    How much of a good idea do you reckon this job is to attempt for your first micro soldering job.

    I have the same issue. I’m located in Venezuela, where can I send the phone to repair and much will it cost ?

  • @Lints77

    Had this issue in January 2022 with an IPhone 7 that was with my sis (which is still fast to very this day I find). However, I wanted to see whether doing the reflow first would solve the issue before trying the reballing/ jumper fix route. Applying flux and using a heat gun solved the problem in my case. I am pretty sure that the battery degradation (heat) is the culprit.

    OK , where do you get a wire as fine as that joining wire for the missing pad? I found the finest hook up wire i could and used one strand and that looked like it was 4 times as thick as your wire. Also , when heated again , what stops the new track pad wire from moving ? Do you glue it in place and if so, what glue is that small?

    • @iTouch-repair
      @iTouch-repair  Před 3 lety

      Hi, I am using a phone's speaker coil. I would recommend the upper speaker because it has a smaller coil and a thinner wire you can use.
      And yes, I use a special glue (or a mask) as we call it in the business.
      it can handle high temperatures and it doesn't smell when heated.
      you can search for it on aliexpress or if you have an electronic store in your town.

      Many thanks for the fast reply . I am only doing this as an exercise to see if a normal person ( as opposed to yourself with superhuman powers ) can do it .
      Obviously I wouldn’t need much special glue . Can I use anything else to tack it there. I’m also amazed how it stays there when you solder it .
      One other thing , how did you clean all the board so well? Is it alcohol on the cotton wool to clean old flux off ?
      Your solder wick must also be miniature as normal solder Wick is way larger than the ic pad .

    • @Dentinvent
      @Dentinvent Před 3 lety

      One more question,
      Is it a iPhone 7 Plus mechanical pcb fault that that pad breaks off or is it vibration from dropping the phone that does not help the situation ?

    • @iTouch-repair
      @iTouch-repair  Před 3 lety +1

      @@Dentinvent well it’s both, it’s a factory fault that leads to this problem when dropping the phone.
      But in many cases it’s a factory fault. I had many phones that doesn’t show any signs of fall or hit and there was no sound.

    • @iTouch-repair
      @iTouch-repair  Před 3 lety +1

      @@Dentinvent well any other glue when heater it will come of. You can try nail polish, it drys under an ultraviolet lamp so you need that kind of glue.
      As for the soldering wick you can cut it to make it smaller so it can fit the chip.

    Whats the heat temperature for unsold the ic chip and whats the temperature to solder back ?

    • @iTouch-repair
      @iTouch-repair  Před 5 lety

      on each soldering station is different temperature you need to set minimum temperature and exercise on an icloud motherboard and see what is the perfect temperature for removing and soldering it back (which will be lower temperature than removing)

    Can some one give me a full detailed description of hw the audio ic affects the device ?

    • @iTouch-repair
      @iTouch-repair  Před 6 lety +1

      Hi, yes of course.
      the problem is that apple have made all of their iPhones like this.
      like this means that the phone wont be able to boot anymore with out the touch ID and the front camera flex that also has the light sensor and the stereo headset.
      And when this pin is damaged or disattached from the board which makes the audio IC not connected to the CPU so the CPU thinks that the front facing camera is not connected and this stops the phone from turning on.
