    Some feedback:
    Please show how to enable Loop Tools first!
    Also mention the changes between the three buttons next to the "Edit mode" dropdown in the top left corner. There are moments when you switch between the Select Modes and you don't mention them.
    After the two minute mark, my sword ended up very crooked, I probably did something wrong of course but as a complete beginner it's really important that I can follow every step.
    Apart from that, it was an interesting tutorial, and I might try again some other time when I feel less defeated.

      Yes, I'm not a complete beginner so I understood how to do stuff that wasn't shown or mentioned, but this isn't really a "beginner's" tutorial. Interesting nonetheless.

      Preferences > Add-ons and then search Mesh: Loop Tools to enable!

      If you're default selection key is LMB, you should be able to open the menu with your RMB. Let me know if this worked. So we can troubleshoot if it didn't.

      Now you need to choose "LoopTools" and then "Circle". If the option "LoopTools" isn't available, you have to enable the addon. You can do that if you go to "Edit->Preferences->Add-ons" (In the menu on top), then search for "LoopTools" and then enable it.

    I currently use Blender 3.6.2
    The Loop tool was not displayed to me in the menu (RMB or W).
    I was able to activate this via the AddOn menu (Menu: Edit -> Preferences - AddOn) then Search for Loop tool.

    2:47 by extruding along the normals, the sides seperates from each other over here (using blender 4.1 if that makes a difference), instead of staying together, am i doing something wrong?

    • @tengertechnologies
      @tengertechnologies  Před 2 měsíci

      Could it be, that you accidentally chose "individual faces" instead of "along normals"? It's located in the same menu. (Checked with Blender 4.1)

    • @tengertechnologies
      @tengertechnologies  Před 10 měsíci +1

      I'm not sure what you mean with "it tweaks out", but maybe it has to do with what your inset is set to. If you press "i" twice you can switch between individual on or off. This means that you can either inset all selected faces separately or all together. I hope this helps. Otherwise feel free to ask again.

    When I press ctrl + R it didnt cut? I call bull?

    • @tengertechnologies
      @tengertechnologies  Před 8 měsíci +1

      A different way to do it would be, using the loopcut tool in the toolbar on the left. You can check which one it is by hovering over it.
      It's hard to say what the problem is. You could check your keymap settings, for that go to "Edit->Preferences->Keymap" and search for "Loopcut". If it is set to ctrl+R, there could be another program on your pc that causes the problem. I've read about people who had this problem because the had a vpn installed, which uses the shortcut too.
      Hope this helps:)

      If you are using the default keymap, you should be able to open the context menu with right click.
      (I have set my keymap to the old default where you select with right click, this changed in Blender 2.8 to be default to select with left click)
      If you are able to open the menu and Looptools doesn‘t show up, make sure that the plugin is enabled in Edit>Preferences>Addons

      Did you press them at the same time or one after the other? One after the other would be the correct way. I can't think of a different problem here. Maybe you can check wether your keymap is default or not. Let me know if you got it to work, otherwise we can try to troubleshoot.

    • @tengertechnologies
      @tengertechnologies  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Glad you figured it out! As an explanation: If you press O, you turn on proportional editing. This means that everything you do gets proportionally done on everything in the area of influence. The area of influence is the circle that appears on your screen and you can control the size of it with the mousewheel.
