    I love how this pack gives a little bit of a nod to our Australian multiculture. Vindaloo (Indian), Mi Goreng noodles (Indonesian), along with our yeast extract (Vegemite) of course :D

      It's mainly just for variety, and something that can be mass produced in giant pots, so they have to be a stew or hotpot type thing, there are different packs, by the best main/hot meal is the "Lamb and Rosemary". And Noodles, especially mi goreng is REALLY CHEAP.

      lThe average ADF soldier uses the EF88, Basically a modern version of the Austeyr F88 with picatinny rail mounts.

      +Harry Hammonds ANZAC is really just a word to describe Kiwi and Australian forces working together. Many combined operations are still undertaken between New Zealand and Australian forces due to many shared interests (hence why some products in the MRE were from New Zealand).

    the noodles are labeled "mi goreng", which is malay (why malay in Australian MRE? IDK) for fried mee. It's supposed to be dry - you have to drain the water from the instant noodles then add the seasoning and stir.

    The reason we have yeast extract also known as vegemite in our MREs is because it is basically salt in a paste form. You lose a lot of the salts in your body from sweating so you eat it to replace the salts that are lost and this reduces cramps and also gives you the feeling of being energised.

    the scourer there is to scrub your cups canteen after you cook with it because we use hexamine stoves which leave a sticky soot sort of layer on the bottom of your cups canteen, so you need to scrub it off. I used a handful of sand or dry grass normally myself.

      I've ate kangaroo, it's way too lean unless you grind it with a fatty meat like lamb, pork, or duck and make it in to a burger.
      It's a myth that Australians eat kangaroos, everyone knows they only eat dingoes with a side of coral from the Great Barrier Reef.

    Yeah yeast extract is Vegemite, to be exact it's actually the left over yeast sludge in the process of making beer that gives it that distinct flavour. Delicious on hot toast with melted butter!

    we call the can opener a fred in Australia but there are many other names for it.the green cloth is a scaring pad with soap in it so when you are finished with your meal you can clean your pots and depose of the scouring pad as it has tracers of food in it it usually gets put undergrounds with all other food waist.
