I went on disability in 2009. My company put me in Medicare and other default coverage. I had Medicare deducted from my default disability paycheck and also had LTD insurance. I am still kind of stuck in their plan. My out of pocket cost keep going up. I'm not saying a little but a heugh amount.
Best explanation I seen so far. Our health care should be this complex.

They leave the choice up to the agent as to what is best for them. I have been studying the choices for many months now and it seems to be the Medicap G plan is just about the best plan. What am I missing? Your thoughts are appreciated!

    • @elgringoec

That plan chart (~14:55) shows 80% coverage of foreign travel emergency (however that's defined) under the part G medigap option.
If you choose that, you'd want to investigate what that covers.
And you still may want to purchase some dedicated insurance for when you travel, depending on your analysis of your risk profile.
Or just put it in las manos de Dios.
Not sure why she hasn't responded to your question in four months but I figured I'd throw my two cents in. Hope it helps.

I wonder if you could help me with a question - suppose a person had 55 days of hospital+SNF stay and was discharged, and was readmitted within the same benefit period. Once the person is readmitted, given that it is the same benefit period, I understand that they do not need to pay the deductible again, but for the coinsurance, will the first day of readmission be considered as Day 56, or Day 1? As soon as you retire you can submit an appeal for these IRMAA charges. Below the video you'll find a link to a video that explains this in more depth, as well as the actual IRMAA appeal form that you can fill out and submit. If you need any assistance, let us know! (888) 465-9728

Would it be possible now, August 2021, to change Medicare plans from UHC Advantage Walgreens HMO to any other PPO so my 84 yo spouse could have better options for health care facilities like nursing homes, acute care hospitals?

For some folks this subject is easy ' but for others it can be a complex nightmare.
Every year Medicare automatically enrolls Medicare recipients into the next years heath plan they see fit for that particular recipient automatically.
When Medicare does this ' do they automatically assign the recipients to the medicare plan that has the RX plan in it-- (original medicare)?
(Example would be the plan on left side of your drawing/chart in your video ).
    Or '
Does the recipient need to request to be placed in the
    "Medicare Advance"
    plan ?
I think I'm in the original medicare plan because of monthly premium and monthly RX premium.
I still want a supplement plan ' but l have a feeling l might be only eligible for an insurance underwritten type plan ?
I need help ' l'm going to call you this coming week. Thankyou for your very educational videos.. 👍⚘

Sorry, there is no understanding how Medicare works. I just had to cancel my Medicare because I was forced to pay three months ($450) in advance. I was told then that I could sign up for automatic payments on a monthly basis and it would start before my three months coverage ended, so I was pleased. I then got another bill for $450 to pay three months in advance. I told them that I was assured by their representative that monthly payments would begin on my next billing. They said, no because this would only start AFTER the last billing period and this was two days ago, so I'd have to pay another $450. I am not insured and dropping Medicare now. I will not pay three months in advance. This system is a scam.
