Wonderful glimpse of Welsh TV history. I worked for TWW in Pontcanna studios in 1960 when it was a like a family unit making shows like 'Land of Song', ' In the News', 'Amser Te'. I was an assistant film editor working with Dai Cutts Powell and Colin Voisey, cutting 16mm newsfilm images in black and white negative!!

Thanks for posting this wonderful footage ... Growing up during the fifties TWW was very much a way of life ... The likes of Bruce Lewis,Maureen Staffer and Guy Thomas etc were as if they were part of the family ... REST IN PEACE TWW ... we will NEVER forget you!

    dunno where they are today.
are there any pictorial histories of TELEDY CYMRY out there?

It was a disgrace after the cost of extending those studios, taking over Teledu Cymru, and no doubt investing for colour for their franchise to be taken away. The same though could have been latterly said of ATV, Thames and TVS

itn's news at ten came from wales the very night HTV CYNRU opened up!i . i also recall, on the former TELEDY YMRU, the welsh anthem, nicest in europe, was played in full at closedown. then when the UK anthem, god shave the queen, cme on, some welsh guy used to pull the plug half way through!! i suppose some of you think the UK anthem is an english anthem instead of a british one. Well, why not vote for home rule for wales? you're not docile, are you all? i recall martin william, gwynn looellen
