SCAR 17s vs AR10: Is it worth the cost?

- Comparison of the FN SCAR 17s versus the Smith and Wesson M&P10. Both guns are semiautomatic rifles chambered in 308 Winchester with 16" barrels and could serve the same purposes in an arsenal. The SCAR is great performer with tons of combat experience, and the S&W MP10 is a lesser known AR10 that really brings a lot of value as it is priced at about $1000. Both guns are ambidextrous, and light weight for a semi automatic 308. Both rifles are accurate, the only real difference is one is the SCAR 17s is short stroke piston driven and the S&W is direct gas impingement.

Good video. Why did you mount the scope mount on the SCAR backwards?
Astute observation! It’s a borrowed gun, so I didn’t mount the scope, it was that way when I received it. I honestly didn’t even notice it, even though I’ve mounted dozen of one piece scope mounts.. it didn’t seem to impact performance, but ill point it out to the owner. Thanks!
It’s a lpvo. Low power variable optics. It’s mounted the correct way! I thought you fellas knew more about firearms?
@@boneharvester_eth4021 the Scope is oriented correctly otherwise it wouldn’t work. It’s the scope mount that is traditionally mounted the opposite way because most AR uppers are not monolithic and the mount would need to be flipped to get good eye relief. This is not the case with the SCAR because the handguard and upper are all once piece so it honestly doesn’t matter either way. Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Thanks care!
