Dude playing bass looks like he’s trying to kidnap chipmunks
Gregor & Lars: It's awesome the combination of energy, enthusiasm, fun & info that is delivered in these 4 minute U-Tubes. Great job as you both complement each other very well. Thx.
I think they left the headstock in the crude shape -
which looks for me like a cleaver (Hackbeil) -
to allow a bit of customization other than painting the body.
Looks cool and for 100 bucks you can't expect too much from the sound. Would have liked to have seen the headstock being shaped. I've always been tempted to build one myself, so thank you for sharing.
welcome back, Gregor. Nice to see that you are doing better!
Super fun build, love the stickers 👏🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
Love this idea. Great job.
Looks great! I did a Precision style sticker bass after seeing your original video. A lot of this is common sense but a few mistakes were made and learned from!
1. Separate your stickers into those you like and those you dislike. Use the ones you aren't bothered about to create a "base". Layer the stickers you want to be more visible over the top of this base.
2. Cut into the stickers that wrap around the curves of the body, this makes them easier to layer and the adhesive will hold much better if they're flat against the body.
3. With a sharp blade cut the stickers where they over-lap your neck slot or pick up recess.
4. Apply a coat of resin over the top of your stickers, this will harden the stickers and ensure they hold in place with no corners peeling over time.
5. Lastly, apply a few coats of lacquer over the top of the stickers to really help bring out their shimmer and shine.
Great ideas and at the price it's so worth doing to make a bass that is 100% customised to your own style
Thanks for the tips. You must have read my mind.I think it looks so cool and I'm thinking of doing this.
@@kevmac1230 If you do post a video and show it off when it's done!
First let me say, glad your back up and running. I'm glad your doing better. I like the bass. And think it sounds really good.👍
Glad to see you healthy and well Gregor! -Best wishes Brent, VT USA
I built on of these and I like the pick ups a lot!!
Love my diy Harley Berton P-bass ❣️❤️❤️
I built the p version.
great cutting the headstock learned a few new techniques to get it right and it looks ace.
needed a little fretwork but most basses seem to.
cut the nut a tiny bit deeper
finished in tru oil and with a bit of filing managed to get a mex p bass black scratchplate to fit.
plays really nicely and sounds great.
down points....a bit neck heavy and the tone control does not make a huge difference ... easy to sort with upgraded parts.
may add a heavy high mass bridge to balance a bit.
but it's a lot of fun, I'd gig it!
Welcome back! 🙂
Don't let the friendly happy coat fool you, keep this snarling beast away from children, once bitten they might turn into monster bassists! Haha
Lovely job 😆
Good to see you back in your feet bud.
I LOVE THAT BASS!
VERY NICE
Pleased to hear you are bit better, get well soon
I think the headstock may be a Fender trademark thing. Anyway, I have had my eye on those kits for a while, I may have to build one now... 😀
I'm excited to make a kit bass and put my own spin on the headstock. Nothing too crazy lol
What is that thunderbird shaped Bass behind you? Looks wild.
Nah, shaping the headstock is kinda cool
All the Stickers in the Bass make it look Fleas esque
where did you guys get those stickers? xD
Looks like a blast working with your kids to make something cool. Also, Lars could probably put strings on Harry Potter’s broom and make it sound good. Just saying! Well done. : )
I want to be any BASS in the hands of Lars or René ;-)
And... all the best health wise for you Gregor!
Are all the body's the same? Or is that one a custom finish you did yourself?
Nevermind lol. I guess I should've checked the link before opening my mouth too ask questions haha
Man that Lars can play! :)
Swap the pups out for Delano pups. I think I will look into one.
Liked the part when he said the headstock looks like a brick! Hilarious 😆 Harley Benton has got get that sorted!
I bet they made headstock "shapeless" in order not to deal with Fender licensing.
That’s not the issue, you just have to change it up a bit, as they do it on other Harley Benton’s
Amaranth is purple, isn't it?
Purpleheart, yes. But it’s obviously not that at all. Purpleheart has a natural purple color
Homer Simpson bass 🤗🤗🤗🤗😊😉😘👍🏻
