So you mean to say… even if my android phone has 1000mega pixel ultra wide moon blasting recording ultimate it will still look like shlt on social media? Shocking
Yes exactly
Sorry to say yes 😑
But recently Samsung and pixel is trying to optimize their flagship phone but still there's a catch 🙂
@@liljaeger2k What catch?
@@shariqmusharaf8123 he means it still sucks
only if u record within apps
Just record the video or take the photo with your native camera app and then upload it to the social media. Done. Same quality.
it won't work for stories tho
Is the same quality on stories?
@@thebozbloxbla2020 i have the s9 quality still bad but they say s22 and s23 are doing better on social media
@@Maria-tj4tq i have s22 plus. I compared head to head Same with iphone 13. At least what i saw as former dslr photographer
Nope. The quality will be lowered down/compressed/converted into smaller sizes, resulting in a degrade of quality. It still looks good, but not as good as in the gallery

I have a pixel 7 but whenever I post videos on WhatsApp status, for some reason, it ends up looking like shit

@@NocturnalAnimal14 Nah, Samsung now uploads high quality video, because they "discussed" with Snapchat and Meta (probably involved money). My video quality is now on Par with iPhone users.
The WhatsApp stories from my friend with a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold phone have amazing quality and 60fps.😅
Amazing price too.
lmao WhatsApp compresses way too much to look genuinely good.
Ah, Interesting info... I'll try to compare the quality 3 of my old phone.. probably will bought this phone in mid 2024 🤞
Easy tip, take a photo on camera app, then share it from camera roll. Also i want to spread positivity, so have a great day ❤

If you're on android 8 yes, but the camera 2 API fixes it. Most social media apps just haven't adapted it.
ur wrong bcuz the s10 is still ugly on Instagram especially on stories
Oh, so it's another fud against android. Sad&low energy.
Yeah, and now CameraX API.
I think the problem is budget phone manufacturers. They have spotty access to their pre-installed apps, and probably don't support newer protocols well enough yet.
Actually, update: there's a video comparing the snapchat, instagram performance between s24 and iPhone 15. The quality is literally the same now lol.
I think this notion that Android "hardware" is the problem comes from people who have no clue how code works.
Please point me to the video@@arunkarthikma3121
I think the compression methods also have a role to play. Even when I use my Android camera, it still comes out bad sometimes
Some Androids get around this by using manufacturer-specific camera apps that send camera data to apps
This is why Android users use their native camera app and then upload the photo/video on Instagram/TikTok/CZcams.

@@TrixynFTW This video is just misinformation. Coding terminology has now become popularly misused by iPhone fans, thanks to MKBHD.
"Optimization" for example doesn't even apply to most apps, or games, which use NDK anyways. Apple just developed a beast of a chip, and people are shocked that it's THAT GOOD.
How come the M1 competes against Windows laptops, which run Native code already?
no apple pays apps
Definitely!
Huh, if anything Apple charges Apps 😭. They’re money hungry
@@cameronleerodriguezfacts I use iPhone and I hate used to hate developing apps because the fees lol, I wish they would pay me
Actually he's right but with exceptions, the Samsung S22 & S23 series, the google pixel 6, 7, 8 series are such great phones for social media photo/video recording bcz they totally support 3rd party camera apps, I used both of iphone 12 pro max and pixel 7 pro for social media apps and they're both doing great
Social media compresses images regardless and taking pics native on social media is not enjoyable either way
This was why I typically took photos and videos outside of the app and then upload them.
Significantly better results
Does that really work?

Imo these sm companies should be able to work with the flagship androids. I understand not working with every single android, but it shouldn't be that difficult to work with the flagships
exactly.. some samsung phones cost as much as iphone and paying so high amount users expect good quality
Fr... Android Flagship price is almost the same with Apples Flagship nowadays
I think flagships don't have this problem. Even my friends S10 from 2019 works pretty good on Instagram. I guess the problem is those budget phones
@@metsys7928 yeah, you're right, I used a note 20 ultra recently and there was a considerable amount of shutter lag and delay in lens switching. Good thing they fixed it, btw the lens switching and shutter is very smooth on Sony flagships
try edit the resolution to 1080 or 1350 to avoid compression
is there any app to do that
There are Camera2 APIs, Apple probably pays social media companies not to use them.
Yes
So how did an android won in MKBHDs video?
Android has more freedom then Apple, it can actually do this & even more.
Apple is more for kids, the OS basically hold's your hand while you walk across the street.
Everything you're talking about can literally be changed in developer mode/settings on Android, it gives you full control over the Android as if you're the developer yourself, so none of what your saying true.
This goes for all Androids!
The Apple cult is really some thing else huh. Sunk cost fallacy for paying too much money for over priced garbage. If you people only knew about how bad apples build quality actually is.

*Well the smart thing to do is to record or take pictures from the default camera app and then upload it to social media that way you access the full camera capabilities that comes with your android phone* that’s common sense
Is there any way for Android users to get a better quality camera?
Some of the newer phones have native camera support! i think the newest Samsung Galaxy/Note phones have support for them.
I heard that the Google Pixel 6/6 Pro are the best androids out there to be used in social media apps.
@@YourAverageTechBro you think the Pixel line will have/get this?
@@yulose9 lol not
The problem still persists for Samsung S22 Ultra
I love that old bold and brash painting 😂
This is absolute nonsense. Android HAL APIs connect to the underlying OEM drivers for the specific camera hardware. If you are getting bad video its because you have a crap phone with a crap camera or the OEM couldn't be bothered to update their drivers/HAL, you are just using a poorly written app.
so how come an s23 ultra sucks in stories and photos compared to Ip14pro
@@RK1FXThey don't lol, iPhone barely makes top 5 phone cameras and uploaded photos lack behind android
@@RK1FX Update your software, the app expects the newest HAL APIs and OEM drivers, and if those things aren't present, then it will go back to the screen recording of the viewfinder as a fallback.
@@RK1FX What are you even talking about? XEEETECH did a comparison video between s24 and iPhone 15, they're literally the same.
Also apple heavily compresses videos and pictures sent to and from android users, especially using messages.
You can improve quality of video/photo by recording/shooting it in camera app first, then uploading to social media. Also, social media apps have better built-in media compressing methods on iOS than android ones. (eg. WhatsApp)
Ohhhh, I've always wondered why sending a picture directly looked worse : T
One more thing:
Megapixels don't matter when it comes to social media. Instagram has a maximum image quality of 1350×1080 resolution. So even if your image is 4000×3000 (which mine mostly is), it will be compressed to instagram standards.
This is the biggest reason why apple was on 12 MP even when other manufacturers were on 108 MP.
But when the picture gets compressed you get more information what to have in one pixel.
@@Onako2 well yes but actually no. Zooming in on Instagram pic won't give as much details as zooming in on uncompressed bigger size (3000×4000) image...
Instagram did it on purpose
resolution is not related with what he says

How do I fix this when sending photos to friends?
Apple also tightly controls the market too, Meaning they most likely paid these companies to not optimize Android so that they have a reason to justify their insane prices
Whether they paid them or not, Apple still have better products than Android and it's proven since

The only time android phones will take good pictures is if it’s very sunny outside but it still will have that blurry fog like look to it
Would it work better if you transfer the photo to your pc and upload it on social media from there instead? Or would it make no difference? Also, if that's the case, does that mean that taking pictures on an actual camera (not a phone) and then posting it from your phone will lower the quality when you post it on social media? Or would you just post it from the pc? I apologize if my questions don't make sense, as I may be confused of some things.
Nah it's because apple pays apps to use their camera which make it look good and the "better phone" to make other phones look bad
Finally someone speak facts
Well im getting ready to get rid of my cell phone and go back to a house phone
I have iphone 12 and S24 Plus. Yesss this is correct. I use 12 if I want directly post it on social media. But for editing, S24 for sure.
Just use your phone camera instead of the camera in your chosen app. That's IF you get poor quality photos/videos. I would do that either way tho to be honest
I will take my Galaxy S20 Ultra 8K video over the horrible IPhone any day!
Android users can use native camera app and then upload their great quality video on Instagram.

Is there a way we can bypass the system please please please please please help
This is why you’ll see 99% of social media personalities using iPhone whereas in real life, there’s a lot more Android users than you’re led to believe.
I can't find the answer to why if I send a photo to an iPhone from my Android galaxy they look like absolute crap. But look aweosme on my phone. I can't send my family pictures but I can receive theirs. But sending and receiving to other android others look perfect.
Does this also apply to audio?
I thought it was SMS destroying the quality
There is camera2api for that but developers refuse to implement that. That's devs skill issue.

Yeah, this "optimization" myth is old and tired as heck. Tech bros, who don't understand programming keep perpetuating the myth, because they heard it somewhere else.
I had An iPhone se 2020, and it was really bad taking photos on social media, and that is a fairly new phone. I got an A20 after that and it took really good photos albeit only 1080p. Anyways, respect my opinion.
Iphone SE uses camera from 2016😂 its a budget phone.
A budget phone would be like an a01 core or something, or a blu phone. Just saying. Also, it uses the 12/7MP camera, unless you are referring to the iPhone se 2016 or something.
@@vikinnorway6725by iphone standards it's a budget phone indeed
... Why would you Record on tik tok? If you have the camera app
I only wonder why there is not a standard api for this. It shouldn't matter how many vendors are out there as android really work hard to hide low level libraries from developers.
Your next video should be why the iPhone display screen looks so bad as compared to the Samsung display screen.
If you felt useless remember this guy channel exits.
Solution: Use the default camera app and upload to social.

Another reason is that Android/Google blocks third party apps from using more than 30fps making the quality shit
He's not talking about high end android phones, like the Google pixel or S23 Ultra, he's Generally talking about Xiaomi, Huawei etc
Samsung.. Watching from corner with an angled eye..
So the high end specs from the highest end of Samsungs and Pixels don't matter when the footage looks shit anyways on social media. Damn.
How can we optimise our insta on our Android phone?
As a android user this is bullshit nothing makes sense
Eventho I am an Iphone user, But still some of the android phone have lot of better quality cameras, They can zoom lot of far away and still have better quality💀
There are a ton of crappy videos on social media because there are a lot of cheap and destroyed phones out there. Otherwise the Samsung Galaxy 2 was able to take decent video for social networks. Also i'm pretty sure apple has some deals with some companies to improve image quality.
what phone do you have?
But not for S23 ultra it supports the full clarity of camera they are saying it in the launch of the phone as first Android phone to support the full clarity of camera
Did ma man put a trash can below Bold And Brash Painting??! 🤯
So what you're saying is, apps have a skill issue

Samsung Galaxy RULES! Samsung had 8K video long before the iPhone. Samsung had replaceable battery (never availble on iPhone). S23 Ultra has 200MP camera compared to the newest iPhone measly 48MP. Samsung has USB-C charging -vs- iPhones STUPID slow and expensive "lightening" connector. Samsung phones will work with ANY smartwatch or other external devices; the iPhone is very restrictive and forces you to buy overprice options from Apple. iPhone is made by Communist-run semi-slave labor in Chinese sweatshops where Samsung is made in the free democratic nation of South Korea. MANY parts used in the iPhone are made by Samsung!
As a Samsung user primarily, I disagree...

In fact, I believe this hasn't really been true since Android 8 onwards. It's just that android video cameras, until the s22, s23 haven't been as good as iPhones, period.
As for photo quality, it has been equal, for a long time actually, people just accepted the "optimization" myth.
