    I currently have the regular cloud alpha's (without the 7.1 dongle). They're pretty good but have been thinking more and more about switching these with either the SHP9500's or the X2's plus a proper microphone. Would you say its a switch worth considering? :) cheers!

    Although the earcups of the headphones are made of fabric, the edge that attaches to the base is made of faux leather, so when the head is moved (even a little), not to mention eating, etc., while wearing the headphones, they make noises, creaking , crunching, quite tedious. There is definitely someone who will not notice it, but personally it bothers me a lot. But the main problem is setting up the headset. It's not as easy as with the Hyperx Cloud II (my previous headphones) - the sound at the beginning of the Alpha S is quiet and flat. Then you need to install an additional program Hyperx NGENUITY, where you can at least adjust the volume, but it may not be enough. I've tried various additional equlaizers, but they work (or don't work) differently each time. In any case, using and customizing these headphones makes me regret the decision to buy them. It would be better to have bought the same but new Cloud II ...
    Don't believe me - search reddit ... there are all these problems for very many users ...

    I’ll be getting rid of my revolver S for these. The revolvers are nice but they are heavy, the band springs wear out over time, the cord isn’t removable and becomes deformed at the base after awhile, and the headphone pads fall apart after like a year or so of use.

    Honest review after 3 days usage:
    I have been trying to get Alpha s for more than 2 yrs. Since the price was too high in my country I bought Sony xb-55ap earphone last year, hoping to buy alpha s this year 2021. I have used Sony earphones for more than 6months and alpha s for just 3 days now. I haven't changed the equalizer settings.
    Points-
    1) hyperx had slightly more volume
    2)Sony had better and more bass
    3) Sony is worth the price
    -sony = 30$
    -alpha s = 150$
    4) Both are built to last long
    5) While playing Apex both were same (7.1 is nothing other than boosting the volume)
    I thought headphones gives really different gaming experience. That's why I bought even though it costed me 150$. But this Is a big disappointment coz 30$ earphone was on par with it
    Ask me if u HV any doubts
    *If anything different is observed I will update this*

    for music use i dont think i like it, since it plug and play this headphone did not come with EQ setting/setup..what i can said it lack of bass..
    the sound is very loud, i need to lower it until 50% ..
    for all round use i prefer hyperX revolver S but for competitive shooting game this headphone is great!! the sound detail so nice~

    I dont know why people tests the durability with slow pulling motions when the dmg is mostly caused by chock dmg, not pulling open.... Shock dmg is the worst and most destructive dmg that can be done and will snap and break plastic and or metal more so than bending or w/e.

    I bought these and then returned them the next day. Quality of these headsets (coming from the opinion of an sound engineer) are probably some of the worst I have ever owned. Music and videos are barely acceptable but the second I started up any game the quality took a massive dive.

      Agree. I decided to buy these after watching positive reviews. This has got to be one of the worst headsets I have ever owned. The sound quality is absolutely terrible. It's bad for videos and music too, and even worse for gaming.

    Agree 7.1 is pretty bad on them, and even without it they don't sound as crisp as other headsets I have had in the past. I wouldn't buy them again. The build quality is nice, but I wouldn't give them more than a 6/10.

    Please help to decide:
    Steelseries Arctis Pro (wired)
    Or
    Kingston HyperX Cloud Alpha S
    I'll be using them for gaming but also for listening music. Also theres a lot of speculation of (both models) mic quality it doesn't bother me, what i need is max connectivity - able to connect to my smartphone, laptop and gaming pc. So max performance should be not only on USB but also on standard 3.5 mm jack.
    Where could i experience decent bass, lows mids and highs?

    • @PabsLives
      @PabsLives Před 2 lety

      Go for the Arctis without a doubt.

    • @aphexgaming1983
      @aphexgaming1983 Před 2 lety

      @@PabsLives Initially was obsesed with Steelseries Arctis Pro - minimalastic design and "for audiophiles" perk - "that reproduce Hi-Res audio out to 40,000 Hz, nearly double what most standard headsets are capable of (22,000 Hz).". Diggin' deeper found out these have serious design - durability flaws which are real issue if you are that planet-friendly person who like to use fav product really long time - 4 - 7 year. Also these are not friendly for the big heads :)
      Second selection was Hyperx Cloud Alpha S. Initially thought it was a serious upgrade (from Cloud Alpha) in all aspects from sound and mic to connectivity and convenience (cause it was released after several years after Cloud Alpha). But i was wrong - the sound or design did not improve at all, furthermore they added cheap gimmick - 7.1 surround (but im not 16yo anymore and find it more like useless) but ALSO made some serious functionality FLAWS (in 3.5 mm mode you cannot control volume directly on the line like you can do it on much cheaper Cloud Alphas).
      So finally i ordered HyperX Cloud Alphas (not S). Happy with it! These can sit on the head for 6-7 hour and feel no discomfort, sound is crisp and clear. Dual chambers is not a marketing trick - bass is epic (compared to all the headphones i had before). They are really damn sturdy, also perfect for gaming (at the moment i play Valorant). I believe they are decent for streamers and music listeners also.

      @@pro-vk2pd I can confirm. They are terrible for games like PUBG. I just bought them and they are useless. Why? That's hard to explain as I'm not a sound engineer and I also don't have the knowledge to talk about technical stuff. But the sounds you want to hear doesn't stand out and they sort of blend in with gunshots, more so than other headsets. The sound isn't crisp. It's mat, dull and low. I've had bad headsets in the past that resembles this one so you can only speculate if they buy the same cheap shit from China. Steelseries, Logitech etc. it's all the same garbage. I've come to the conclusion that it's better to use a table mic and good earphones like bose etc.
