Probably worth adding that each of the screens you choose can be configured for whatever info is going to be most important for different tasks or phases of the dive and it's super easy to set up on the DM5 App. I find the battery life very good and even on High brightness I get 27 hours out of a full charge; most users could charge it just once a week on a dive holiday and still have some spare.
@@reverse7165 They are just different beasts. Garmin - an all day every day multifunction watch. Suunto a dedicated highly programmable with a larger screen. Apple and Oranges.
Bought a Eon Steel Classic, with a Pod, for $700, used, as an upgrade. Big and heavy but much better than my wrist computer. Dive 5 times a year so I dont need, and cant afford, a Shearwater
Heard that it is great but not top reliable. Depth sensor sometime goes wrong and things like that and that is why people chose Perdix. Do you know if they solved the problem?

As a side note, Suunto was sold by Amer Sports, previous owner, to the Chinese company Liesheng.
Thanks for letting us know.
I’ll never buy a Suunto product again now!
Time to find a new brand
Ugh!
@@TomWilding1 why can't you still buy it?
@@fatphoca5009 go use a shearwater
Just got mine. I also have the Garmin Descent Mk2i. Also an epic computer. The Suunto is an early leader based on customization.

You can get those models on the normal steel, you just have to send it off to Suunto for the update.

Looks good, but a bit big for my taste.
Then get the eon core ;)
@@Tapio86 Still pretty big!
@@pauldawson2902 the eon core isn’t too big. Smaller than a perdix…I just wish you could change the algorithm on the core like you can on the steel.
Zoom in on the item at hand and stop showing that dude just talking !
