I'M A DATABASE TECHNOLOGIST & PROGRAMMING ENGINEER AND CAN TELL YOU WITH CERTAINTY THAT YOU SHOULD NOT BE WARY OF APPS THAT ASK FOR THESE TYPES OF PERMISSIONS... (for the most part)
When creating an app like that (social media) it's basically impossible not to ask for most of those permissions. If they didn't, then the app would have 0 functionality. I haven't seen all the permissions for this particular app, but from what I saw in this video, it's not AT ALL out of the ordinary... In fact, I'm surprised it didn't have more...
Don't get me wrong though, there are some slimy app developers that overstep their bounds and gain more access than they need in order to siphon and sell your data... For example, apps like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc... but I doubt anyone uses those... right?
You want a real scare? Go look at the permissions for "Messanger" (Facebook's messaging app)... THOSE are the kinds of permissions that should raise a few eyebrows...

They all harvest PII and other personal info at a disgusting rate and scale that if you ever had the chance to see exactly what was being collected, you'd never touch a phone ever again lol. And judging based on the permissions I saw in this video, Nemses isn't doing that anywhere near as bad as most of the social media apps out there.
