To be fair, I did do a different line of work, and when a certain member of staff/team member was on shift got the name jinks. From the get go, when they turned up for work, they jinked the shift.
That won them the nick name of jinksey 😄🙈

A nickname for a nickname is very Aussie of us 🤣. Doesn't matter if ur a bloke or sheila us Aussie's will give u a nickname, it's just the Strayan way of life & culture 😉. Also we call anyone mate, ya know randoms on the street, the check out chick at Cole's, the bloke working in drive thru at Macca's we call everyone mate but we call our mates c**ts. He’s always at the right place at the right time, he saves so many people. I mean, it’s his job to save people. Just because his luck isn’t the best, doesn’t mean it’s always his fault.

That's H Man. He used to be a Bondi Lifeguard for I think ~16 years. He retired in 2015.

I know this show is old, but i will never forget Mouse rescuing that little girl. I have a little girl and i could not imagine her being so far out and unconscious, essentially drowning. From other parents, Bondi lifeguards, i hope you know we love and respect the hell out of what you do, 10 thousand fold. It brings tears to my eyes the heart you guys express while helping others. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

They brought their 2 year old child into the ocean without any flotation devices? They went far enough out that they could be swept away? How stupid are these people? That kid would be dead if the lifeguard wasn't there and it would be 100% the parents fault.
It honestly is ignorance, those people may never have been to the ocean before or know much about the water at all. I live in Scotland and the amount of families who think they can climb a mountain in a pair of Nike trainers and tshirt with one water bottle and then have to be helivacted off by mountain rescue... people just don’t have a clue and don’t do enough research and their children suffer the consequences the most!

I'm on my day off, watching every bondi rescue video I can find after almost a year without watching the show and seeing all the lifeguards again is really heartwarming .
I can't be the only one who thinks mouse is the best looking out off all the lifeguard, both now and through all the seasons

Rips really are no joke. Even for Australians who know the water. As a kid my cousin went swimming at our local beach (we're talking only five minutes walk from our house) and got swept right out in I think a flash rip. I believe it was a hot summer day so they went in the late afternoon for a dip to avoid the summer sun and the lifeguards had just left. My aunt then got caught trying to get her and they both were trapped off-shore. Some strong local swimmers had to swim out and get them. They both potentially could've drowned. It was pretty scary.
I remember once going swimming between the flags at another beach nearby I knew well. The lifeguards didn't pick up there was a rip right between the flags. It was absolutely brutal. Knee-deep in, it was hard to even stand. It was like that pull you get when you pull a plug out in a full bath and put your hand over it. But on a giant scale. Everyone was getting pulled sideways towards the centre of the rip. And trying to walk in it was like trying to wade through thick mud.
I was in the water for a super short time before I decided it wasn't safe and bailed.
That was a really clear and creative way to explain a rip. I hope people will understand better now!

I can so relate to him...I'm a OBGyn Nurse and in my shift there are at least 6 deliveries sometimes even 8 and my other coworkers have 2-3 at most and sometimes none...even if its exhausting I feel satisfied with my work
