- Here's how to rig the 8" and 6" Ultimate Squid lure on the NEW Ultimate Squid rig, common jigheads and weedless hooks.
The new SQUID RIG is available in 3 weights; 3/4oz and 1.5oz, and 3oz. All include the moulded weight jig head, strong and sharp 4/0 twin assist hooks and the custom Chasebaits blade.
Designed to sink on the perfect angle, for perfect hood wing movement and balanced action. The twin assist hooks are attached to the rig with a quick-release clip rated to 85lb, and the included flash blade can be replaced with a treble, stinger hook, or any other required accessory.

I used the replacement lure yesterday and ran thru a Shimano Waxwing, Kastmaster, Bobber (set to sink). I found the does run deep (I casting on the flats 3.5'). Make sure you adjust your rate of retrieve and rod tip angle (up) to prevent getting snagged on bottom. Used it a couple of times and action was very lifelike (looked like local bait fish for trevally), craftsmanship very good....however eyeball fell out. I asked for replacement and it is on it's way! It was very easy to change out treble to single inline hook.

*I caught this guy on my 3rd cast. Paired with these 4" trailers. **enjoyable.fishing** recommend slightly modified, I think i trimmed about 3/4 of an inch off of it. Its deadly!*
Like the looks of these but seems they would be good for one fish on a jig as the feelers would get torn off quite easy.

When using the worm hook do you use the same recommended weights as the jig heads?
Depending on your fishing depth. Any weight from 1/4oz or heavier will work fine.

Not sure exactly, as it was filmed a while ago, and they look very similar. Yes, both weights fit the 200mm (7.8") squid. It will also fit the (150mm 5.9"), the wire just hangs out the back a little further. Hope this helps!
Yes, can fit all sizes on the 200mm squid. There is now a 3oz version too.
3:06 Where do you get a weighted worm hook like that? I.e. the weight is nearer to the barb. All those I've seen are nearer to the eye of the hook.

@@spinmaker1542 definitely not man, fish in South Florida unfortunately do not prefer squid, only bait fish, so obviously any squid imatation lure they see will more times than not simply make them nauseous and on several occasions while watching another guy attempt what you are referring to, the target fish were actually seen vomitting in the water while running from the squid lure 🤢😱😂

Unfortunately, we have discontinued the Squid Rigs and will not be creating anymore. We recommend using a 5/0 or 6/0 standard jig head for the 150mm Ultimate Squid and 6/0 or 7/0 for the 200mm.

Its not that to much weight? Also the lead could be painted for camouflage? Its very realistic.
Depends on how and where you are using it. Rig with a weighted Jighead or Wormhook, 1/4 oz up to 3oz, with a 4/0 - 6/0 hook.
