a freezing but beautiful sunset hike with my golden retriever

- The road to this hike is usually closed by this time of year, but since we hadn't had any major snowfall yet, the road was still open. I decided to take Nala for a last minute trip and check this one off. We usually do this trail a few times a year, and the last couple times we did it, we got stuck in a pretty nasty thunderstorm on the way down. This time, we were blessed with cold but beautiful sunset conditions, and I am so glad we made the trip out.
P.s. I definitely had a little altitude sickness on the way down but we made it out okay :)
Trail: Bald Mountain 11,943 feet at the summit
Location: Uinta Mountains, Utah
2.7 miles round trip, 1,118 ft elevation change
I teared up watching this. Seriously Nala must be the happiest dog on earth being able to explore the world, living the dog dream, and have someone who enjoys it just just as much as she does by her side. Beautiful video 🧡

I love seeing Nala do her stomps it brings me joy to see how much she enjoys hiking and she is so silly. I love when she gets the zoomies. I am developmentally delayed but I had a service dog but I lost her 4 years ago but I really enjoy seeing Nala and how silly she is. She makes my day.

I don't know if I love the videos OR the love Chris has for his dog more! They are soul mates. The love they have for each other is immeasurable. As someone who recently lost their dog, this has even more of an impact.

I lived in Utah as a child (now in Alabama) and also had a beautiful Golden named Sadie a long time ago. Watching the two of you enjoy life in such a gorgeous setting makes me want to do it all over again... both Utah and another Golden- along with hikes and camping and just living life with the joy and positivity you exude. .
