- We are back with a new filmmaking video about the incredible strong LED lamp Aputure COB 300D!

The Aputure COB 300D will give you as much light as 142000 lux at 0.5 meters with a Fresnel mount, which makes it approximately equivalent to a 2000 watts tungsten lamp or a 400 watts HMI (those lamps are way more expensive, are warmer, heavier and bigger). In addition to being a strong daylight lamp with around 5500 Kelvin, it has a high CRI and TLCI value. This means that the lamp produces natural colors. Many cheap led lamps tend to make a greenish artificial light which makes it hard to color-correct natural skin tones in post.
The Aputure 300D is built with aluminum and weighs 2.1 kilos. The lamp has the widely used Bowens mount so you can use many types of accessories, like softboxes etc. You get a Bowens mount reflector with it, a controller box to power on and off the lamp, dim it and customize how you want to operate it with the remote controller. The remote operates at 2.4 GHz radio frequency, letting you control the lamp up to 150 meters away.
Can we light a whole horror film with just the 300D and two reflectors?

what kind equipments for recording all of sounds you had. can you share me link it yet?
thanks you
What kind of batteries do you use to power this 300d light? Or do you just power it by AC?
I started watching the video expecting a lamp review or something.. HOLY CRAP i was wrong.. There are some huge tips and techniques in this video.
THANK YOU Anders & friends
Thanks, welcome to the Andyax channel ;)
This video couldn't have been made and uploaded for free without those who support us by becoming a Patron ♥ Since we highly appreciate Patrons, we give them rewards. Yesterday we had a live Kahoot quiz with prizes, we will hold a Live Q&A regarding all the videos we upload, share ideas, vlogs etc. Even join the set, just as Ivana did in this video. You should consider becoming a Patron too :) www.patreon.com/Andyax
The video is in 4K. Wait some more minutes and you can enjoy crystal clear images shot by the GH4 itself ;)
Appreciate knowing that you're still using the GH4 too. Want to upgrade for that sweet, sweet stabilization, but know that isn't the biggest problem I face as a video maker. There is still an infinite amount of cool and professional looking stuff to make without it.
Andyax your videos is briliant thanks for making this!
The imagery is beautiful
It's still only in 1440p?
I enjoyed every minute of this video, thank you very much. I think that I will be investing in one of those reflectors as well, do you think that I should invest in gels as well, or is there another way that I could produce warm and cold lighting?
Best review aperture could have ever had. Fantastic.

The best Aputure 300 review by far. Thanks!

Great and intersting bts video, thought the 25mins was a full review but the short made it really good, well done!
Frickin’ amazing! Not a boring review, but shows very well with amazing footage! I have the 120d now, but I am planning to use that light soon! Greetings from Japan!
Congrats. Andyax is definitely on a level higher than anything that exists on youtube filmmaking tips. Proud to support them :)

I completely agree. This is a game changer! I've been waiting since NAB. Two of these and a 120D and your pretty set.
Good to see you back!
Truly well-made video! Got into the good old Andyax mood while watching it. Even though I won't buy half of the equipment you're testing, I find the videos among the most enjoyable on CZcams.
I'm working as a PA for a pretty professional feature film now and I think they have that light.
You're GENIUS Andy!
Your environment seems almost fantasy like. Awesome living area.
All your video looks like video shot on heaven ☁

Everytime I watch your videos, I learn some new stuffs.
Thank you very much...
Keep them coming.... :)
We are glad to hear that :D
I stumbled on this video by mistake ... loved it ... I’m an hobby photographer, not a film maker, but I learnt a lot! Good luck for the future ... great stuff!! 😊
bra video anders, har faktisk sitet å ventet på å komme hjem å se denne videoen i dag!!!! Er snart ferdig med min egen skrekkfilm som jeg syns blir veldig bra;) takk for tip og sånt:)
Thanks man! You rock! Wish you a nice day from Finland!
Wow! Such amazing quality considering nobody is directly paying for your channel. Thank you. First discovered you by looking at your steadycam videos. I have a Neewer carbon fiber steadycam. Really hard to balance with my 80D. Plus no real control. Looking to upgrade to Zhiyun Crane in the future. But getting back to the video, really cool light review. Can use for video and also photos with the great CRI and continuous light.
Hey ! Just a quick reminder : The bigger the light source, the better the diffusion. Right now, even though you diffuse the light, the source is way to little. Use a larger diffuser, such as a 12 x 12 scrim or even 8x8. You will then get proper diffusion. Because in the demonstration, it is still really harsh. thanks for sharing !
that's very nice, love the video so much, thanks Andyax。
Thank you Andyax great video!
Holy cow, you’re back! Never been this early to Andyax videos when the videos are in 360p and 302 views!
THANK YOU FOR COMING BACK!
正直その照明よりワイヤーカムに驚きました。いつも楽しく見ています、これからも映画製作頑張ってください!
はい、ケーブルカメラは天才でした。 私たちはもっとそれをテストすることを楽しみにしています! :)
The film is really good!
Finally!!! Thank you for another video. I hope it will be awesome.
Bro I just discovered your channel and it's amazing, im excited, im happy, I'm sad, but in a good way, it's amazing how u has been growing up and be in what u are now. You inspire me... I'm gonna be a patreon soon....saludos desde Chile!
Welcome back!! Great review and the short film was good fun and well executed too!
Andyax - Taking reviews to a whole new level
Kjempebra video, har venta lenge på en ny en og du skuffer ikke! :D
Takk for det Håkon! Setter stor pris på kommentaren din :)
What a nice type of a review! So much work! Now subscribed, thank you!
OMG, the cats are SO sweet!!!
Very good video! Going to pick one of these up to pair with my Hive 100c’s, But not until after I get my litemat :)
BTW! For realistic looking 'fog' you actually want to use a haze machine :) It lingers in the air more and lights up really well with lighting. That's what they use in music venues to show up lasers
DUDE THIS LIGHT IS PHAT
Great to see you back to doing these videos! And, oh man, the short was awesome! I had no idea it was going to be a horror short about making a horror short. HA!
This great! I am planning to purchase two of them soon. This video for sure convinced me. I have a few of their LED light panels already. With this is my toolkit, I think my budding film company will be set in the lighting department. Thank you!! You really should do a feature film. I think you have the equipment and talent to pull it off.
I have learned so much! Thank you for the video!
Du är Amazing! Fantastiskt välgjord video och så mycket inspiration! 😃✨
Tusen takk, det er hyggelig å høre :)

Hallo Anders!
Dette er jo fantastisk! Interessant og velformulert - Mega!
You video are so professional man. Everyone is perfect. Idk how you keep doing it👏👏
you just made my decision more strong to get this light. Super awesome job with the set examples, I can totally relate the amount of hard work it takes to put up examples with people and the set. See you in norway next year in march, lets do a collab video :)
Always love your video, welcome back Andyax :D
This motivates me
man glad to see you back
love from india ☺👌👌
Love the effort you’ve put into this video. I was curious about this light and now I have the answer. Thank you!
Really loved the storyline of the short film 😂
Awesome video! my only criticism is that the film grain effect is a little overwhelming. Love your videos!
Love the cable u guys used :O
great work guys!
This is great! I'm so glad you're back! :)
Thanks for this video andyax!
Didn't knew the wiral could handle a dslr! Too bad they are only marketing it with a gopro
I miss you guys man!!! thank you!
Wow, amazing Video!
Great content Andy
Thank you guys.. for your hard work .. the video is great... I was learning much... I thought it was a review video.. It's even better than that.... !! Good job..
I appreciate the detail and work you put into these videos, no need for film school Brandon kelley- San diego California.
Amazing video Andy! Keep the good work! I learned a lot!
Superb video. I've just enjoyed all 25 minutes of it. Perfect timing as we have a film shoot coming up on the 28th, and I've just hired the 300D, soft box and fresnel adaptor (plus 3 x dedos). Great video, I also loved the whole behind the scenes filming as well.
Thanks mate :) Do you think we should have excluded the short film in this video and published in a separate video instead?
Possibly.... The filmmaking section was great, but I'd initially sat down to watch a more typical review... That said, I reckon lots of film enthusiasts/professional will subscribe as a result of all the added value in the video. I honestly thought it was great, both seeing the Aputure light review and then seeing it in use on a real set but also the honest look at how you solved different situations.
Okay, thanks for the feedback :)
Fikk min på fredag! Helt utrolig rå. Skaffet meg Fresnel og soft dome i samme slengen. Nå blir det saker! :)
Amazing work, Thank you Andyax!!
