I’m obsessed with this scene - even more than the ending (which is brilliant). “Hold me. I’ve been so lonely. Let me.. let me… let me…” with her forced kiss oh God it just KILLS me. She was never insane, but her fucked up family betrayed her. It’s so intense. So heartbreaking. Justice for Catherine! 💕
MC had just had a horrendous car crash prior to this film & the director wanted to change him for Peter O’toole , yet he was Liz’s bf & she said “ over my dead body “ MC was drinking & taking a lot of drugs at this time due to the car crash, yet so glad he stayed as his performance was incredible
LT was motherly figure to him. He was gay, and after the accident his face was no longer 'pretty enough' for Hollywood he thought. A tragic figure, he was; but not so tragic as to have LT as a girlfriend. A friend who was a women is more like it.
Liz Taylor would have made the perfect or very close second to Vivian Leigh in the movie version of “A Streetcar Named Desire”. She has the portraying of a Southern woman of “good family “ nailed in this and “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” . She had all the sex appeal too second to Vivien Leigh (the most beautiful actress ever!)

What follows this scene is an earth shattering performance by Elizabeth.

The director treated him so badly that after Hephrens final shot she spat in his face because of it!

So Sebastian Venebolde gets pieces of his corpse eaten by his psychotic mother who us’d to procure men for her son ..now that’s what I call a plot !!
The mother didn't eat the pieces of the corpse it was all his past procurements
Taylor always overacts!
She's sposta be on sodium pentathol
She's just been downed.. how else do you expect someone to behave?
TW's plays demand overacting
You must be talking about the bleach head Lana Turner
@@bobvance3277 Good reply, and so true. Taylor has done some fine subtle acting during her career when she has a decent script to work with.
