- This time on RRC Restoration I'm going to be restoring all of the bare alloy parts of the VFR400 frame that have been ruined by previous owners with years of polishing . This episode has taken way longer than planned to complete as I've been plagued with issues so I apologize in advance for the wait and that its not as detailed as I would have hoped but onward and upwards. Enjoy.

Laughed out loud at the nuts and washers lining up for the ”pool”… Outstanding work, both in front of and behind the camera!
Thank you, Glad you enjoyed it :)
Yeah, that little walk was cool!🤣🤣
I could watch this for hours and hours and hours on end. I want a parts cleaner, a paint booth....and a custom zip tie holder. So sick!
Same 😉
Just like me. 😄
I would settle for working inside out of the rain.
Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed it :)
Thats exactly what i thought!!!
Absolutely outstanding.. quality restoration and quality filming and editing. Could watch you for hours.
Thank you so much for your kind comment :)
Your work is just amazing. I love your attention to detail, the fact that you complete every task properly, and your professionalism in the deconstruct, and reassembly. So easy to edit out errors, yet you show them, admit them, and correct them. You are a true professional, and I admire you and your work. Thank you. Cannot wait for the next episode Sir.
Thank you so much for that kind comment :)

Thanks man, look like were the same chasis with my Honda bross400cc,
You know, I really don't think you have the proper idea on your tool storage. All the tools should be tossed about on the floor, the workbenches, the shelf spaces, etc. At least, thats what all the other repair shops, and restore shops on youtube do! Regards from Canada 🇨🇦 😂
As far as "it's not as detailed as I would have hoped" I think you nail the balance in your videos where there's sufficient detail yet the pace of the restoration that ends up in the edit is on point.
Anyways, good stuff and excellent results as always!
Thank you so much for that comment, really glad you liked it :)
Unbelievably excited to see this episode.
I really hope it was worth the wait? :)
@@RRCRestoration absolutely it was. I look forward to the colour scheme you choose. I personally like the OG red white and blue livery… probably because thats what mine was.
Thanks for the great work you do!
@@DavidSmith-yi8oumine was the black colour scheme
Sir; i was wondering if you have used a brushed finish with Scotchbrite with a bit of running water...it seems to give a faster and 'cleaner' brushed finish... if you've tried it, and decided not to use this method, i would be interested in any comments on this.
Lovely work, might be some of your expertise transferred to our TL-250B & CX-650E!

As a recent subscriber, and amateur bike and car tinkerer, I'm really loving your vids and the lack of annoying loud music! genuinely educational and great viewing to us nuts and bolts guys. Many Thanks!
I've only just notice the incredible about of different camera angles and shots you are catching for these videos.
The work you put into production is as meticulous and well thought out as your spannering.
Amazing.
Great to see you return! No need for apologies man, the wait makes it all the sweeter. 30+ minutes is a bonus 🙂
Oh no, the bearings are in the wrong place, I had to rewind it to catch it when you put the axle back in. I'm glad to have you back with us, we missed you. Still, I believe that quality trumps quantity. You, sir, have that in spades. It's great seeing you doing what you do best, and we’re all here to enjoy it. Take care of yourself and we’ll see you on the next one.
how can you tell? im having trouble
@@brodycurtis14 He put them in backward. There's a tapered bearing and a standard bearing. The tapered bearing is supposed to be in the spot where the shaft is tapered, not where it's straight. It's super easy to miss, I only noticed when he pointed it out.
oh awesome, thanks a ton@@st3althyone
@@st3althyone you're eagled eye! Here 4:54 you can clearly see the orientation where the bearings are.
Moving forward 23:55 and the needle bearing goes on the castelated chain adjuster side, followed by the 2 standard ball bearings that goes to the disc side.
Same sizes in different shapes.
Know that been there 😅
i did the same
One of the best yt channels about restoration, by far. Amazing job as always 🎉
You're too kind :)
Indeed - spread the word as he's 2/3rds of the way to 1M subs!
Your channel never disappoints. Quality work and attention to detail.
Thank you very much :)
Great work! I am very excited to see the finished bike! Nothing cooler, than a 90s sports bike, and your work is perfection!
Btw. You switched around the location of the ball bearings and the roller bearing..😉
Your videos make me calm down, relaxing and de-stress. Because, you go the whole way and make everything as it should be. Very satisfying, love your work
This brings back a lot of memories during the restoration of my CBR250r MC19. Gorgeous 4-cylinder 250. Keep up the great work!
Fantastic vid as always! As for the wait, don't worry about it. Life happens, things get in the way, and projects get put on hold. It happens to all of us. You're content is always worth the wait. Love from the States!
Thank you for the kind comment :)
I love that vapor blaster, wish I could afford one. By the way, I love that "Freshly cured and out of the oven" smell lol. This is the best channel for restorations! It amazes me how well your re-plating works, no other channel can do the job as well as you do. I wish I knew how you did it.
Tears of joy 🥲 the moment I saw the title of this series ❤️🔥👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽🔥🔥🔥
Your restoration work takes perfectionism to the next level, I love seeing you doing the detail stuff like replating the bolts, it’s the small things that make the difference between really good and perfect. Nice to have you back, looking forward to the remainder of this project.
Interesting to see the NC30 swingarm and hub in detail. Was surprised to see, that the rear sprocket assembly has no "rubber dampers" like my RC36. Great work and video 👍
Thank you, yeah I was surprised at the lack of cush drive rubbers too maybe Honda felt they were unnecessary for the 400?
@@RRCRestoration I was also curious as to this, but the rest of the design is so similar to the 748/916 Ducatis.
@@RRCRestorationthere is no cush in the NC30 - just pure adrenaline!
Perhaps a compensator is used within the engine?
@@SteelJM1 no. It’s just chain lash thats absorbed in the rubber cushion assembly. Probably creates too much movement in the single side swing arm system.
DOH!!! Needle bearing goes on the right, double bearings go the side with the chain adjustment tabs 24:45
Yep - you can see at 24:50 the needle bearing is now in the correct end.
Absolutely spot on, well done :)
@@RRCRestorationmy guy, I thought you were going full steam ahead with bearings installed wrong. You gotta tell me you fixed it 😅
It's the level of detail that you go to that makes your restoration activity remarkable. Love the commitment to 100% man - thanks for your work
Brings back fond memories, had a crash damaged NC 30 I restored must be 25yeats ago. Loved that bike
Fabulous restoration as always, very much looking forward to the next episodes. The single sided swingarm is a beautiful thing 😊.
Nice one for getting the vid done! Appreciate you looking after your viewers with the other stuff going on in your life. Excited about this one.
Cheers buddy :)
@@RRCRestoration It was, as expected, exceptional. That swing arm looks perfect. Your drawers are so tidy too! almost as pleasurable to look at as the swing arm.
Don’t quite know how I stumbled across this channel but I literally can’t take my eyes off it.
Honda's single sided swingarm is a work of art. Enjoying this latest resto. Thanks for posting. Fan from Nova Scotia.
Niesamowita robota i umiejętności! Podziwiam. Best wishes from Poland.
Top results as always! Can't wait to see this bad boy finished 👍
Thank you :)
Hope everything is ok now at your end dude! Good to see you cracking on, thanks for keeping us entertained and inspired.
WOW! This was well worth the wait. Thank you for the quality restoration and the detail you put into the work you do!
Good video. I've been guilty of using too much polish myself in the past. 🙂 Getting an original equipment finish can be difficult on aluminum motorcycle parts.
Not if they are painted as most are 😄 But great to see it done properly where it was, no need for constant polishing now as he sealed it nicely too.
Trabalho magnífico, extremamente agradável de se acompanhar.
Подход к работе просто грандиозный! Мало таких рестовраторов как Вы! Красавец!
Hi RRC, these are great videos. I have this bike in the shed at the moment in pieces and not great condition trying to get the motivation to put it back together. This is certainly doing it. Thanks
Fantastic to have you back and likewise to see the progress that you've made during this episode.
You mentioned that you made a small mistake during the fitment of the bearings. I'm guessing you used 2 x clockwise, rather than one of each 😉
Thank you, really happy you enjoyed it :) The mistake was I put the bearings in the wrong sides lol
@@RRCRestoration and us mere mortals were meant to spot that. Just in awe of what you achieve. Keep up the excellent work 👏
I was absolutely captivated by your attention to detail. An excellent video. Well worth the wait. Thank you.
Hoping that people enjoyed it... hmm, wonder if anyone has mentioned to ya that if you were just restoring things in a half arsed manner just to get things working etc then maybe but even then if people don't enjoy your work that you share then let them GFT :)... Always a pleasure to watch, learn and sustain dreaming that someday one may have the space, tools, skills and passion of restoring things the right way as shown by you consistently. Thanks mate...
Always amazes me how well you can bring items back to life cracking job ,always appreciate your uploads for my own projects
Solid work, always admire your attention to detail. Glad you're back!
Once again, you have shown why you are the only one I am a patron for. As I said over there, your content is well worth waiting for. Very well done, sir.
Well done from the states!! Life takes priority. Always ready for another exciting episode, no matter when it is. Keep ‘em comin!!
I’m not even a biker, and I just love seeing the transformation. Keep it up please. Good luck with your challenges.
Glad to see you're still with us with the same goals, attitudes and proficiencies at your disposal. Tedious work but I'm sure you enjoyed it.
Astonishing work as always ! The quality of your work and video editing is always on top ! Best restoration channel on YT without a doubt ! Well worth the wait. 👍👏
Stunning work as usual - I think this could be the best restoration project yet, considering how bad the bike looked before! Glad to see you back - one of my fave channels here
Absolutely amazing work and problem solving, I was impressed by the way you cleaned up the swing arm and frame. I didn't even know what you did was an option, as always impressive work!
Always enjoy your work, the attention to detail and finish is just so darn satisfying ❤❤
I had one of these years ago, can't tell you how much I appreciated this, nostalgia off the chart. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it! :)
Glad you're back and hope you didn't get too burned out by being so busy BTS. Lovely episode and first-class restoration! Great stop-motion part paired with the audio embellishment. Looking forward to seeing the next one.
Good to see you back, things happen. Will be here waiting. Of course awesome detailed workmanship 😊
Like a surgeon! PERFECT. Loved everything about this video. Well done. Thanks.
Doing this part of the build brings back memories lol. Your videos are very helpful in my confirming where parts go as well as finishing techniques.
Couldn't wait to sit down and watch this intently , awesome work

Great work, amazing you managed to revert the polishing to original finish. This thing will be beautiful when finished and worth a few bob too
Absolutely love this channel and the attention to detail !!!
Well that answered my question. Glad you cleared over the swingarm and frame. Not sure why i thought you wouldn't haha. I can't wait to see this finished. What a gorgeous bike for its age.

A long wait that is always well worth. Thank you!
so amazing. a small shop with so much tools and equipment. keep it up.cant wait to see the output of professionalism and passion.
About high time you restore those horribly neglected Jack stands😎. Enjoyed the stop motion camera work, well done. Glad you’re back, hope you and your family and dogs are all healthy and happy!
Awesome! 30mins+! Of your superb work skills and production standards! That's a treat man 👉👉👉. I always notice if there's a bit of a wait between your updates, but it's a good thing. It's like a major treat when it's time to watch. There's a fair amount of great channels on here, but I fill the time with the others whilst waiting for yours dude 😉. Thanks brother 🙏. 😎
Such excellent engineering deserves the excellence you bring to a restoration!
I really enjoy the attention to detail you put into your work.
Thank you so much :)
I'm subbed to Bad Obsession Motors, mate, so trust me, the "delays" between your episodes are absolutely nothing to worry about.
Absolutely superb, i could watch this all day 👍👌
Found your channel due to my interest in VFR's. Subscribing due to your excellent work and video production. Nice job, sir!
As ever an absolute education, good to see you back man. Hope all good ✌️
Was waiting for this for a long😢, no music pure sounds love it man keep it up ❤
Amazing as usual! Can't wait to see the next episode, you're truly a master 🤙
Thrilled to see another episode and hit like before even watching it, as I know it'll be great. Keep up the fantastic work
Thank you so much :)
Good to see you back, cracking job as always mate
I used to race one of these in the Superbike Lite series. Was an amazing handling bike and could often ride around the outside of 916's on practice days. You'd certainly get the comments in the pits after that! Great restoration!
About that mistake, it happens to to most of us, when we install the bearings on the wrong side of the hub. If you don't work, you don't make mistakes!
Really appreciate your channel, and enjoy your videos!
Exteremly satisfying to watch. Great work
That swing-arm and hub assembly simply looks gorgeous.
This is superb, brilliant work on an iconic bike
Had 5 nc30's love them so much! Literally can't wait for next episode
Teil 😜
Einen lieben Gruß aus Niedersachsen in Deutschland
good morning from Germany.
what would you like to discuss that I find your videos very good and interesting?
I think it's very nice that your videos are shown in peace and there isn't too much music in the background😀

Thanks for bringing back that old VFR. Brilliant bikes well worth preserving and getting back out on the road.
No problem at all, thanks for watching :)
Brilliant work. Love the videos. Keep them coming. Looking forward to the next one.
Love it!!! Also take the time you need. I hope you’re doing well and the delays were not some personal trauma.
How could you not enjoy this
Top content with another icon of a subject. Must have been satisfying getting the awkward blasted! Eagerly awaiting the next episode as always.
