Gregg Giannotti, currently co-host of “Gio & Jones” on CBS Sports Radio, has been named co-host of the newly renamed WFAN morning show, “Boomer & Gio,” alongside Boomer Esiason.
Boy o boy, it's tough to watch Jerry Recco through this. Jerry worked his a** off to get the anchor gig on the WFAN morning show, probably deserved it, and he was passed over for a guy 9 years younger than him. He was obviously pissed, but he tried to hold his head up the whole time. Class act.
Yeah, but gianotti is more talented in that role. It's a major show in the biggest market in the country. It's not Morning Drive in Houston. Jerry would be fine for that. In New York he's an update/fill in guy and it's all he'll be here.
What a terrible punishment to get the gig in Houston, the fourth largest city in the country I tend to doubt he'd be to upset. And Steve Sohmers sucks, so repetitive and drowsy, his show would be perfect in a farming area.
Chernoff fucked this up big time... Jerry Recco was the obvious choice; paid his dues being the update guy for 8-9? years and chemistry wise was the best fit for the entire crew. Slap C-Lo in the update chair, decisions smartly made.
Termo Jerry was the best available option to keep the shows chemistry slightly in tacked. I feel like this other guy was chosen because he's good at Mike/Chris imitations. Ala craig. Sometimes you can't duplicate greatness.
This dude is just NOT funny. And quite frankly, neither is Boomer. Boomer was good because of Carton. Between this new morning show guy and that afternoon disaster they announced to replace Mike, I have one thing to say, RIP WFAN! 😢

People don't realize how talented Gio is. it's a hard position to fill. So this was not easy. Boomer dosent get enough credit to make the transition smoother ... Eddie and Al are the greatest talent that know one knows about. well it's about time NYC knows and gets to hear how talented you both are. Eddie is the Yoda on that sound board. Al has been part of so many successful radio shows. Al Dukes is a fucking star. Jerry is the greatest update guy pulling tape ever ever. Jerry is a man of so many talents He can host the number 1 after morning show on on a win and also be responsible for holding the clue to number one NYC morning radio show I love this show so much. Jerry, Eddie, Al , Boomer. You all have been amazing. I thank you all so much for entertaining me every morning while I'm at work.
Yeah, it sucks to find out you didn't get the job. Most of us go through that. Jerry is too boring to be the lead of a major show. He's an update guy. But I can almost guarantee you he won't be the update guide for that long. That's just too awkward. It's like working with a guy stole your wife.
I appreciate Boomer's loyalty to Carton, but the latter was a vulgar, misogynistic jerk and the Fan sounds much better without him. Don't lose heart Jerry! You're in a good set-up with CBS Sports and there's a lot of opportunity down the line. And now that the morning show has become "diverse" like Boomer said, you can come out now Al Dukes!

Used to watch the old show for like 4-5 years straight, everyday. The whole wfan is being handled very poorly in my humble opinion. My fellow Devil fan got passed over ( boomer, rangers suck). This show will not get good ratings, one year from now boom will be counting the days till he can reunite with scam boy.

Should have been Jerry!!! The show has actually been better with Carton gone and Jerry with Boomer.
