Well, probably it's because Rachel told Finn not for his best, but because she's selfish and she wants Finn for herself. That's how I feel it and that's why I disliked Rachel I think.

It still amazes me how Rachel was portrayed as the "bad one" here... everyone else (the students) know or suspected Finn wasn't the father and still were eager to let him ruin his life over someone else's baby - and all based on cheating and lies. Rachel was the only one who behaved like any decent human being should have.

Rachel could be a brat and could piss everyone off for days, but in this situation, regardless of her motivations, she did the right thing. She told Finn what he NEEDED to know, Quinn was the one in the wrong here, not only did she cheat on him and lie about Finn being the father, but she was also only WITH Finn for the popularity, she only cared about the superficial things. (I'm so glad Quinn had amazing character development). I don't mind Rachel's character but I don't love her, even so, I hated seeing her being portrayed as the one in the wrong here when she did the right thing.

That’s completely irrelevant. She would’ve been suspended if Finn hadn’t claimed that it was just a fake slap. When teachers saw actual punches being thrown, the participants weren’t even sent to the principals office.

I have a lot of issues with Rachel, but I agree with her decision to tell Finn the truth. In Quinn's own words, Rachel had the guts to do what she couldn't do and tell the truth. Who knows how long Quinn would have kept the charade going? It wasn't fair to Finn, and while Rachel telling on Quinn could have been an attempt to get with Finn, I believe in this moment she truly cared about his feelings and how he was being treated in this situation

Now if this lie had continued to be perpetuated, Finn, Puck and Quinn would've ended up in the same fate as Sean, Julia and Christian from Nip/Tuck (the Ryan Murphy show that preceded Glee). If you've seen Nip/Tuck, then you'll know that Christian is the biological father of Sean and Julia's son Matt, a secret that had been kept hidden for years.

I have so many issues with Rachel and I can confidently say I strongly dislike her character. However, this was one of her most redeeming moments by far on the show. It doesn’t matter what motive she had by telling Finn, she did the right thing. Watch the scene where Mercedes finds out the truth and realized it was none of her business and that Quinn needed to do whatever she thought was right because her life was falling apart. Finn had a right to know. Rachel was Finn’s friend way before she was Quinn’s and she wasn’t friends with her at this point. Finn was going to be forced to take care of and raise a baby that wasn’t his, thinking it was actually his, when Quinn cheated on him and got pregnant with his best friend. He had a right to know, and Rachel was looking out for him while everyone else was trying to keep it a secret. Everyone else was thinking of Glee Club but no one was thinking of FINN.
No one else would have done it. He would have been in blissful ignorance, and ruined his life if Rachel didn't tell him the truth. I'm not a huge fan of Rachel Berry, but she did the right thing. Would Quinn or Puck have told her at some point on their own? Doubtful.

I used to think Rachel was selfish for telling Finn, but after reading other perspectives and re watching this scene, Rachel really hated how Quinn wasn't being honest with Finn in the first place.

She could have done a better job of delivering the news but at the end of the day they will always be friends till the end till they die. But that's just my opinion.

That’s completely irrelevant. She would’ve been suspended if Finn hadn’t claimed that it was just a fake slap. When teachers saw actual punches being thrown, the participants weren’t even sent to the principals office.
Since this video features one of the examples of violence having no possible consequences, it’s relevant. Suddenly changing rules back and forth to drive a plot point forward is and always will be lazy writing.

I have a lot of issues with Rachel, but I agree with her decision to tell Finn the truth. In Quinn's own words, Rachel had the guts to do what she couldn't do and tell the truth. Who knows how long Quinn would have kept the charade going? It wasn't fair to Finn, and while Rachel telling on Quinn could have been an attempt to get with Finn, I believe in this moment she truly cared about his feelings and how he was being treated in this situation

Now if this lie had continued to be perpetuated, Finn, Puck and Quinn would've ended up in the same fate as Sean, Julia and Christian from Nip/Tuck (the Ryan Murphy show that preceded Glee). If you've seen Nip/Tuck, then you'll know that Christian is the biological father of Sean and Julia's son Matt, a secret that had been kept hidden for years.

Rachel did the right thing but for the wrong reason and you have to look at every side of the story Quinn chose Finn because Puck was a deadbeat, Puck got her drunk and knocked her up. It was not Rachel's place to tell Finn anything it was none of her business and she also chose to lie and say she didn't do anything. She chose to tell him at the worst possible moment. She could have done a better job of delivering the news but at the end of the day they will always be friends till the end till they die. But that's just my opinion.

Watch the scene where Mercedes finds out the truth and realized it was none of her business and that Quinn needed to do whatever she thought was right because her life was falling apart. That was the right thing to do. Rachel did this for selfish reasons because she wanted Finn to dump Quinn and become her boyfriend.

At least she was honest enough to tell him unlike everyone else who were Finn’s supposed ‘friends’ who wanted to be selfish and keep it a secret so he wouldn’t quit Glee Club so at the end of the day what Racheal did was right, she just did it for the wrong reasons. It was obvious that Quinn wasn’t going to tell him out of fear of Finn leaving him and Finn would have been stuck raising a baby that wasn’t his.

Finn had a right to know. Rachel was Finn’s friend way before she was Quinn’s and she wasn’t friends with her at this point. Finn was going to be forced to take care of and raise a baby that wasn’t his, thinking it was actually his, when Quinn cheated on him and got pregnant with his best friend. He had a right to know, and Rachel was looking out for him while everyone else was trying to keep it a secret. Everyone else was thinking of Glee Club but no one was thinking of FINN.
While it wasn't Rachel's place to tell Finn, it was the right thing to do.
No one else would have done it. He would have been in blissful ignorance, and ruined his life if Rachel didn't tell him the truth. I'm not a huge fan of Rachel Berry, but she did the right thing. Would Quinn or Puck have told her at some point on their own? Doubtful.
But yeah I totally agree I told my friends this to it wasn't her place to tell Finn Quinn would have had to tell him eventually notice how this episode was the same episode that season 1 sectionals happened so the glee club knew if Finn found out that day he would go off the edge and all hell would break lose and it wasn't there place to tell him I hated Rachel and I always will

They were going to let him raise that baby or pay thousands in child support to protect themselves. They were screwing him over, and would not stop unless forced to. Quinn never became a stand up person (see the season 5 episode where she blamed Schuster and Glee for ruining her life).. And Puck, well, he's Puck.

I used to think Rachel was selfish for telling Finn, but after reading other perspectives and re watching this scene, Rachel really hated how Quinn wasn't being honest with Finn in the first place.
I don't like Rachel, but she was in the right here. For one, Quinn cheated on Finn with Puck (who didn't seem to care when confronted). Second, she was putting a huge responsibility on Finn by getting him to prepare to be a TEENAGED FATHER for a kid that wasn't even his. Finn deserved to know the truth, even though it hurt him. She did the right thing, even if it was for the wrong reason.
The thing that bothers me the most about this is, Why did it have to be Rachel who told Finn the truth? Everyone in there knew that Puck was the dad because of Mercedes, and they all decided not to tell Finn because...They might lose Sectionals??? The Glee Club is supposed to be about looking out for and supporting each other when no one else does. Finn is their friend, and they're willing to let him torpedo his life if it means they can win a singing competition? I don't care if you think Rachel did it for selfish reasons, the Glee member who is the most competitive, who cares the most about winning, who loves Glee more than anything else, was the only one being a good friend in that room. And then they have the gall to be angry at her when Finn wants nothing to do with the club after everyone conspired to lie to him?
