    I recently got this laptop in the UK region. It’s screen brightness isn’t an issue even outdoors and the screen wobble is no where near as bad as Jarrod makes it out to be. So - for anyone interested enough to read the comments almost 8 months after this video release. I've got victus with 5800h and 3060 inside. As of BIOS F.13 CPU power draw reaches 55W in steady state and 65W for short turbo (around 5s peak). Both in default mode and performance. In Silent mode it goes down to 25W. GPU goes at 30W in silent, 80W in default and 95W in performance. All measured by HWinfo.
    Those differences in CPU TDP make Victus cpu performance almost on par with Legion 5 pro 5800h now. In my opinion default mode in Victus is now better than default for Legion. Though Legion still can boost to around 80-90W in max performance mode.

Every time there was a problem with dead or hot pixels. So I finally settled on Victus :) Which all things considered is not perfect - but Lenovo became a big no-no for me after this. 3 Legions, all bought from different shops - all with lcd matrix defects from the go.

    • @abccba5125
      @abccba5125 Před 2 lety

      🤔 maybe it's a problem only for that specific model, not an issue quality of the brand...I've heard complaining about HP also...the fact is I think that processor for primary gaming purposes seems a bit superfluous? With that GPU it can perform almost same with lower CPU (5600h)...and can easily install additional ram for cheap...that said, I have an Acer notebook not strictly a gaming machine, but it has problems since early times and now I have to switch, Asus notebook also got problems, I think low/medium tier portables have something not just round tailored any case ...maybe it's time for HP 🤨

    • @Bilut
      @Bilut Před 2 lety +1

      @@abccba5125 5600h it's definitely enough. I'v tested both in legion pro. No difference in gaming/light loads. Got 5800h in victus purely because it was on sale and cost the same as 5600h version. As for ram - always plan for replacement. Cause they use slow x16 shit. I'v replaced mine in victus too, it was not only x16 but also 2400mhz cl22 :)

    Hi Jarrod , can you please give your advice on my issue - I need a new laptop with descent specs for working mostly, and at the moment I can get this lightly used or a brand new Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 16" Gen 7 with i5 12450/3050/16 ram/ 165 hrz, 350 nits, 100%RGB, 16:10 (or the AMD version Ryzen 5 6600H with ddr5). I don't play games at all , but I can appreciate a bit of flair. I don't care about any wobble as I don't flick the screen , but rather open and close it gently. It will be used 99% at home or some other indoor place, so the brightness is enough on both. I may only need 32 ram, but that is easy. Can you please advise me? I also can get a Legion 5, I know it is your favourite :)

    Jarrod, for the fan speed settings issue, it will revert your changes if your profile mode is set to auto. If you want your settings to stay you need to change it from auto to manual.
    I own the RTX3050 victus and my region states 99% sRGB but I have no way to confirm it. Cooling is great though because the RTX 3050 is only 75W.

      Plugged in or unplugged? Also check your booster settings on the Omen program. And maybe check your performance mode on the battery icon. I’ve found some games run better than others… and at random times I get slowdown for no reason. Overall it normally runs things quite well though.
