Mark and Audrey are two slackers who knew one another in high school. Both recently dumped by their significant others, they are forced to work together delivering flowers on Valentine's Day -- and confront their own romantic foibles in the process.
This short romantic comedy has a rhythm of its own, weaving its story around rat-a-tat witty dialogue. With each delivery, the duo encounter the gamut of strange behavior, situations and relationships, ranging from romantic assignations to even funerals.
The feel of the film is loose and even improvisational in feeling, true to the internal rhythms of its main characters, and the structure of the story allows the film to canvas the full range of emotions that Valentine's Day often inspires in others.
But as the two slackers spend time together and get to know one another more deeply, they're able to grapple with their hidden hurts and vulnerabilities, which allow them to work out their feelings -- and their last obstacles to love and connection.
ALLERGIC TO FLOWERS is both deeply acerbic and very sweet, finally revealing its emotions on its guarded sleeve. I loved the ending because it shows what it's like for a shy guy - you hesitate for just a second with a girl and next thing you know she's on some other guy's arm and you never get another shot with her - realistic, trust me.

The guy wasn't that much into her, he wasn't very responsive. They both dodged a bullet, he would have trudged along and she would have ended up with someone else anyway.

When you're being super unfiltered with someone, burping, smoking, single on the most romantic day of the year, unglamorous job, not dressed up, not putting on a show, feeling blue...no wig even...that can be secretly very vulnerable. There can be a message inside you like, "If I'm this unpretentiously really ME, will they like me? As in...LIKE me like me?" It can take awhile of being buddies to find out...

I like these two actors together but the situation is sort of contrived - as in, why does it take two people to deliver flowers? Why would a delivery service even hire someone without a driver's license?

This gives me an idea for a tv show: strangers, a man and a woman, commit misdemeanors and are sentenced for six months doing community service to deliver flowers. At various stops, they get involved with the lives of their customers, solving crimes, solving family problems, etc. all the while slowly falling in love with each other. At the end of their sentence, they elect to continue delivering flowers just to be with each other and continue helping people. Potential?

It was a moment in the past with their past lovers, I think it kinda shows why they have some awkward chemistry present day, and maybe also why shes a "Sloppy drunk" (assuming that's why she kissed him)

It's a flashback of the two people in the van, it explains the underlying tension in their relationship. Both of them are with people at that party but she made a move and he didn't immediately reciprocate her feelings so she went back to her date.
