It's so nice to sing this song with just a guitar, everything says what kind of singer Billy Idol is, a genius. That's why I love him and he's been my N01 singer for 42 years since I first heard his hit song Hot in the city when I was 14 years old in 1982. I just love him to listen to over and over again. Two geniuses who get along perfectly and complement each other. Steve as a guitarist and Idol as a singer. They work perfectly together and that's why the song sounds unreal, perfect.

You can clearly see him reliving his motorcycle accident in this performance. This song is about his brush with death and his emotion is deep when singing this one. It's close to his heart.
I saw these guys play Atlanta, October 1990, when Billy SHOULD have been home taking it easy. Instead, they rocked The Omni. One of the most memorable concerts I ever attended. Drove 5 hours each way to see them from Huntsville, AL. Worth every second. These guys are keeping me young.

Welcome back Billy Idol... what a song!!!!
I saw Billy twice, before and after the accident. It always shocked me how powerful and in tune his voice was. Contrary to most singers, he Made the studio versions sound lame. As for Stevens, he is a legend amongst his peers but probably the most underrated guitarist to the masses.

Best version I've heard is studio. Live is not his deal anymore. Not everyone can have Ozzy vocal cords. Ozzy will still sound good 2yrs after he's buried! Billy has 70 yr old cords that have been drug down the road and stomped on. My boy is doing great studio work. Live, not so much

That’s how I think about it when I listen to the lyrics. I know it was about his motorcycle wreck as well, but he’s lived a very tough drug life so I’m sure it’s intertwined. Those that experience the addiction know to spot the pain and suffering. Hope you’re doing well, one day at a time.
