Before Lightning came into his life, for over 5 decades Doc did the best he could to shy away from society, because he knew after his huge accident, people would not only wonder where he's been, but easily forget about him since he became old news.
All Doc ever wanted was to feel the spirit of racing, it was his purpose, nobody else ever gave Doc that feeling he's been missing until McQueen because he was too afraid to live it again

As much as an art that new cars are. Round Headlights were a legal requirement, which lead to the curved fenders. The engine was larger so they needed to have more hood space. The all metal bodies needed to be curved to create structure. New cars too have style, however they don't have the benefit of nostalgia behind it. The old cars are indeed a work of art, but so are the new ones.

My uncle had a 1950 Hudson they would do 110, he wrecked it but was not hurt
The step-down floorboard design gave it a lower center of gravity.
I know Lightening and Doc didn't quite get along when they first met but over time he(Doc)became his(Lightening)crew chief, mentor, and friend.When I saw the 3rd movie with the flashbacks of them I saw how much Doc and Lightening really bonded almost like father and son
And due to that, I always saw Doc as a father figure to Lightning, not just a mentor.

Same here. I was only a child when he passed away and I didn't understand why he didn't appear then I found out the reason years later.
People often like to make fun of the Cars franchise, and although I never disliked Cars, the way you and theSuperCarlinBrothers talk about it just makes me love and appreciate Cars so much more

underrated Pixar Movie. But having use to watch it often with my nephew when he was wee, I quite like it.
I miss Doc. His departure left a huge hole for the fans, and without the epitaph of his passing, it still hurts. They should have laid this to rest in 3, then made 4.
I feel it was due Paul Newman, Docâs voice actor passing away in 2008.
Doc was such a cool car! Honestly I get why he was so bitter after other cars said that he was history. He proved them wrong though I would have loved if he won a race after his accident. Him going out by driving with Lightning would have been heart warming and heart breaking at the same time. Lightning becoming blue was so awesome! It really works for him!
I think of all the retro cars, I really adore Doc Hudson. He's wise, secretive, sarcastic at times, and just the perfect candidate to tone down Lightning McQueen's ego...and of course the bond they had was just like any teacher-student would haveđđ

After Paul Newman died in 2008, I had a feeling Doc would die in the sequel as well .
Itâs not that uncommon to have the characters die when the actor dies
I just feel like that's the right thing to do.
Itâs like with the movie Robots in 2005. Robin Williams is currently deceased and we havenât gotten a sequel, so what would happen to Fender? Blue Sky maybe wouldâve done something similar to what Disney did with Doc.

Since Doc Hudson was my personal favorite character from the first cars movie, I hereby declare this as one of my favorite videos from this channel.

My theory is that if Doc did not die of old age, he died as a result of his past injuries because he became weaker. Yes, he was fixed up but there was definitely some parts of him that weren't the same again.

This was Pixar's intent. The actual racer, Herb Thomas was badly injured in a race that nearly killed him in 1956 (30 days in a coma). He never felt like he was at 100% after that. Unlike the Pixar story, the crew moved on from Hudson as it was failing as a company and bought out by Nash to form AMC. Hudson's main racing engineer and the other drivers helped start Chevrolet's Skunkworks. Which they then helped once again dominate the sport like they had for Hudson. Herb finally gave up racing in 1962 and went back to farming tobacco. Herb listened to or watched NASCAR every week and was a huge fan as well and finally died of a heart attack in 2000 at age 77. Which Pixar also incorporated into the story, so they had this planned out from the beginning - to tell Herb's story in their own way. Of note is that he didn't languish in a small town in the middle of nowhere and had a full life and family with three children, finally being inducted into the International Motorsports Hall of Fame in 1994.

@@joshuamccutcheon IIRC I think it was said in passing in one of the episodes that he "threw a rod", which would be their equivalent of a heart attack.
In Cars on the Road it's revealed that Lightning McQueen isn't retired, ditched the Doc Hudson tribute look and returned to his classic red look and isn't mentoring Cruise, Lightning still races for rusteze and probably has Smokey as his new crew chief and Cruise is mostly likely being mentored by Strip "The King" Weathers because she races for Dinoco
Personally I like to think On The Road is not canon but it is and unlike Cars 2 I doubt it's gonna get retconed ever sigh.
Doc Hudson was my model whenever I'm in deep depression. It was hard to find a Diecast of him until a miracle happened. But then I grew old of Cars and decided to not be too obsessed with Cars, but Doc Hudson will always be my favorite

Doc was a racing Legend, he were a racer from 1951-1954 and won 3 piston cups in a row, a crew chief for Lightning McQueen from 2005-2009, he still holds the record for most wins in a single Season (1952 Season)

Doc Hudson is such a racing legend. Thanks for telling me the story of his life. It makes me miss him even more. He really has a lot of stuff in him just like Lightning does. I call him Grandfather Race Car because of how old he is and how legendary his racing skills are.
Doc Hudson reminds me of Skipper Riley from Disney's Planes because of what happened in their past like Doc crashing on the beach during racing,got replaced by a Rookie and was never allowed to race again and Skipper getting shot down by Enemy ships and just couldn't bring himself to fly again

I said, after seeing the movie for the first time, "this movie has heart."
I love that you can just skip cars 2 and go right from cars to cars 3. You still get the sense of a completed story, for both Doc and Lightning. Doc was honestly my favorite character from the films I was devastated to hear of Newman's death cause I wondered what that would mean for the character. But the fact that they could use so much of unused recordings of Newman, was very impressive. Ya got a lotta stuff Pixar.

Sure, it didnât really have anything to do with Lightning, as he was barely in the movie, but I still think it's a decent movie on it's own.

I love â€ïž that the Pixar team reused some of Paul Newmanâs recordings that some were not used for the first Cars movie đ„ and decided to use some of Newmanâs recordings that was used for some flashbacks in Cars 3.
When Doc said âThere was a lot left in me, I never got a chance to show em.â, that hit me so hard and made me feel sorry for Doc that the racing world made Doc quit his racing career.

It's a wonderful story. I loved watching Cars with my son when he was toddler. We use to watch it at least 3-5 times per week. I miss those those days. Now he's a young adult.
When I was a kid,I used to found Doc a grumpy guy in the beginning of the movie just because of Lightning,but actually,it was the '54 crash that made him act until the Los Angeles Speedway.

Lightning McQueen personal development from rascal, greedy and one man champ to supportive, teamwork and kind hearted, and dedicated to learn car. It was all because of Hudson Hornet's past and the rest of the Radiator springs. Without Doc Hudson, Lightning would not learn any new things and tricks, valuable heart and friendship which meant for racing.
That was totally awesome, Isaac. I enjoyed seeing Doc's story and I loved your presentation of it. Thank you.

Literally my childhood movie and still in love with it until now that I just graduated from college. I don't even want Cars to end because it is literally part of my life. I grew up in a broken family living in my dad's family side. Doc is a life hero to me and father figure. This movie is also the reason why I don't stop watching Pixar movies and preferred watching animated films than other genres.

Please, can you do a video telling the origins of Iago the Parrot from Aladdin? Because some of the only things I know about Iago, are due his long partnership with Jafar, Iago has a vast knowledge of magic more than the Genie himself, and Iago was purchased by Jafar in the marketplace of Agrabah some years before the events of Aladdin.

As the 30th anniversary of the classic Aladdin approaches, I want a video telling Aladdin's full story, because I want know more about his past of struggle to survive in the streets of Agrabah, and because will be fun and cool to tell Aladdin's transition from a street rat to a Prince and become heir to the throne of Agrabah alongside his beloved Princess Jasmine. Also, I want you theorizing where Aladdin and Genie were during the events of Disney Enchanted Tales: Follow Your Dreams segment "More than a Peacock Princess", if they were in a diplomatic mission for the Sultan, or most likely they were visiting Aladdin's father Cassim in a hidden place in a kingdom far away from Agrabah, since Iago returns to Agrabah while Aladdin and Genie were absent.
I also want him to do a full story of Iago from a selfish and greedy villain sidekick too a brave loyal companion of Aladdin and his friends.
Also make a dedication to Gilbert Gottfried who had died 7 months ago
My belief is that being a Hudson, a literal orphan car, there were no parts available for his repair. He could lay waste out in a field somewhere waiting for a used part to become available, or being a medical professional, decided to have his friends honor a âDo Not Resuscitateâ wish, as he also decided to donate his parts upon passing, so that someone else could live. His own mentor, Smokey, was also a Hudson. He may have known that Smokey was in need of such a part.
One of the big plot points of Planes 2, which exists in the Cars universe, involves Dusty having a faulty part that no longer exists. They donât have a method of remanufacturing such a part. One of the characters apparently could make repairs on existing parts, but thatâs a surprise at the end. Without that character though, he would be a goner. Had he not become a fire fighter, thatâs it. Part fails, he dies. ...or is grounded. I forget. I suppose if your engine fails while in flight that would be deadly.
Either way, cars from the 20th century had a hard survival rate, as there wasnât a good database for used salvaged parts. You either lived near a junk yard that had a parts car like yours, or you were SOL. You would need to be a part of a car club, and they would provide you with the resources on where to get certain replacements. The classic cars you see, ESPECIALLY orphan cars who no longer have a manufacture, exist in modern times because they used parts from scrapped vehicles. Sometimes those parts cars are rescued, but not after decades of being left out in a field.
Perhaps Doc refused a common Chev LS engine transplant that has found it's way into Mopars, Fords and a bunch of other makes. He wanted to remain a pureblood to the Hudson lineage.
@@MrPFFlyer lol. He does seem like the type of person whoâd refuse to become a âhybrid.â Heâd also be the type to carry a grudge well into the grave. He would never stoop to having GM parts used on him, believing that GM had a hand in the demise of Hudson, or even the death of the merged AMC.
But itâs very possible that certain things simply arenât swappable. I mean, you could believe that the distributor is the heart, and the ECU, or in his case, carburetors, were the brain. If a complete swap were truly possible, why didnât McQueen simply do it when he no longer could keep up with the newer rookies in Cars 3? None of the seasoned racers did. Or any of the Lemons in Cars 2. They had the money for a complete transplant. Beats being towed everywhere.
What happened to the town founder Stanley? No body repair shop? No medical professional? Did he catch fire? I have concerns! Is he rotting away in some field? Do they have cemeteries? Crematories? Was he crushed into a cube, like that agent in Cars 2? Their universe is sick!!!
As a legendary racer in the past 50 years Hudson had 27 wins in a single season he achieved to victory as he barrel roll over the C-300 rookie Leroy heming in 1951 he raced at Florida, Thunder hollow and in 1954 Hudson rolled off to a crash racing took slot out of him until the officials moved on to Leroy Heming Hudson never had the chance to show the crowd there's more for what he loved most during his disappearance he became a mentor to McQueen coaching him during the piston cup season training along the the way as years goes by in 2007-2008 after his passing in 2009 in 2011 the memorial Museum was held renamed the piston cup The legends felt close to Hudson lead to the back stories of the past McQueen pulled out of racing to mentor Cruz in 2017 for years to come of a bright future of the piston cup racing series.đđđđșđž

Donât know if youâll read this but I was wondering if youâll consider looking into the Disney Live Action TV Series Universe.
What Iâm referring to is the various Disney Sitcoms that are interconnected. Thatâs So Raven, Sweet Life of Zack and Cody, Hannah Montana, Wizards of Waverly Place, Jessie and many many more.
Disney has basically been doing MCUs before they even acquired Marvel.
So itâd be interesting for you to do a deep dive into it!

Doc was a great legend in racing history, and yeah, itâs sad that Doc passed away like his voice actor, Paul Newman. Newman was the perfect casting choice for The Fabulous Huston Hornet, Doc Hudson.

A mentor, friend, legend and racer, these things are what make Doc Hudson so Fabulous, truly my favourite character in all of Cars. I wish i could back to 2008, look at myself watching this movie as a baby, and tell myself all the wonderful things about him.

I was glad they gave Doc Hudson a beautiful send-off in Cars 3. I know alot of folks don't care for Cars franchisee. Car 1 was good, indeed Cars 2 stunks, Car 3 was alot worth a see. Two out of three isn't a bad track record.
