      Hi there, thanks for the comment.
      Still have a few 406s, the 2.2 HDi is being used every day and the 3.0 V6 is up for sale. The 2.0 is in hibernation.
      2.2 Petrol in the 406 would be an interesting choice 170bhp if i recall correctly?

    • @SzwarcuKX5
      @SzwarcuKX5 Před 5 lety

      BHP wise is a kind of story this. Some engines have a head from GTI engines (2 liter from 206 or 306 .... I don't remember exacly) and they have 170 BHP even if papers say 158 or 163. Ones that don't have GTI head, have around 160 :)
      Service box says, that mine has 170 BHP and the GTI head which is cool I guess :P And it sounds brilliant when you rev it high.

    thanks, very usefull video. my injectors are just fine, ( 2 with 14.8 ohms, 1 with 5.1 and the other with 5 ohms). changed the sparklers, and coils, but the problem presist. no lights on the dashboard! next step, will be checking the exhaust pipe. my troubles started after I changed the exhaust pipe. maybe the mechanics left something inside, which is blocking it, or maybe the catalyst. I don't know anymore... very fustrating.
    but thanks to you, I could go through the injectors. thank you so much.

    Thanks, i cleaned the Injectors of my clio 3 1.4 16v using this video. Used MAP-sensor cleaner, 9v battery+electrical wires (to open the injector) and some electrical tape on the MAP-sensor cleaner pipe to create a seal/pressure for cleaning it.

    • @peugeotCitroen2CV
      @peugeotCitroen2CV  Před 3 lety

      Ah, you basically flushed out the injector sounds like a very good idea that, thanks for the comment.

    • @Graoeye
      @Graoeye Před 3 lety

      @@peugeotCitroen2CV I cleaned them for fun.. (covid-19 time is sometimes boring) 2 injectors were a tiny bit dirty, after cleaning they had nice 'jets'.
      For cleaning the injectors, i used MAP/MAF-sensor cleaner. I put electrical tape around the spray tube of the MAP/MAF-sensor cleaner to make it fit into the top of the injector and create pressure.. After that i connected a 9v battery with 2 electrical wires to the injector so it opened and simply sprayed the cleaner trough the injector until it was clean.
      i also replaced the intake gaskets, they seemed to be really old... thanks for you help :-)

    Hi! Thanks for your video. I have one question, two of my injectors are leaking: if I turn the ignition on and start the fuel pump I can see fuel dripping from the injectors. These injectors where recently replaced by a workshop, while the original injectors still work good. Do you think they might be failing because they are dirty?

      Hi there,
      From memory when i replaced the injector on this car there was no programming required, i think the diesels require it but this petrol did not. A fault code reader will say something such as out of calibration if that is required.

      Regarding the injector cables, they are generally a specific length to reach each injector, it is quite hard to get them to stretch to adjacent injectors?

  • @gambero972
    @gambero972 Před 3 lety

    Nice video! For those replacing the spark plugs, here's a tip: put a bit of copper grease on the threads of the plug. It will prevent it from ceasing with the engine block, and will allow easier removal next time :) And do like him, don't over tight them, as it's the engine's block threads (aluminium).

    • @peugeotCitroen2CV
      @peugeotCitroen2CV  Před 3 lety +1

      It is worth paying attention to the instructions from the spark plug manufacturers, a lot are already coated. NGK for example do not recommend cooper grease on them

    I assume that you also could measure resistance of the injectors through this connector at 8:46 before removing the intake manifold. Testing coil for spark can be done with test light connected to ground.

    • @peugeotCitroen2CV
      @peugeotCitroen2CV  Před 4 lety

      Hi, i think you need to pay more attention to the 1.5 there are different states of tune and variations between the years. Never actually changed an injector on one but i suspect they may need diagnostic equipment to calibrate the ecu for the new injector. Best to ask perhaps on the clio owners club.

  • @stephaniesheridan5474
    @stephaniesheridan5474 Před 3 lety

    Did you empty the fuel from the fuel rail? I drained mine so I could take it indoors (same car), and now I'm worrying that draining it was a mistake. Never changed an injector before so I'm a bit panicky ha

    • @peugeotCitroen2CV
      @peugeotCitroen2CV  Před 3 lety +1

      The fuel in the rail would have leaked out, there is no real worries about bleeding the fuel system the electric fuel pump will do all that the first time the ignition is turned on you will hear the pump whirr, turn the ignition on and off a few times just to let the pressure build back up then start the engine.

    why did it produce smoke after installing the injectors back?

    • @peugeotCitroen2CV
      @peugeotCitroen2CV  Před 5 lety +1

      The WD40 used to clean up the surfaces where the inlet manifold and injector went. It was just burning this off. The smoke cleared after a few minuites and did not come back.

      Dirt could potentially cause one injector to fail but not enough to trigger an EML.
