- The Leshan Giant Buddha is the worlds largest buddha statue. Seeing this magnificent buddha up close was incredible. We've made multiple attempts trying to go to Chengdu to visit the Leshan Buddha, and finally we were able to go.
While in Leshan we saw the Oriental Buddha Palace that has over 3,000 buddhas throughout the park. This was something we were not expecting to see while visiting Leshan, but it was definitely worth the extra entry ticket.

We are James and Keli, previously Two Tickets Around the World. We are originally from Kansas in the United States and after many years of traveling during our holidays together, we took a leap of faith and moved to China. While we teach English during the week, we use our holidays and weekends to explore the different wonders of China.
Once the borders open, we'll continue our adventures exploring the rest of the world. Until then, let's explore China together.
Have you been to the Leshan Giant Buddha? 🤩We still can't believe that these buddhist statues were carved over thousands of years ago, and with so much detail!
Twice, one is the hillside route and another is the ship cruise.
@@user-gt3wz8ly4o we’ve heard the ship route is the best view of the Buddha! Unfortunately we didn’t have time to do the boat tour.
I wish I could go. I really hope I can actually go see the giant Buddha and visit the emei mountains in my lifetime
I am buddhist from india namo Buddha
Awesome to see the statues and carving inside the cave. You are the first youtuber to bring this discovery, as I have seen quite a number of videos from visiting foreigners showing this 70m Buddha overlooking the rivers, but none seem to be aware of the cave existence. Thanks for sharing.
The cave is new, not more than 20 years old
Very nice and informative video. Many thanks.
Thank you so much for watching 😊
Wow amazing place!
Those 'spirals' on his head is not Afro hairstyle whorls, but are SNAILS.
While the Buddha was meditating in the blazing sun, snails crawled over his head to protect him from burning.
Explanation music this place and video good 🗨🗨🗨
Thank you so much for showing not only Big Buddha ❤
Excellent video
Namo buddhay app ko and family members
Thank you so much for your excellent videos! The Leshan Buddhas are amazing and the cave is unbelievable!
Amazing place.
That Giant statue is amazing like something out of the Lord of the Rings movies.
Wow amazing
I like Keli.
my hometown
Hi, nice video! Is it possible to fly a drone around the park??
We are not entirely sure if it’s possible to fly near the statue. We flew it in the park next to it, just not by the Buddha. We would just recommend looking for clear signs that state if drones are allowed or not, and look at your drone app for confirmation.
amazing
I will be going to LeShan next year and your video is very helpful.
You will love it!! Enjoy 😍
If you travel to Leshan, I can be your free guide. This is my hometown and I lived here
Nice.
Next destination should be Emei (峨眉)mountain!
We’ve also been trying to go for a while! Unfortunately we were unable to go this time while in Chengdu 😔
@@JamesandKeli Emei mountain is also highly recommended! Hope you will visit it in the future.
I first look this cave in youtube
太壯觀了!
Sanxingdui museum you will be amazing
Could you please name your top 3-5 destinations in China? I am planning a 2-week-visit and it is just impossible to decide on where to go 😅. I know I can't see everything but everything seems so interesting. I was thinking about Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu + Giant Buddha, Lijiang, Dali, Shangri-la, Xi'an.....What would you say is a must see? Pleeeeaase help me :)
In our personal opinion, 2 weeks is not enough time to see all of that! China is huge which means it could take a while to travel between cities, and you’ll want to leave enough time for things that may come up.
What we would suggest: Chengdu + Giant Buddha (3 days, 1 day for the pandas and 1 for the Giant Buddha), Xi’An (3 days, 1 day Terracotta Warriors, 1 day the market and walking the wall), Beijing has so much to do (4 days is a rush, 1 day Great Wall, 1 day Hutongs and forbidden city, 1 day heavenly palace and walking around), finish in Shanghai (1 day walking through the Former French Concessions, 1 day bund and old town, if enough time go to the water town,Zhujiajiao).
Yunnan is a beautiful province in China, and is a completely different experience going there. If you opt out of Beijing and Shanghai, we would recommend replacing it with Dali, Lijiang, and Shangrila.
我至今还没去过乐山大佛😂

We learned the age after visiting and looking it up. It’s not as special as other caves, but it is still very cool to see.
go to the si chuan shu nan bamboo sea
a bit of advice for foreigners. If you have made any wish to the Buddha and came true, make sure you go back before the end of the year and show your gratitudes and appreciation. Otherwise... you would lose more than what you wished for.
I think this cave was dug after year 2000.
That was one thing we were wondering about, it seemed very new and we never heard about it..
@@JamesandKeli Go to 川西 or 云南, with fewer people, and less commercialized.
@@JamesandKeli really don't like 雾霾 around Chengdu plateau.
There was a cave. But I remember it being much smaller. CCTV said there are still some places that are not open to tourists.
Buddha is a doctor 2000 yrs ago.because the monk can cure so the human built buddha status
Yes he treats to the mind, not to physical body. Great Teacher.
Are you guys on the spectrum?
