@@MaxyTanks14 really said I’ll be on a cover for a game and possibly end my entire career because of it with an injury that was caused by a curse 🤔 SIGN ME IN!!
Should have asked Tim Turbo from the broncos. Publicity should be the cover
The real issue that is highlighted by this is how short most NFL careers really are. And living up to expectations after having a personal best season is an incredibly hard thing to do both mentally and physically. Especially as teams learn to plan around and stop you and your body starts to take more hits as a hits since you are a much higher usage player.
100% most of these guys had already had multiple seasons at their peak or they were guys who had only one good season which a lot of guys do but like you said when every team keys on you it's hard to be the same.
This right here explains it for me
Trur
Patrick Appeared on a cover he should've been cursed until he lost the super bowl
The Antonio Brown segment is comedy gold 🤣🤣🤣
Yah I'm pretty sure AB was to dumb to even know about the curse. He just went full looney toon in that time period.
I think we watched different videos lmao
I’m pretty sure he got cte, it can drastically change your personality
AB’s career only got even worse after this video was uploaded lol
Pretty sure AB changes right after Pittsburgh gave him that big contract. He arrives at training camp in a Bentley Limo dressed like he’s attending a royal wedding. CTE is a very good possibility but the $ came well before and the change for the worse started then
Plot twist: The curse of Patrick Mahomes is Jackson Mahomes.
Lmfaooooooo
Shut up
Patrick Mahomes lost to a 43 year old who was in his first year in a system. QBs in their first year different system usually struggle.
They can't just change the 2000 cove that's bs
Didn't like Calvin Johnson get to be on the cover again vince young bs
Richard Sherman was affected too. His team lost a Super Bowl in a embarrassing way. He had an Achilles injury and was out the rest of the season and dropped in performance except 2019 but they did blow a 10 lead in the Super Bowl to chiefs
Also he was arrested for domestic altercation, he doesn't perform as he used to
Yep. Crazy.

@@83dcardenas that doesn’t count age does play factor and mental health all happen years later.
Actually, Erik Williams was the first victim. He was on the background of the cover during the 94 season. That season, he suffered season ending injuries in a car accident. Although he made a full recovery, he wasn't the same player after that, and it's believed by Michael Irvin to have cost him a Hall of Fame induction.
This was spooky. Football players praise after touchdowns. Dont mock the curse
@@Glenn-F-Rice So someone got into a car accident and you think some voodoo magic made it happen because you think he was "mocking a curse"...
Honestly the Antonio Brown situation as a Steelers fan I think the curse only coated what was already wrong. The real curse started when Vontez Burfict slammed AB with his shoulder pad in the wildcard matchup om January 2016. After that he just wasn't the same. Didn't really smile, laugh, talk to ben about routes and touchdowns plus throwing Gatorade jugs and throwing tempers over nothing. He was already cursed before he was on the cover of madden XD

I really don’t know much about football but my theory is that the players who make it on the cover are the ones who have already put a lot of stress on their body to get to where they are and probably continue the habit of over working themselves in both practices and in games to maintain their stats leading to a greater injury risk. Also the opposing team might come after them harder than anyone else knowing that they pose the biggest risk of scoring. The nfl already has a high injury percentage even compared to other sports so I just think it’s possible that the ones on the covers the players striving to be the best are seeing the worst of these injuries.
f
this may be true but there not putting that much more stress then any other player so it doesn’t make sense how only they are getting carrier ending injury’s

I am unconvinced that Lamar was affected. Concussions happen all the time and didn't affect him coming into the season. Errybody on my team was off catching the coof

Maybe
As an OSU fan (we’re Barry Sanders went to college) I think the reason Barry left is because the lions only made the playoffs only once with him. He was also a franchise tag so he couldn’t leave. He probably wanted to be traded and when the lions said no he just said I quit.
More than once, they got there a few times but the team were never good enough to go far however.
Poor Vince. He was so persistent but the curse wins every time 😔

In the NFL right now, Brady and Mahomes are the only two that survived the curse, And guess who are on the 22' cover?!
Mahomes got struck by the curse at the beggining of the season started 3-4
Brady got hit by the curse. The divorce with his wife after getting in one more season which was mediocre at best. The worst of his career
fun fact:Barry Sanders really retired because he was on the Detroit lions and he didn’t like that he was on a bad team so he decided would leave the lions to try to get on a better team but he failed to get on a better team

What happened to Garrison
The ankle injury didn't force Garrison Hearst into retirement, he was forced to miss the 1999 and 2000 seasons. He came back in 2001 and made the Pro Bowl, also winning Comeback Player of The Year.
I know also they said that he became a star with the 49ers the year he got injured but he already was a star three years earlier with the Cardinals. Thx for noticing most of my friends have seen it and fell for it.
I like how the curse for some of these is just "a few years later he got older, injured, and eventually retired." Yeah...isn't that basically everyone?
I know, right? Like, to get the cover of Madden, you've got to be at the top of your game. It's not surprising to me that injuries happen to people who are playing professional sports, and the best players play the most games. How many other players with similar game time/career records had career ending injuries around the same time but weren't on a video game cover?
Top level athletes suffer serious, sometimes career ending injuries. That's sports, not a curse.
There’s no such thing as a madden curse.. most of the players that have been on a madden cover had or still have amazing careers. The only ones that fell apart were Peyton Hillis, Vince Young, and I wouldn’t even say Richard Sherman because that cover really should’ve been the entire Legion of Boom defense.
Did you even watch it he video
I am glad that Drew Brees pulled through, but he still had to retire 10 years later
the Curse ended when mahomes was on the COVER the Chiefs won the Super Bowl, thats what it took.
@@jimnfl7134 It ended when Eddie George had his best season in 2000 only for idiots to move the goalpost by saying "But the cover said 2001 so the curse is alive!" when they were going by the season the game edition was released beforehand.
Barry didn't retire because of the curse, He retired because he wanted to save his body, and was tired of losing
His body was fine and he could’ve gone five years and with staying healthy the lions just sucked the joy out of the game for him
Yep the madden cover curse got him
nah just a little bad luck man no curse he tried to spin but then it went wrong no way it a curse it was him
I didn’t Get him jeez
The Lions held off on paying him twice bro they ruined the game for him not really any other reason
The curse just said to Mahomes. "Hey how's it going" then walked to Lamar.
nah he had the curse before he was on the cover. the curse is called jackson mahomo
well he did dislocate his knee in the regular season but then again he won the super bowl
MAHOMES GOT INJURED REMEMBER
Nah it hit Antonio Brown so hard it took a break for a year
Lamar didn’t have a curse, yeah he might have got COVID-19 but he obviously would have caught it for playing with other teammates who could have had it. And his injury? That was just a bad game they played it happens to literally everyone
When you think about it people were at the top of their career's more than likely when they're featured on the cover , so really when you look at it they're careers only have one way to go and that's is down
Growing up watching Barry Sanders in the 90's I was surprised he left the game when he did. Reports from ESPN back then was Detroit refused to trade him. His desire was to win. He didn't care about records or celebrating touchdowns. The Lions were not in position to compete for the super bowl so he retired. He was done losing. The Dolphins tried to get him in a trade and Detroit refused.
The Madden Curse skipped Tom Brady 😭

Side note about Hearst, it’s crazy how vital he was to the 49ers organization during the late 90s to early 2000s. With the exception of his last year, (No, I want to forget that he played for Denver at one point.) the 49ers averaged around 12 wins per season during a time where the Greatest Show on Turf was at its peak, and that Falcons’ team that still had Jamal Anderson and Chris Chandler playing out of their MINDS.

I think the reason this coincidence happens is when an NFL player gets on the madden game they get confident, they feel on top of the world, since they are on the madden cover it means they were picked for being one of the best. That is why I conclude that the NFL curse is not real and it affects people on the cover of madden because they make dangerous decisions in games because of their supposed greatness. Also 74 percent is not good considering most of the athletes all the way from madden 17 are still fine today.
Ab
Hmmmm. But that doesn’t happen with soccer or nba or any other ea sport title

I'm just sad that midway quit making nfl blitz cause madden sucks.
When I was younger I actually believed in good luck, bad luck, and curse but now I don't it's just all in your head. I believe that players just need to just say that they are on the cover of the game but don't let it get to you.
If you let it go to your head and think everything is good but it can come around being bad. It's just your bad day that's what's going on. They should've just stayed positive and not let it get to themselves.
This happens in football / soccer / fifa, its crazy too
Madden 2021: ehhh ima add everyone

It happened to Mahomes in the 3rd or 4th week, he injured his knee after he got put on the Madden 20 cover.
Exactly
That injury didn’t force him into retirement. He’s still one of the best qb in the nfl today
The lesson is: don't be the cover player for a Madden game. Ever. If you want to play well in the NFL, don't be the cover art player.
PS. One thought, is EA or someone trying to screw the player over after he's on the Madden NFL cover art?
Another thing, the Legion of Boom was actually the cover on Madden 15, not just Sherman. LOB got destroyed pretty shortly after that.
I think the curse isn't really a curse. I think it's just the fact that the pressure and everything about making the cover gets to their heads and worries the players which affects how they play
