As an 87 yr old US Marine Veteran, seeing her accomplish that feat sent chills thru my body. It’s my favorite sport & I loved watching it. I saw her when she first started when my favorite was Yuliya Levchenko, Cunningham, Lasitskene, & then Mahuchikh
Yaroslava is truly wonderful. What strikes me is the support from the other competitors. Reminds me of the pole vault guys embracing Duplantis whenever he sets a world record. It really is a beautiful thing....
Untouchable by any other competitor. She can still lose on a bad day but no one can touch a record that only she can break. The HUGE difference between her and the other competitors must be very disheartening to them. The men's high jump record holder is 193 cm tall, which is taller than world average, but not really an outlier. You will find 7-10 taller people on any given NBA court.
