I've been using this the past month and I'm absolutely slaying the small mouth on the river in N. Indiana. The Cicadas here haven't even hatched yet. The fish are striking it even though it's completely unfamiliar to them.

Fresh water fish love these baits too! They look great to the fish and they tear them up! I fish for musky and they like big lures. So if you could make a 15 inch version of this lure, it would dominate the pike and musky market! I have caught so many musky on the 10 inch squid lures that if they made it even bigger, those 40 and 50 inch fish would go wild for them. I am spreading the word about the squid for fresh water fish. You should too!

I used the replacement lure yesterday and ran thru a Shimano Waxwing, Kastmaster, Bobber (set to sink). I found the does run deep (I casting on the flats 3.5'). Make sure you adjust your rate of retrieve and rod tip angle (up) to prevent getting snagged on bottom. Used it a couple of times and action was very lifelike (looked like local bait fish for trevally), craftsmanship very good....however eyeball fell out. I asked for replacement and it is on it's way! It was very easy to change out treble to single inline hook.

Having fished multiple s in different sizes and colors, czcams.com/users/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 this is by far my favorite. One thing to be aware of is the sided willow blade. One side is silver and the other is the green/orange shown. This is not bad, just unconventional. In terms of fishing, I have found the lure works just fine without a tail like a craw or shad. That addition is up to you. Also, the hook part where you attach the swivel snap or tie the line is a problem on baits these days, since it's able to slide up and down. However this lure seems to be tight enough that that doesn't happen often, and you can solve it by putting a thin slice of medical tube over the hook before attaching the line. Like others have said, it's really magic on a good windy day.

Just got mine yesterday and nailed 2 good fish using it but was throwing it in pads today and the problem is it’s really difficult to keep the hook point buried in the frog so every time you cast the hook pops out and it then it catches every weed possible and it flips the frog over .. when that hook point comes out , the eye of the hook gets shoved down and also catches weeds ..anybody have any hacks to keep that hook point buried ?
