Thank you for the detailed explanation. What buffer time one should reserve for the entire biometric process to get completed at the center? Want to plan my to & fro flights accordingly.
The biometrics hardly takes 20 minutes after you enter the building. But do keep ample amount of buffer based on the traffic of the city where you are travelling to .
If my DS-160 is about to expire from the actual VISA interview, when should I ask them for a new DS-160? After biometric and picture or before all the process even starts? Also, do they charge you if you ask them for a new DS-160? Also can I carry a purse with me or should I put it in the locker?

They took a picture. No we don't need to submit any photographs..

Hi Muskan, my name of DS-160 is same as passport (Surname, FirstName Father's Name). But the Appointment letter has name in different format (FirstName Surname). Do I have to change my name in appointment letter ?

Hi,,mera passport name is Tsering pema,my Ds 260 have pema,Tsering and my biometric conformation page have Fnu Tsering pema because my passport have no surname that why they put Fnu before my name,,, is this ok for me or not,,,

I don't think you can do that or should trust nearby cafes with your luggage. You can use the lockers there but it can only fit a backpack.
Hi. Thanks for the video. I have biometrics at Mumbai soon. I recently renewed my indian passport and got a new one. Can I get the DS-160 corrected for the new passport number at the biometrics center? I will carry old and new passports.
As far as I know, your mrv receipt (visa application fee) is linked to the passport number and if your passport number changes the mrv will be invalid , which basically means that you have to make the payment again. I was about to get my passport renewed before the appointment as well, but when I did some research I found this information. If this is not true , do let me know so i can help others if they face similar doubts .

While filing DS-160 it didn't ask for any pic upload. After confirmation and on my print out it says it will be taken at ASC. Is this correct ?
Don't worry. The photograph will be taken during biometric.

I've created a common folder/file for the visa documents. Can I take the entire file to and throughout the biometrics process or I need to separate those three documents and I'll have to handover the file to the locker and pay 400 INR. ???
You can keep the file with you during the biometric.

You just need to create an account on us travel docs and then you can book your appointment.
You need to fill ds160 prior to that.

Yup both the appointments should be within 15 days. Biometric takes about 20 mins and the interview takes about 1-1:30 hr after you are inside the consulate.
So there is no passport size photograph we need to take with us?
They will click right there at the embassy right?

It is sufficient. One can book the interview even on the next day of the biometrics.

No , it's not necessary. But i would recommend getting coloured printouts
Interview is on April but on the website there’s no option to schedule the biometrics
You can not book just the interview. Both appointments are made in one go.

They give it to you immediately. The passport is kept after your visa interview, if it is approved.

I don’t have the stamped copy, the passport has the sticker of the biometric and the bar code that’s all I have So next when I go for the interview will they allow me with the passport with sticker ? I have a non stamped copy of DS form though, will that work
I think that should work. All that they will do is check and scan the barcode sticker on ur passport.
