I never imagined the impostors would be of our own kind in this scenario. I always thought they were evil carnivorous aliens. But the virus corrupted them, giving them energy, but turning them into horrifying monsters.

I like the fact that the imposters are based off The Things from the movie with the same name. Both are basically mutated shapeshifting lifeforms due to an extraterrestrial virus and retain the intelligence of the infected person. However in your iteration of Among Us if a person is mentally strong enough they could still partially have some of their mind and morals intact like Blue.

I'm thinking they are similar in a way to Big Daddies from BioShock to. Built into their suits and can't take off since it's essentially their artificial skin.
It’d be cool if a Secret History made the villains even worse.
For example, A secret history for Izuku having it be revealed that Izuku did have a quirk, it happened to be stolen by All For One who erased everyone’s memory of the quirk.
