Why I'm (Somewhat) Disappointed With Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2's Newcomers

- The full roster for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 was announced very recently, and naturally, there would be several new characters joining the brawl. Although I am very excited for both the game and the newcomers that they chose to put in, there's one noticeable problem that I have with the newcomers for the game.

Honestly, I don't have a problem with the new characters. They're really cool and unique. I really love them.

I just dislike the emphasis of the crossover aspect. Nickelodeon cheaping out on Timmy, no songs from the shows, limiting skins, no original character interactions(first game), etc.
Limiting skins ? Everyone here has seemingly 2-3 skins each, its insanely good compared to Smash or any fighting game to be real (excluding dlcs)

@Waltersop You have to pay for the ultimate edition if you want the best skins for each character. And they only have 2 unique skins, which is way worse then 8 color swaps imo
I also agree with this. I llike most of the cast (love El Tigre's inclusion) but it feels like there was so much potential with the roster considering it's an "All Star" game. Did we really need 2 Hey Arnold reps one including Grandma Gerdie? We could've had Otis, Fanboy & Chum Chum, and a game original character like Tak.
I do agree that more nickelodeon shows should have been represented. I said this a few times before but I believe more characters like Otis from Back at the barnyard is a good example of bringing in more obscure characters into the game
I think the Barnyard crew really burned that bridge when they started cussing in the recording studio upon cancellation.
I'd be delighted to see Barnyard though. It oozes with Nickelodeon charm.

The DLC roster has been leaked, and no, no new series added to the game.
Well, SO FAR, since leakers stated that 8 DLC fighters, WHICH includes the 4 current leaked ones will be in the game is after launch next year, so the remaining 4 COULD easily be new IPS or old, so its best to keep expectations very low for now.
What's even worse is that even though there are still 4 more dlc slots, all the dlc that we saw, are from the 3 most represented nick toons, lets just hope that 4 new franchises are represented in the 2nd dlc

I honestly don’t have a issue with these newcomers but they seem like they are cool picks, aside from Gerald and Gertie.
I would’ve like to see them including more characters that were owned by Viacom; like Movie Sonic or Bumblebee.
that would be cool, but there are a few issues. 1st this is NICKELODEON all star brawl, so only nick characters can come in. then your suggestions, bumblebee is owned by Hasbro and some other company. And of course SEGA owns Sonic, and for now he's kinda a smash exclusive when i comes to fighting games. again cool ideas but it would never happen.

So I do think Bumblebee could make it into another NASB game. Whether it’s Earthspark Bumblebee or the other versions of the character I don’t know.

This game needs the variety like they should also include some Nick Jr Characters that look like they can fight like Chase,Skye,Swift,Dora,Wubbzy,and Blue The Puppy
But yeah I agree with ur point about more new series being represented. Otis, Snap, Timmy, Fanboy and ChumChum would’ve been such good additions and give it more of a nostalgic feel. I wonder what the devs were thinking when picking the roster. Hopefully in a 2nd wave of dlc we get some of these characters.

Furthermore, you don't seem to understand why they don't put characters from hated series (Nickelodeon has a lot of those) it's simply because of the simple factor that almost no one likes their characters because they are very irritating and even worse with character cuts. If you love those characters, then congratulations, keep loving them and you have just shown that you are the bigger minority I have ever seen in my life.

And sadly the 4 DLC characters for this game is Mr Krabs Zuko Ivoh and Rocksteady non of those characters are from new nicktoons

@xanander4693 Nick doesn't own the rights to the first 5 seasons of the show, Nelvana does so there's legal issues. But timmy appeared in super brawl universe a mobile crossover fighting game and the nick tennis game for mobile as not getting in him is nick being lazy
I would fix the roster by that way:
Keep Spongebob, Patrick, Squidward, Plankton, El Tigre, Rocko, Aang, Korra, Ren & Stimpy, Jimmy Neutron, Danny Phantom, Jenny, Zim, Reptar, Nigel Thornberry, Angry Beavers and Garfield while cutting April O'Neil and Grandma Gertie
Just retain Raphael and put Donatello as a skin, as well as retrieve Leonardo and Michaelangelo as other skins, just like in Injustice 2 where the turtles were skins from each other, with their own animations based on their weapons
Speaking of skins, keep Gerald but as Player 2, while Player 1 is Arnold, just to stop treating him as Chrom from the Fire Emblem Series
Demote Azula and Ember as bosses to resguard the more villainous Ozai and Vlad, which are the big baddies to overcome
Replace Lucy Loud with Lincoln Loud as it should have been, as well as bringing back Sandy
Bring Back Oblina and Catdog for more IP representation
And add Mr Krabs and Zuko as Base Roster, while the final spot will be for Reggie from Rocket Power (my personal píck if Timmy is still having the legal issues)
Just cut Garfield so he could be a guest character.

Actually they do IF your referring towards as New IPS or existing IPs, IF you talking newcomers from existing IPs then the will be 2 from Avatar, 1 for TMNT and 1 form Spongebob Squarepants.

This is why I feel like Nickelodeon just needs to do a roster like Smash Ultimate. They have so many shows under their belt that it's just weird to me that they keep giving us small rosters. I just think it's delusional to me that a lot of NASB fans think that All-Star Brawl doesn't need a big roster. Why though ? We're not in the 90s or 2000s anymore where games could only have a certain amount of characters. They should also do the same for the Nickelodeon Kart Racers series as well. Mario Kart 8 and Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled have like over 60 characters in their games. Disney literally does this kind of thing with their crossover games. I think Disney Infinity has like over 100 characters. The roster for their crossover mobile games are insane too. Nickelodeon is just lazy asf and it's annoying. They have money to do big budget games, but they just refuse not to. At this point though, I just don't see it happening. They're just dumb.
Ultimate is a first party game published by Nintendo and developed mainly by Bandai Namco from an over 20 year old beloved franchise. NASB is a shovelware game made in 2 years from GameMill (Rise of Kong publisher) and 2 small studios.

Seriously, how annoying they are with Timmy, all because they don't know that they have problems with the rights of the fairy godparents. Also, why do they want it? As horrible as almost all of its seasons were, the live action movies and the sitcom, they simply ruined the franchise.
I feel like this game would be a great chance to rejuvenate the Fairly Odd parents.
The problem is Butch Hartman.
Everything that made Fairly Oddparents a wonderful show had nothing to do with Butch. I'm calling it right now. The lightning in a bottle were the staff behind the show at it's hayday. Butch has only made the show worse and worse.
All that's left of the show now is garbage. It's not worth it. We can look fondly at what the show used to be. It was great! But those times are over but good. And I hope they stay finished.

OMG! Stop hating on Nelvana for Timmy's absence in Nick crossover games. The real villain here is Game Mill because they are cheap and suck. That's it.
Nelvana just wants their money, but GameMill is a shovelware publisher that spends 80% of the budget in the licenses and 20% in the games. Just look at Avatar Quest for Balance and Rise of Kong. If anything, adding Timmy would be detrimental to the devs.
Actually, Nelvana has nothing to do with the Fairly OddParents.
Nickelodeon owned the rights to Fairly OddParents, Nelvana only co-produced it along with Nick animation.
Plus Timmy Turner has been Nick games for decades. So it’s not because of legal issues.
My only guess as to why he’s not in the base roster, or even the DLC roster if that leak is true… is because Gamemill would rather focus on 90s nostalgia.

Timmy stopped appearing in console games the same year it started broadcasting in some Disney owned channels. It is a rights issue. THQ, for example, released a list of Nickelodeon IPs they can use. FOP was marked as "only in the US".
