The spoilers on top of the engine nacelles are actually part of the stall warning system. They are deployed hydraucially once a certain AoA is exceeded. They create a vortex that hits the tail, inducing a buffet similar to a stick shaker.
Those flaps in the engine exhaust are so called 'thrust attenuators' and are linked to the speedbrake. Their job is to decrease the thrust output so that the pilot is forced to use a higher power setting for landing. In the event of a Go-Around you just retract the speedbrake and give power so you might live. You have to know, that the Tweets engines have the longest spool-up time I've ever seen. From Ilde to MIL in the better part of a minute. That's why it is absolutlely mandatory to have the Speedbrakes extended for the entire Final approach.

There was also a light attack variant used in Vietnam as the A-37 Dragonfly (I believe Cessna's first and only light attack jet). There are still a few models flying around today

True, the A-37s are mostly used by Central and South American air forces, like Uruguay and El Salvador if I remember correctly

At idle the T-37 engines put out 135 decibels of high-pitched noise from the intakes, which were just a few feet from your head. Naturally it got nicknames like "Tweet," "The 6,000 pound dog whistle," and "The 6,000 pound device for converting kerosene into noise." Supposedly the engines could have been made quieter for $70 each but it would have reduced thrust too much.
The canopy makes the cockpit into a greenhouse. At Williams AFB they did a test on a hot summer day by putting a thermometer in the cockpit and closing the canopy. About 30 minutes later the thermometer broke.

Great video but the engine volume needs to be around 200 decibles lol :p This little trainer jet always reminds of my elementary school days (1980's) in Universal City near Randolph AFB. It was off Pat Booker and we were directly in line with the southern runway. The "Tweets" flew over the school in pairs all day long. You'd hear a shrill whistle for a couple minutes over and over again. Noisy but very cool to watch as a kid. 😊
