    I am always enthralled to see how thin the little flakes of sole are - translucent, particularly on a light colored hoof. Also, I understand the reason you hold your knives so the “business end” is closer to your little finger - leverage for being able to precisely remove those thin slices….but still, that just seems backwards to me, compared to how one uses the handles of other tools. Lovely, precise work - thank you for sharing!

    Another comment about those of you who think it’s painful it is not. Think of the hoof as the horses finger nail. When you clip your nails it does not hurt and you don’t feel any pain in the nail (if u do get that checked out) and it’s same for the horses they do not feel a thing ❤️❤️❤️

      There's a US based farrier channel called S&S Horseshoeing that may be able to best answer your question.
      If you were in NSW, Australia, I'd tell you to look at TAFE NSW courses for Farrier work and Blacksmithing. You may need to go to a regional TAFE. Like Scone. But if I remember, they also ran TAFE NSW students out of Sydney race courses. Mostly Randwick.

    • @voidify3
      @voidify3 Před 2 lety +1

      No, if the horse was in pain it would stop him- horses are very vigilant animals and have powerful legs that can kill a human with a kick. So the fact that the horse is letting him do this proves the horse is not in pain, all the cutting and burning is just on hoof material which is the equivalent of fingernails
