Yeah, the fox also seemed to respond better to surface changes BUT it's not really fair for two reasons: the rockshoxx boxxer on the clip has the regular black bars and not the high end ones, unlike the fox wich has the kashima finish, plus both riders will use different tuned and have different body weight.

Looks like boxxer is set to really low compression, it just blasts through 200mm of travel and bottoms out pretty hard (you can even see how the lowers deflect a bit). While fox is better setup with more compression and it softens the bottom out). The thing is, the riders dont have the option to change the compression/rebound settings during the race, only at the beginning. So if the course is flat and there is one big gap at the end of it, they will most likely keep the compression at minimum anyways. While in freeride i personally would add some clicks to the compression specifically to hit that jump, so the forks dont suffer harsh bottom out
The rockshox is set up more appropriately here imo. It uses all travel and has a soft bottom-out, followed by a smooth rebound and recovery. The fox bottoms out hard enough that there's an audible click. Then rebounds and continues to bounce for a while.
I think the Fox gave less of a impact to the rider but then we’d have to look into how strong each rider was at the time. Pretty sure there are better tests for suspension forks 👊🙃
