I love how he is still an engineer while taking on the Israel/Palestine conflict. And he is really right in his conclusion and assesment. The hard part is that there is also a number of other terror organisations which might feel encouraged to attack Israel if they don´t see a really hard response from Israel. That makes this so much more difficult and maybe impossible.

When Muslims peacefully took control of Jerusalem, they did it without any bloodshed! They did not seek revenge for previous oppressions of their enemies! I like the way Mr Musk has not distanced himself far from the world around him, and has the dignity to pause before answering questions. Those responses came form the heart, not the head. All we can hope for is someone in Israel is watching and also has the same qualities as Mr Musk, to try and stop this awful war. War has no winners!

Look at how many Palestinians have been killed or displaced since Israel's colonial and dare I say it, terrorist formation in 1948 and compare it with the number of Israeli civilians killed. There aren't just Muslims in Palestine. You only have to be human to condemn Israel's formation, to condemn Hamas and to condemn Israel's illegal expansion/ethnic cleansing.
There is always a bigger picture than the picture they allow us to see. Things like this don’t happen without many powerful people pulling the strings and make us believe a narrative they keep forcing us to hear but being done for a completely different purpose

"Conspicuous acts of kindness." Elon put something in words that I've been thinking about for years, essentially asking myself if there is a way to create peace by initiating peace as a response to war, not surrender, but real peace.
It sounds great, but there's no evidence for it. In fact, it's the opposite. Israel provides Gaza with electricity, water, takes out their garbage. Same in mu country, Georgia. We have regions occupied by Russia. We've provided separatists with free electricity and healthcare but they just don't care. They still commit brutal acts of violence of Georgian residents left in above mentioned regions and they most certainly don't think of putting down their illegitemate power.

An equal response tend to escalate because both side underestimate the badness of their response and overestimate the badness of their opponent's response. Furthermore, for a century back and forth conflict like Israel-Palestine. It would go on forever even if both side would keep doing fair eye-for-an-eye response.

Wow, it’s amazing to see the difference between how politicians approach this issue versus a person who specializes in actually solving some of the biggest problems in human history. What a completely different and affective approach he has.
Because acts of kindness are free or cheap and don't result in any profit being made. Politicians are always looking to keep their backers in the defense industry well paid.
Whenever Israel has made concessions, those concessions have backfired. The reality of the situation is that Israel is too small in terms of both land area and population to be able to play nice. The U.S. and Europe can afford to make feel-good decisions because they're large, powerful and surrounded by allies; but for Israel to do the same would be unwise at best, suicidal at worst.

The 'Palestinians' are just a group of Arabic people; they don't have a unique language, culture or history. Yes, Palestine is a tiny colony within the Arabic world, which is why I'd suggest they give it to the indigenous people of the land, who lived there for 1700+ years before the Arabic people left the Arabic Peninsula.

He drew this conclusion of "hamas did x to in order to produce Y" but he totally made that up, he just "thinks" thats why hamas attacked and is using the result of the attack to explain the cause which is redundant, its like knowing the final answer and saying "nah they did this because they wanted that exact consequence to occur". So he bullshitted that axiom and his logic is all designed with israel in mind to create a false perception to the media of being peaceful so they can retain the gaza strip vs actually obtain a fair and just answer. Look at how many Palestinians have been killed or displaced since Israel's colonial and dare I say it, terrorist formation in 1948 and compare it with the number of Israeli civilians killed. There aren't just Muslims in Palestine. You only have to be human to condemn Israel's formation, to condemn Hamas and to condemn Israel's illegal expansion/ethnic cleansing.

Elon is a really smart guy, but you have to view things through the filter of the culture in the region. "Acts of kindness" will be only viewed as weakness and inspire more attacks. The reason Hezbollah is reluctant to throw down from Lebanon is because they remember what happened in 2006 when they initiated a war on Israel and Lebanon got bombed and set back decades and have still not emerged intact after 15 years. Also, they can all see what's happening to Hamas in Gaza and no one, not even the Iranians, what a dose of that medicine.

I think it pretty much goes without saying that Elon Musk and other would be less sanguine if a proportionate terror attack and an attack of similar nature took place on American shores, but that's for another day, possibly tomorrow.

This is not true. It is exactly the worry about “creating new enemies” after WW2 that prevented Germany from becoming what it became after WW1. The Nazis are a direct result of the allied need for “retribution” after the First World War. If it wasn’t for the treaty of Versailles, there would not have been a Hitler.
But the Japanese have not been attacking and killing Americans since 1945 . The Arabs could have learnt from multiple defeats that it was better to be friend to Israel but they are a little people full of resentment so that will never happen.

Elon focused on what israel should be doing while they fight Hamas. He clearly stated Israel has no choice but to uproot Hamas to het any chance at peace. His entire proposal is to mitigate the damage done by the bombing by showing an effort to help people that even Hamas can't deny. Shift public opinion inside Gaza because that matters a lot.
