No, the stimulus package will not impact Medicare benefits.

    What good is Medicare?

For some beneficiaries 65+, it's the only healthcare they can afford. Since you pay into Medicare through your working taxes, you might as well use the benefits.

Is there anything specific you're confused about that I can help clarify?

FICA Federal Insurance Contribution Act is Medicare taken out of your paycheck and held for you until you get 65. YOU PAID FOR IT, IF YOU WORKED AT LEAST 10 YEARS.

Hi Richard! Premium-free Part A has not changed, as long as you paid into Medicare for 40 quarters it's free. That's the only part of Medicare that's "free."

Thank you for your comment, Richard, and we understand your frustration. We aren't Medicare; we're a Medicare resource center, so we can't change their policies. Our goal is to try to help people understand their Medicare coverage so they can save as much time and money as possible in the future.
