Two uber stars of the film industry - no, not film stars but the backbone of the whole kitten Kaboodle. My first introduction to Eddie Muller was when I turned off all teevee back in 2008. I started collecting Real Films and first up was All About Eve, an impulse buy on my grocer's rack. It was such an otherworldly experience that I began my journey into Films which led me to purchase a colorful box set of noirs. I never heard the word before but the disks had commentary by none other than Eddie Muller. My first Eddie Muller commentary was Crime Wave. If you are an Eddie Muller fan - or if you truly want to be thrust into the orbit of Great Movie History, purchase this disk but make sure it has the Eddie Muller commentary. It's something you will never forget. I loved this video, NOIR FAN not affiliated. Two of the biggest and best in the industry. Wow. Thank you for another great video.

Glad to help. Eddie Muller commentaries are top notch, I've tried to collect them all. He really makes it feel like he's right there with you, watching the film. I'm happy you found noir. All About Eve was an excellent film to luck into watching.

The great Eddie Muller. When the reviewers are as fabulous as the actors, writers, directors, etc., you know someone up there likes you. I salute Eddie and Robert.

Do you watch the “Ask Eddie” show that Eddie does with Anne (don't know her last name). They've been doing it for years, though I've only begun watching it this past year. They have a good rapport and it's a fun show.

I have watched one, always intend to watch more often but somehow it slips by. Anne Hockens.

I always watch "Ask Eddie"! I have learned so much about film noir. Having my questions answered on air is a thrill. I heard about the Hollywood Noir City Festival 2024 and attended it. Met Mr. Muller after the screening of "Nightmare Alley" (in original 35mm silver nitrate print) & he couldn't have been nicer. I recommend it highly 😊

@@NoirFan77That's her name, thanks. I don't think he mentioned it in the outro, but Born to Kill is being shown next on Noir Alley. It's a really fantastic movie starting Laurence Tierney and Claire Trevor. It's a shame that it has no Blu Ray release. I also think Eddie has covered it before, but I'm still looking forward to hearing any additional views of his. Regards to you sir.

@@BickBenedict1 Born to Kill is great fun. Sometimes I think it's a black comedy. "You can't just go around killing people whenever the notion strikes you. It's not feasible."

@@NoirFan77 Yes, that line is brilliant. The dialogue in Born to Kill is so elevated, as well, intellectually-speaking. And Claire Trevor rises to acting heights I've never witnessed her ascend; she transcends to unparalleled levels of skill and talent.
The film itself is like a classic-era piece superimposed over a dark and disturbing noir atmosphere.
Lawrence Tierney is fantastic as well, and you also have the inimitable Elisha Cook “Cookie” Jr. It's not a noir picture if Cookie isn't in it!
Thanks for what you do on this channel. You've managed to forge a nice little community of folks who appreciate these gems of older movies.
I know where I'll be this weekend, and I know where I'll be headed after the show. To your inevitable uploads, of course. Best regards to you, sir!
