My senior year in high school we were assigned to write a term paper on the cause and effect of a Supreme Court case decision. I chose the FCC V. Pacifica Foundation, aka the seven dirty words case. It all started when a New York radio station owned by Pacifica broadcast a recording of George Carlin’s Filthy Words monologue. This was a landmark case that dealt with the dicey subject of government censorship and first amendment rights. The ruling in this case is why a specific list of “dirty words” are not broadcast on television or radio today. I enjoyed writing that paper. I got an A on it while simultaneously violating the school’s policy on the use of obscene language. Turns out my English teacher was a George Carlin fan.

George Carlin's rant about the "big club" always seemed a little suspicious, when you think about how rich he must have been, himself.
Meanwhile, Zoomers think you are ANCIENT if you mention his name. Okay, so they still recognize his name, that's something. But they recognize it as something old and irrelevant.

George Carlin, like many of us, got old and tired. He knew he, and his generation, wouldn’t be around to fix things and he saw so many people just not caring. I don’t think he’d join the fight if he was still here. His job, in his mind, was always to inform. We have a few comics that do this now but it’s always up to the masses, and especially the youth that are taking over running things to create the country, and the world that they want. If trump gets back in office that’s the fault of the masses. Vote smart, especially you young people negate the older generations will be dead and it’ll be your mess to clean up or to live with if he’s allowed to get power ever again.

In an interview he was quoted as saying that you didn't have to think at his show He wanted you to know that he was thinking for you. He had the balls to say what he wanted and wasn't afraid to get a little pushback. He called them out for decades. I miss him, he was what we needed. We need to start thinking and we need to start becoming more accepting of others especially those who are different.
