Dami Akanni I’ll sum it up quickly, Santana is partly spanish( i think) and there was an episode where Will was trying to improve his personal spanish to improve his classes enjoyment and grades as he is a spanish teacher. In after school classes he met someone who isn’t really important to the story and never shows up again and Will preforms a stereotypical spanish song. Santana reports this stereotyping without Will knowing as that is the right thing to. Santana and this unimportant person preform another song that is culturally appropriate and non stereotypical and Santana expects another song from Will. As expected, he is once again very stereotypical and realises by the looks Santana is giving him that she was the one that reported him. He gets mad at her saying that it wasn’t her business to report him being practically racist to Spanish people and that he could loose his job over it. He also makes a point saying that everyone else “loved my performance”. Santana then says that its his fault they liked it because he has taught them these stereotypes that aren’t true at all and that this is their educations he’s filling with stereotyping and not his. Will eventually realises his mistakes and ends up giving up his spanish teacher job to this unimportant character and he ends up becoming a history teacher. Im sorry this is so long i just needed to explain it all

If Santana were an actual real-life person, she would be absolutely intolerable because none of what she says (in this compilation at least) is nice or ethical. But in terms of characters on a TV show, you look for someone who is interesting and compelling rather than morally flawless. Yeah, Marley is a lot better morally than Santana, for example, but she's also more bland. Santana is a massive fan-favorite because her (pretty unethical) comebacks made for entertaining television.

If Santana were an actual real-life person, she would be absolutely intolerable because none of what she says (in this compilation at least) is nice or ethical. But in terms of characters on a TV show, you look for someone who is interesting and compelling rather than morally flawless. Yeah, Marley is a lot better morally than Santana, for example, but she's also more bland. Santana is a massive fan-favorite because her (pretty unethical) comebacks made for entertaining television.

@@selinsever8206I love her as a FICTIONAL CHARACTER. She’s the type of person that I would hate irl because real bullies are never as funny or have as much character development as she did. However, seeing that Glee is not a real story, I find her insults funny and entertaining. Again, if someone was like this in real life I would not support them. I also look up to her because she was the first person/character that helped me figure out my sexuality and for that I’m grateful.
