I loved Craig when he was on with Boomer And he and Evan were great too The guy is definitely entertaining I know he has a lot of haters I’m definitely not one of them
I stopped listening to WFAN after 30 years because Carton came back. Had nothing to do with his off the field antics. Just never thought his comedy act was any good on a sports talk show.

I'd say Carton's schtick worked far better paired with Boomer than with Evan. Boomer's pro athlete status checked Carton's cocky frat boy act, whereas with Evan, Craig mostly just belittled the guy. And far too often it happened that Evan wanted to get back to talking sports and Craig nixed it. It's a good thing for Evan to get away from Carton, but I'm not sure Tiki is the best partner for him.

I've read many posts on reddit & other YT channels regarding Carton leaving WFAN, and not ONE person has brought this up about Evan up until this point.... While I'm more or less indifferent on Carton, had it not been for Carton, there's a very good chance Evan would've been podcasting somewhere after "Joe from Saddle River" (aka Joe Benigno) retired....
To sum it up, people are overrating Evan Roberts because they're letting their disdain for Carton cloud their judgments.
Agreed. Station seems to love Evan, but he is probably better suited for the midday time slot. Not a big time talent.
@@waynepreston542 they don't have much of a choice to love him. in terms of pure sports talk, he's really all they got. at the same time, singularly, he's not afternoon drive worthy.
if/when he teams up with tiki, I don't see that show lasting very long. matter of fact, I don't see evan on wfan for too much longer either. WFAN needs evan more than he needs them.
...and wait until when boomer retires. morning drive is going to be in absolute shambles also.

@@brando7266 I'll never forget Evan boasting of having hit a homerun as a kid in organized ball (studio group topic, neither Craig, Big Mac or Lougie had hit one), and it turning out on further questioning that it was in truth a pick-up game, with Evan at age sixteen and the boys in the outfield around age ten, and that the ball didn't clear a fence but rather was a long roller that the ten year olds struggled to get back to the infield. One of Evan's cringiest moments.
Craig's work ethic. Please the guy makes millions of dollars and is paying off debts which he created.
The idea that he came on to discuss his departure and brings up being unpaid for 9 months by the FAN is garbage, b/c he is making millions from Fox. Hard to feel sorry, when you are being paid what he is being paid. Boomer and Gio supporting Carton isn't surprising given they are colleagues.

It's evident that a WFAN media team is not very good when you find yourself preferring one member (albeit slightly) over the other, but still considering both to be subpar. Personally, I had a slightly favorable opinion of Carton but strongly disliked Roberts.
I really like Evan, I had a hard time listening with Craig. They got good numbers though as far as I know, so maybe I'm in the minority.
Please, up against Kay on ESPN??.. repeats of Mike & the Mad dog could beat Kay

I understand people not enjoying listening to Carton. But the comments here mocking a man who is clearly following guidelines for his parole are abhorrent. I'm sorry no one in your life forgave you for you misdeeds, but there no excuse for you to hate a person you don't even actually know.
I for one, will miss the humanity he brought by openly addressing his sins, over and over. Additionally, the way he openly expressed love for his kids, regularly. It was nice to hear a grown man talk that way.
Is he raunchy. But commuters don't want to hear the same 107yo baseball fans calling to talk about the same game from 1928.
I get the dislike of Carton. I would say in regards to his misdeeds Carton often explains them away as the result gambling addiction and getting involved with the wrong people. That's not what he served time for. I agree that he's a talented entertainer, but the pairing with Evan was not ideal, too often he belittled Evan (often aided by Evan's own cluelessness), and when Evan wanted to shift discussion back to sports, away from "guy talk" (was OnlyFans a Carton sponsor?), frequently Carton nixed it. While I enjoy Carton's schtick, it shouldn't exceed 30% of air time, it's sports talk radio, and yet lately it's been in the range of 75% dominant. That said, I suspect we could see a large drop in ratings for Evan and Tiki.
I would just add that Carlton also seemed to be giving away "too many gifts" to the guys in his show, especially in the beginning, as if he was trying to buy off them to like him.

Questions to ponder.
Why do Al and Jerry still have a morning show? When Al knows next to nothing about sports?
Why is there a need for an update person on the morning show every 30 minutes - nothing has changed from sports since the prior update, right?
Why does everyone at this AM show feel the need to laugh all the time at what Gio says/does when its not humorous at all?
How did Gio get this job, when he offers so little?
