I really enjoyed your in-depth review of these headphones. I ended up getting the cloud alpha and even though I've noticed some issues with the sound going out slightly when the cable is moved, I'm pretty happy with the choice. You went through every aspect of these headphones and I've watched this several times to get all of your information. Great Job and keep it up!
Holy how you have only this few subs and views, you present the materials in such an organized and clear way and presented them better than most of the review youtube channel out there do.
I love when someone besides me is obsessively overly specific on every little thing that is important to quality on headsets. Thank you for being so thorough! +1 sub!
Same, I returned 3 other headsets because of it
Finally, a extremely unbiased comparison. This video is great, keep up the good work!
organized, clear, to the point, and focuses on important differences for making a shopping decision.
more reviews should be like this
even though im a year late, thanks for the clear and concise review, reviews like this are some of the best content on youtube, keep it coming man
I dont leave comments on reviews, but this one I feel needed a comment since the video is concise and straight to the point. I also liked that you put your overview of them all first and then went into minute details on what they were like.
So many viewpoints and you covered everything but in short chunks. Loved it, you have a new sub 💪
This video gave me everything I was looking for! Thanks, man!
Just the review i needed ...deserves more views
Just to add something I learned from testing: the USB controller on the Cloud II did not work with the PS4 in my experience. So you'll have to adjust the volume levels in the PS4 settings. But the Alpha S controls including 7.1 worked perfectly on PS4.
EDIT: Cloud II USB card works on PS4 with a firmware update.
I watched many reviews and this one was the best and most clear
I've read that you need to update the firmware on the Cloud 2 for it to work on Ps4
@@KevinS-bz6xt sick
I use my alpha s on my ps4, i just plug the 3.5 jack in to the controller.
Dude, can you download the Razer software for EQing the HyperX headphones without buying the Razer headset?
A lot of useful info in a short video. Well done!
Great review man 🔥 this exactly what I wanna hear! You deserve more fans so I’ll start with a sub. Keep up the good work 👊🏾
Finally a review that is just constantly to the point and no beating around the Bush. I need to replace my Cloud 2, I was very close to getting the Alpha S, but after seeing the Alpha has a better mic which is important to me since I'm a console gamer, I think I'll go with that instead.
@Kiwami Kyuubi Corsair virtuoso has a vvv good mic too
Keep in mind though, the Alpha was connected to a dedicated sound card without the cheap and crappy sound dongle Cloud 2 and Alpha S come with.
You can probably still get a good experience out of those two headsets with a seperate DAC and Amp. Also disabling or adjusting the noise cancelling effect on the mic will make it a lot better
Who cares about the microphone it's not even that important it's about sounds like footsteps randoms suck anyway only point of a mic is If I have friends to play with
My cloud alpha arrived this morning, cost £25 grade B,really impressed with the sound signature,& that's coming from a disappointing penrose x user & plenty of open back headphones,i should brought one years ago,not tried it with my amp yet.
Cloud 2 good for ps5?
Damn man, this is one of the best reviews I've ever watched PERIOD. You cover great points clearly, give great advice and make what could've been a confusing comparison pretty easy to follow!
great review man, you are by far one of the best on the platform. keep this up!
Just a comment for the splitter part. Most laptops with only one jack have what is called a combo jack that works as both a mic jack and a headphone jack, so when you plug the headset in you just use the single jack and select the headset as the default speaker and mic option in your settings and your laptop will actually pick up mic input as well as drive the headphones. On these combo jacks a splitter is not needed, for this same reason a lot of these headphones can actually be used the same way on mobile devices as both headphones and you can even use the mic for calls!
My phone (Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact) only registers my Cloud2 when the mic is attached. Without mic, my phone doesn't even know something is in the headphone jack at all. 😂
On my old phone (Samsung S4 Mini) it works with or without mic, doesn't matter. Why the fuck is the 5 year older phone better? 😐
Amazing thorough review man. Answered all the questions I had!
Thank you man that was really helpful!!!!!
The way this video was done is so good, very quick and to the point while also being descriptive and helpful!
Good review, very detailed and got right to the key points that are important
Damn i like your review... It's better than any other reviews in youtube...
Love your videos man, thanks
Brilliant thank you very much for such a great work!
Thank you so much you are so helpful thanks again!
appreciate the detailed comparison.
Your review was by far the most helpful for someone who knows little about this. You saved me! Thank you!
absolutely amazing review, you deserve more subs and views! liked and subbed! keep it up bro!!!
Excellent comparison video. Thanks, man.
hell yeah man, my cloud 2's arrive friday. Thanks for the dope review man

Thanks for helping me decide
Really amazing review!
Thanks for the review.
Awesome video bro! Valuable information and presented very well 👍
Awesome review!

Wow. The cloud alpha microphone quality had a huge difference. That plus voice meter customization will sound amazing. Thank u so much for this information. I have find the headset.
Thanks for the review! Just ordered the Alpha from Amazon and didn’t realize there’s an S and nobody else reviewed the two , so I highly appreciate it. I’m using it with my Xbox Series S, so I don’t need all the extras and I think I made the right choice. Thanks again, man!
Hey, microphone also work on series s when you plug it with single jack cable to controller or monitor?
@@EndZee The mic plugs into the side of the headset, I don’t think it can plug directly into the controller but that would be kinda cool.
@@MadDogHoek23 its working on single jack, bought it few days ago. Sound quality is worse compared to cloud 1, thats because of these vents on side of headphones but overall yeah, not bad. Was hoping for better feeling but cant complain over it if i bought it on sale for like 35€
I bought my cloud 2 used from Music Go Round.. of all places. Out of all the headhones I used, I really like these because they are way comfortable and sound really good. For my amp, I use the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. Once I installed Dolby Atmos (trial) on my PC it's been killing amazing. Some other headphones I used prior are the Crossfade LP2, Philips Fidelio X2hr and the old school PS3 Pulse wireless headphones. I also use my very old Astro Mixamp once in a while just for fun, but I mainly keep it simple using my Scarlett. I don't really care much for the 7.1 amp cable.. I'll keep it in case I need to travel.. I don't know haha.
Thanks for taking the time to make this video. I always wondered if I was missing out by using the older Cloud 2.
Thank you for the review i ordered Cloud ii yesterday❤️
@@SIDLOKI do you recommend?
@@majd148 yea the headphones are so comfy...The audio quality is clean and 🔥...I'm also not facing any physical irritations while using it like head pain or something....The wire is too long which is good...And the headphones looks cool🖤
I use Dolby Atmos with my Clouds too! What preset do you recommend?
GREAT vid!!
The best review. thanks
Great thorough review👍👍👍
This is such a good clear comparison. You deserve much more credit.
With 140k views, that's good enough credit for me!
@@BadIntentStreamTechReviews I've been rocking my Cloud II for a while now. Super comfortable, I totally agree you can wear them for hours and just forget you're wearing them. I've removed the boom mic and jsut use a Solocast standalone USB mic instead. Such a great set up and my audio is on point.
Yo this was actually very helpful ….thank you
Great video man. Very useful, just bought the Alpha’s.
Very good review man
Great review man!
brother i watched all your videos as soon i discovered you, just want to tell you that you are doing an amazing job with this reviews. And 1 question, it would be amazing if you shared your equalizer settings for the cloud alpha S.
Take my sub for this epic review :)
Great video!! This is the exact comparison I was looking for, thank you. I ended up getting the Cloud 2 because Amazon had them selling for only $80, wired of course. Can’t beat that deal.
Nice find on that price
@@BadIntentStreamTechReviews i just got the gun metal version for 41 dollars brand new on sale from amazon
How is your headset now? I'm considering getting it because right now amazon is selling it for 56 dollars.
@@XYZ-ql1fi Still have it and it’s still great. I recommend it
@@redburn1990 Yes it's the same connection and you can use the Alpha cable with the Alpha S.
In the future could you not reply to 9 month old comment threads though.
wtf, this is the best review video i ever watched.. thanks bro for making this video, really enjoyed this...
Thanks for the info.
you had me on 'it is not good for music' part!
Lol this is an insane review, you covered almost every little part of these that a lot of reviewers miss out on. Incredibly thorough. Very underrated. I'd love to see you make a review on the Redragon Zeus, especially since I've heard people say it's really similar to the Cloud II
Your reviews are really nice, clear and straight to the point. Thank you!
awesome review!
Amazing video man keep it up!
Perfect dude ty for info's
Great video dude. I loved the depth, clarity and honesty for the review.
detailed overview👍
Great review
Good review thanks
Hey there, I watched your video a few times, so I can be 1000% sure that I will pick the right headset. You are the only person who actually compared the sounds from the earpieces of the three models and I was Able to chose my perfect One. I wanted a headset that I can use differently in gaming and for music. I bought cloud alpha s (Kingston). The sound card, even though doesn't amplify the sound that great, gives you the pitch and sound of steps that you need to hear. Especially in WARZONE 2. However if I put the headset without the card into my dj console the sound is amazing.... I mean d*mn. the bass is perfect not to laud not to soft. I think that If you put the 3.5 in your phone, it wont sound that great since the headset needs a bit better sound card, to be able to show the full potential. That aside I think your video was verry helpful and very precise for about 95 percent, of facts about those 3 models. I'm impressed the way you do your videos. I'm looking forward for more. And also thank you. I bought Razor Kraken with a sound card before HyperX. It was terrible i returned them. Awful sound awful bass, big as h*ll. Don't recommend it. Keep It real, Keep it Up
You deserve more subs. Excellent detailed review and I like your explanation of each.
I already have the CloudII and have used it for four years, I just needed to know if the Alpha had better audio quality.
The most important aspect to me is dialogue audio, I'm deaf in one ear and struggle with certain frequencies in the other. Just for clarification would you say dialogue sounds louder/clearer on the CloudII or the Alpha?
You seem to be the only person who has gone into this much detail of these headsets on CZcams. You've gained a new subscriber. 👍
The Alpha is more accurate in terms of everything being the right pitch/tone but I wouldn't say clearer. They're about even there. As for volume, the Cloud II actually got a bit louder on my PC.
So for dialogue specifically, I don't think it's really an upgrade. I'm going to be testing a bunch more headsets in the future, so if one stands out for dialogue better than the Cloud II, I'll cover it and let you know.
@@BadIntentStreamTechReviews uu
Your reviews are super helpful. I'm leaning towards the Alphas or Blackshark V2s, but I'm noticing a lot are better for FPSs. Do you have any reviews on headphones around $100 would you recommend for immersion?
Yeah I think most gaming headsets are lacking in bass for anything outside of FPS games. So far the best I can recommend is the Alpha and using an equalizer. I'll pick up some more headphones to see if I can find some that are great for immersion right out the box.
@@BadIntentStreamTechReviews Thanks for the help in general. U got a sub
Hey champion your reviews are amazing and the best out there 💯👏🔥 keep it up 💪 .Also i have just one question form you, would u give me the best program to iQ the hyper x alpha ? Like the blackshark v2 usb do?
Thanks, I use Equalizer APO with PEACE. It's a clunky interface that feels straight out of the 90s, but it works.
Dude You the best! I'll sub from all my accounts!
Nice vid!
What do you recommend for ps5 via controller , by the way the cloud 2 is the most expensive one here in amazon in my country imo followed by alpha s then alpha and yes which is louder between the alpha and alpha s via controller?
I have a regular cloud core and black shark v2x wired, you're right!!! basically hyper x is better competitive while razer a great for story, hyper x great for foot steps and accuracy while the bass on the razer looses a little accuracy but you can feel the environment with the bass, if there is a headset that good for both and that changes eq that would be great!!! Any recommendations??
very nice review, and you look very aerodynamic, nice.
Very great, thank you.
hi, ive just recently got the cloud alphas, and on discord and in gamechat, people do sometimes hear echoes and always hear static whenever the mic is in use. is it due to me having an older mobo and not using a soundcard or do you reckon its due to it being faulty?
Yo, I'm deciding between two headsets and I'm stuck between the Cloud Alpha and Cloud Core. They are both on sale right now but the core is a bit cheaper. I mainly play multiplayer games and listen to music. What is your opinion on them and which one do you think I should pick?
this guy is so HELPFULLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Because of this review i just buyed Alpha S because:
1. I had a pair for Alpha from 4 years, and they are old(you can see the foam), but i broke the cable and a good cable for headphones is pretty expensive; beside of this issue, the headphones are very resistant
2. Here(In Romania) Alpha cost 80$ and Alpha S are 50 $ at sale
3. I have the adaptor cable from Alpha (but i dont use the mic)
4. I use them daily and am very pleased
5. I wanted to switch to other headphones, but still from the same brand
6. Overall, if they are the same, and S is cheaper, why not?
Great job with this review and thank you!
help pls
1- what do u have when u disable the amp from alpha s and compare alpha vs alpha s without sound card the same audio ??
2 .i gonna buy one of these headsets
after i watch u i think the best way now
buy cloud alpha and but extra amp for it to thats way we will get the best audio and get 7.1 and chat ,mic future right ?
Great video
hello, does the mic of the cloud 2 echo when the volume is loud enough? or even when im in game? Sorry for bad english...
Nice review bro ❤
very good review
Man I liked the video really , but I've been through some reviews that says the cloud alpha sound is better than the cloud alpha s !!
Is that true ? If I am gaming and sound editing , and I got a separate mike , which headphone is better for my case , the alpha or alpha s ?
please help me.
Thank you in advance .
Thank you!
hey badintent im just wondering on your alpha s can you bass boost it in your system sound settings in your pc settings because im really debating on getting the cloud alpha or the alpha s so if you can plz respond and tell me if you can bass boost it in your pc system sound settings plz do
have you done reviews Coolermaster MH752? what do you think mh752 vs 3 hyperx headset which better?
Fantastic!
Considering using EQ software, which one is better for music with strong bass?
Thanks
Damn how is this channel only got 3k???
I haven't seen a comparison between cloud alpha s so I just wanted to ask if it's worth it to get the cloud II wireless or cloud alpha s since im not sure if i should go wireless or not
vary good review i think u should do mic testing on alpha and cloud 2 without the usb dongle
also same way u can tast for bass with win eq
I did in different videos.
Hey im just wondering, with the Alpha S can you plug the 3.5mm jack directly into my pc's motherboard or do i need a splitter cable to split the 3.5mm cable into a mic cable and a audio cable?
Hey BadIntent. Have ever did a test between Cloud II and Alpha S soundcards. Do these use same DAC and have same sound quality?
I haven't really done a lot of specific tests, but I can say as far as sound coming in, both the Cloud II and Alpha S DACs don't have a noticeable effect on the audio. But they both similarly make the mic quality worse. I plugged a few other headsets into the Cloud II and Alpha S DACs and the headphone audio quality was the same as normal, but the mics are always worse.
hey,i would like to ask about the ear cup dimension between alpha and alpha s ,is it there any diffrence?
Thank you very much for this review. Before your video my mind WAS made up for the Alpha S and I had already talked myself into it from watching reviews on the interwebs. You totally [in a good way] took the wind out of my sails. Now again I am not sure what to buy as the 7.1 was the selling point for me. Primarily FPS player and thought the 7.1 was a good thing to have?
What is on your head?
What do you recommend in the same price range of the Alpha S??
And thank you for your very good interpretation of virtual surround sound gave me plenty to think about.
Thank you once again.
No problem, 7.1 is one of those marketing gimmicks that's going to stay around for a while unfortunately. Companies are taking advantage of the fact most consumers don't bother to study/learn the difference between a real home theater surround sound setup and fake surround sound in headphones. Not really their fault though, people keep buying into it.
Currently, I use the Astro A50. It's the wireless version of the A40 which I also have. I've seen the A40 sale for around $130 lately but it's usually more expensive. The A40 is by far the best headset in its price range. Sound and comfort are top notch. You can use Equalizer APO for EQ or if you get the MixAmp, Astro Command Center to make your own presets.
You can buy it with the MixAmp and Mod Kit like I did, but those are not necessary and the price is overkill imo.
Hello! After watch your video, finally get the Cloud Alpha S (small price difference, more content in the box and being a revision gave me more confidence that the Crosstalk problem was solved), but i detect that when i pluging the headset directly by the 3.5 Jack i have to put the level of audio to maximum to listen as louder than my old headset (Krom Krush Zero) so... what i am doing wrong?
Maybe it's because the cable doesn't have a audio control in the jack 3.5 cable? Or because i put it the sliders in middle or low...? I am only tested the headset by Xbox One controller and Smartphone
And about compared with the regular Alpha... Do they sound the same to you both from 3.5 or from USB the Alpha S and from Jack 3.5 the Alpha?
In that case i would try to connect the USB to Xbox and see if it detects, but apparently it's not compatible, my idea was to plug in the TV by Jack 3.5, to use it in various consoles, it's doesn't mind me really much the microphone because i doesn't play by mic as i usually like I did in the past and it doesn't seem bad to me in the S, apart from that you can hear yourself with the USB
Apart from that, a specific question that maybe could you help me... I have Dolby Atmos in my Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G and when i activated, some songs sound really better, but others (like Doom OST for example) sound distorted... when is it recommended to activate the Dolby Atmos exactly?
Thanks in advance and great video
There are a lot of questions here, but let me try to hit as many as I can. Through 3.5 mm, both the Alpha and Alpha S get to the same volume in my experience. Both are not as loud as the Cloud II. The USB on the Alpha S doesn't seem to boost it any louder or change the audio quality. The impedence of both the Alpha and S are 65 Ohms and the Cloud II is 60 Ohms. The lower, the easier to power.
Lastly, I was reading on reddit that HyperX headsets after the Cloud II are made to be quieter on purpose due to regulations, but I'm not sure how true that is. Basically, Alpha and S don't normally get super loud unless you have an amp. They're about the same volume as most of the other headsets on the market, but not as loud as the Cloud II.
As for Dolby Atmos, it's really just because it's a filter. If you're listening to any stereo track (and with stereo headphones), your mileage will vary because the track wasn't really meant to go through that extra audio filter. I've used a lot of surround sound and Dolby Audio implementations, and I honestly don't like any of them.
What a video!! Usually i never ever hit a comment but wow! exactly the video I was looking for. Appreciate the honesty!!
Right now I have the HyperX cloud Alpha, which is a really good headset, just bought the HyperX cloud 2 because of the comfort and they cost me 59 dollars. You say that you hear the footsteps more clear wtih cloud 2, is it with 7.1 surround sound you hear them best or can you also hear the footsteps clear without 7.1? you mentioned that the bass goes low with 7.1 does it affect the footsteps? or do you hear the footsteps even better? because I want a headset for FPS Games and i think the cloud is to go for cloud 2??
I always keep the surround sound off. Footsteps stand out more in the Cloud II to me just because of the frequency response - unrelated to the virtual surround sound effect.
I'm on the cloud 2 PlayStation edition and I'm hearing fine
Planning to get the normal cloud 2 for Christmas
