    I have 2010 Kioti CK20 HST. Even this machine is just a tad under powered for "Moving" those sized stumps. Digging out wasn't a problem going down an 8" bucket. I developed a little trick to move them. Find a strong pallet and fab some sled skis with 2 x 4's and cut the ends at 30 degrees 45 will work but 30 won't cut into the soil as much. Attach them to the bottom of the pallet. Once the stump is out of the hole you can get the stump on it with some bucket finesse. You'll be able to pull or actually slide your stump close to your dumping site. I could not pull or push big stumps anywhere until I did this, and my machine weighs about 2800 lbs with loader and backhoe. Nice vid thanks for posting.

    That is a project! Too late now, but Diablo has a carbide pruning saw for a reciprocating saw that might have saved your chainsaw chains. Working on some big stumps of my own with my own 1025r. I've found it to be quite the versatile little tractor for my needs.

      Yeah that was a huge job at the time I wasn't really thinking CZcams video or I would have had better coverage but you're right on the saws I ended up using my Sawzall quite a bit along with every other cutting tool known to man but we got the job done kind of wished I would have had a bigger tractor at the time but we got it out of there

    When it comes to large stumps you are better off to rent a small excavator or hire someone with a commercial backhoe. It’s faster and puts less wear on your own equipment.

    • @70elco28
      @70elco28  Před rokem

      No doubt about that if I ever have to do it again that's what I will do but I had the machine so I used it, lessons well learned an excavator sure would have made short work of that job

      @@70elco28 My Kubota dealer was honest when I purchased my B Series with Backhoe. He told me most people put a backhoe on compact tractors for stumps but the machines just are not big enough for large stumps. 8” or less is efficient with a compact in my mind.

    • @70elco28
      @70elco28  Před 5 lety

      Yeah the front loader was nowhere near strong enough to handle lifting any of these stumps the rear bucket I didn't try to lift it I just was trying to pull it out the tractor itself couldn't even pull the big stump out I had to use a pickup truck and a chained it was way too much for this little tractor to handle

      @xtruckerbob Před 5 lety

      Chris Dowing bamboo is hard to kill but it is possible. The wife and I just killed over an acre. It has been gone for over a year in fact we mow that area like our yard. First we cut down the bamboo and burn it. Then we bought a subsoiler for our Kubota L2600 (I really needed a 75 hp.tractor but didn't have one.) and we went over the area 15 to 20 times north and south then east and west. Went went down 15 to 18 inches with the subsoiler. Then we picked all the roots and started over again and again and again and again till there were no roots left. The problem is the bamboo is hard to get out of the ground. Some of the roots are the size of a small pineapple and the other are like a can or worms big as a hoe handle. Where there was a large group of bamboo the roots are matted together and can be the size of a pickup truck bed. It took us about 3 months working steady. The roots I could not get up with a subsoiler I used the backhoe our BX23D. Good luck and remember be patient and don't give up. If there is a 3 inch long root it will sprout.
