Man I was raised in land-locked Wyoming (USA) and I was taught about rip tides in my PE class ... to escape never swim against the tide ... swim parallel to the beach until you are clear of the rip THEN swim to shore!

not when you have a think about when it was filmed.....Australian summer Dec-Feb. Bondi is open swim and go or surf and go, no sitting on the sand. Australia hasn't been hit that hard by the virus czcams.com/video/NMre6IAAAiU/video.html
