  • Yes Anapana meditation can be very dangerous if you are not doing it properly.
    So many people are suffering because they are not doing it correctly or without knowing the correct way.

      @@rohitdeswal1224 There is no fixed timing. Ideally 10-15 minutes morning and 10 mins night. What is important is that I observe my breath even during my normal activities like reading, when traveling, on mobile, sitting in the park etc for a few secs or minutes with eyes open or closed. Make observing your breath a life time practice but no deep breathing. Never meditate with expectations but with self-awareness.     At least I have not seen the side effects in any of them I have come across. I have seen thousands of them being benefited practising for even 10 years or more.

    Its common during spiritual awakening. The dark knight of the soul before you awaken. I had same in other form of sleep meditation. And also we need to practice vegetarianism . I belived its because of karmic debt.

    Ananpananssati is neither dangerous nor a bed of roses. It’s a gateway, entry level, 101 for your progression.
    When the water is turmoiled and you will be unable to see your reflection. Anapanassati bhavana helps you to prevent from turmoils, to calm and settle the water so you can see your face on the water, and know who you are.
    Once you are mastered in anapanassati then you move on next level like you pass the primary school and get admission to a high school. You don’t attend primary school all of your life.
    You need a good teacher to take you to the high school, one day you will be master or doctorate if you persuading your dreams

    I do understand what you mean. I recommend everyone to do meditation for some minutes 30-45 min or less is enough ,but everyday .

      "If I work very hard and diligent how long will it take for me to find Zen." The Master thought about this, then replied, "Ten years."
      The student then said, "But what if I work very, very hard and really apply myself to learn fast - How long then?" Replied the Master, "Well, twenty years."
      "But, if I really, really work at it. How long then ?" asked the student. "Thirty years," replied the Master.
      "But, I do not understand," said the disappointed student. "At each time that I say I will work harder, you say it will take me longer. Why do you say that?" Replied the Master," When you have one eye on the goal, you only have one eye on the path."

      @@lilbatty it's true. No effort is needed during meditation. Just witnessing is enough. But i am saying that one must be meditative and meditate more and more to the point that you must be aware 24*7. This is the only way to enlightenment. Otherwise you get few benefits but you never reach to point of enlightenment

      Research about the adverse effects of mindfulness meditation brother, there is truth to what he's explaining. Adverse effects are found in some people who did it for longer durations or day long or in retreats. But it's safe if you do it for 10-20 minutes.

      I think you haven't done meditation. the energy is like you want to run a marathon to release the energy.its my experience.
