Not exactly something new to me as I get to see this almost every week at our stable, but it's never as aesthetically pleasing as this. No talking, just sounds, i love these videos so much, calms me down like nothing else. And always such well behaved horses, i love it!
I love the way you flip your paring knives. Makes everything look so clean and smooth. Also, your horseshoes look so beautiful once they're done! Nice work.
The smoke from the shoe being pressed on the hoof when hot makes me feel like I’m watching Stars In Their Eyes. Tonight Matthew, I’m going to be a horse.
Beautiful work! I know this may seem like a frivolous request, but could you let us know the name of the horse you're working on? You could just include it in the video title, like "Horse Hoof Restoration! (Blackie)" If it's not too much trouble...!
The shoe is much bigger and you trim the frog right back. I assume it evens the load out and stops the frog from stone bruising. Love watching your work.
You’re doing an incredibly fantastic job. Hats off for that. Have you ever accidentally cut yourself on your tools? Because pardon my French, they look hella sharp to me. And also, why do you sometimes hammer beside the horseshoe before directly hammering on the horseshoe? Just a bit curious :)
Your lower back muscles must be massive. Nando's would not buy you for chicken strips! :) Never saw the hot shoe on the hoof. First time I saw it my eyes popped open then thought, "That's genius."
Just curious at 5:13 what’s the purpose of carving out that small portion in the front? I realize that it’s to fit that part of the shoe on, but why they need to add that part to the shoe? I’ve never seen it explained.
The intro just screams middle aged white dad yelling at you in the middle of Home Depot because you got him the flat head inside of a Phillips head screwdriver
What does that process do around 9:53 which pinching and filing and clamping the end of the nails? Does that just help it stay in there and then filed to look pretty?
Sometimes you're researching for a centaur character that lives with other centaurs and is the blacksmith and farrier in the town... and end up wondering if that now makes him both a foot doctor and a cobbler too.
No, not at all. Domesticated horses need this done in order to live a happy life pain free. It is the same as you trimming your fingernails. You can feel it, but it doesn't hurt (unless you get it too short).
Nope. But you still have to be careful you don’t overdo it because that could potentially hurt the horse. But normal duties they do does not hurt the horse

Why do we need to know the name of the horse?
@@Lomon_0 We don't "need" to know the horse's name, but knowing it makes it more personal for those of us who love horses! That's all...
@@DonnaMSchmid I guess he could say something at the beginning of the video
@@Lomon_0 Yeah, or even just put it in the description or title, if he remembers...
YEEEESSS
It’s soooo quiet. Do you ever forget for a split second you have an actual horse behind you. Lol! Weird question I know.
Yeah, the cooperation from the horse is unbelievable
In your whole part of being a Farrier, have you ever made a hoof bleed, by cutting to short?
Why do you press the the horseshoe while it’s still hot on the horse , is it to sort of locate where you want to place it ?
Ig to check the shape, perfectly fits to it's leg or not :)
Its like youre carving a chocolate bar

Idk if you just sharpened your tools or that horse’s hoof was just super easy to scrape but that was so good!!
100% satisfactory
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Proper tradesman
He make it looks so soft as chocolate
nice
How do you know how much to trim?
And how do you keep all four hooves even, so one's not longer/shorter and the horse gets wobbly?!
I have a question . How did he teach the horse to stay calm while he is doing his work ?
Horses are not tough to this, some of them just stay calm and let the man do his job, and other horses never stop moving
You’re doing an incredibly fantastic job. Hats off for that.

I think hammering ON the horseshoe will further drive the nails into the softer tissue
Probably helps with the rhythm of hitting the shoe quickly. And helps get the shoe in the right place
Perhaps it's just to make it hella satisfying coz It does

It will come a stage where horses will have their hooves coloured :)
What happens with the old horseshoes after they are taken off the horse's feet? Do they get melted down and recast?

well it‘s so the nails don‘t stand out and the horses don‘t hurt themselves or others, at least that would be my first guess
love farrier
Me watching this: wow horses built different 😂😂

hey mate, what shoes are these ?
Did this horse have its hoof in a fire? Damn. Those things are dark as all hell
