid atmosphere and a fair bit of travelling, but I don't like how much the npcs tell you what to do. Dream worlds feel better when you have a bit more freedom, maybe even a moral decision to make.

A bit too linear, talky, and not quite eclectic enough to really emulate LSD (can you imagine spending 10 minutes in one place in that game) - but I really like the style and theming of each area. They seem well thought-out.

The form here is making the game not much relatable to psychedelia at all. Text dialogues just for the sake of "retro gaming" really kills the vibe; if you are tripping, you just don't read, things come to meaning in different ways. I could call this game oniric, but the game itself seems much more worried in being another PS1 style game than anything else.
That honestly seems like a limitation in the lack of time and voice actors more than a stylistic choice to me.

Hey I’m doing my art project on hypnagogia and anything like it, anyone have any ideas? I’d appreciate anyone helping me feel sane because I do feel like it’s a crazy thing to be focusing an art project on instead of the usual fruit and veg/ landscapes themes, although I would love to fit a landscape in what I’m doing!

Whenever people encounter the same thing over and over and there is no way to say that the eye-witness accounts are
simply anecdotal you have to use one of 3 major tactics:
1) ridicule: personal, direct attacks or indirectly through subversive schemes
2) give "natural" explanation for the phenomena that occured
3) give "medical" explanation for why the eye-witnesses claims are false eventhough
they describe the same or similar phenomena.
Its also odd that Author of this game and Joel G - who both deploy similar "aesthetic" designs
claim to be inspired by "dreams". But the theme is always antichristian: it always draws on "ancient greek Gods"
or somehing similar.
