Considering in near my mid-50s and havent played any game (board or PC) in re 30 yrs, seeing these types of videos are fantastic as I often find rule books confusing. And even tho I'm in Australia, I'm moving to Europe soon to be with my Mrs who doesn't speak English so I can download the audio, convert to text and convert the text to either her lingo as my level of speech in her lingo is not up to par to explain all the details in this video, or convert her lingo in text to audio and attach it to this video, so she can easily watch it and follow through. A bit of work yet well worth it. Waiting for the day that audio language converters exist. Cant wait to play this game with her

Where did you get those character boards????
From where did DT source the wood dashboard holders, upgraded tokens etc?

@@TheObnoxiousDuck at 5:25 Mike says they’re “upgrades” that Tom used to “bling out” the “library copy” they’re playing with but doesn’t say where it came from. Is that the passage you mean?
They’re on Etsy in an unofficial deluxe bundle with the tokens and other components. Be warned, however, coz they ain’t cheap!

I remember Tom getting them in one of his Boring Unboxing videos from a long time ago, it seems. I feel like he said he got them on Etsy. I know people are saying they found them on there. Plus Chris said in the chat that he thinks that's where Tom got them.
How many views, thumbs etc. would you need to run an actual campaign? You don't need the same people each play so shuffle anyone from the DT team in and out as they can/want. Doesn't need to be on a regular schedule, but just "we're putting in another 2 hours tonight/today join us". I guess the spoilers aspect is what will be a factor to not doing it; also the time commitment, but just some thoughts.
DT have never really done campaigns Im not even certain they could pull it off. IMHO theres only been 2 successful campaign series as such, Geek And Sundry doing their play of Betrayal At House On The Hill Legacy version and Boardgamegeek doing The Initiative
They did play the Pandemic Legacy campaign and have a Gloomhaven series in the stretch goals of the 2022 Kickstarter! But I agree, it is difficult to keep it interesting.
@@aeglosux I find DT good for reviews and funny comments during top 10s but pretty poor for playthroughs Boardgamegeek is the go to option for playthroughs....I just wish theyd be a little more critical in their post-play opinions though as there seems to a reluctance to say anything bad but I suppose that why I like the DT reviews

Why aren't they reading the consequences for failure? Don't the rules specifically state you can read all options and all consequences before deciding?
Why are there eight characters in this three-player game? Is that how it works?

I was really interested in this, but after working our way through Gloomhaven and Forgotten Waters still waiting to be played, I'm ok missing out on this one.
Those that love this game, more power to you. Very little appeal for me at this point.
I love narrative board games with books like this. but this game left me cold. The combat is so nonsensical I couldn't get past it. If someone is too fast or well armoured to hit, attack the slow guy next to them and somehow damage spills over onto the fast guy... like.. what???? Plus the character choices are boring and the lack of dice, using cards instead, is grating on the nerves. Had to shift it on.
You can roll a die instead of pulling cards. In 'fate card' deck there is fewer 1's and 6's.
Group of enemies to fight is designed maybe as important for a story. Sometimes it is one boss and henchmen. And after spending four combat tokens all alive enemies deal extra damage or put a status on character (e.g. poison). I just wanted to point out there is more in game than shown in this playthrough. :)
What an underwhelming game. This is essentially one of those Choose Your Own Adventure/ Fighting Fantasy books deconstructed for a boardgame. Fiddly. v-e-r-y slow.Uninspring yet functional text. Not understanding its appeal whatsoever and people are paying $80 plus for this
It's pretty disappointing, and I'm someone who absolutely loves the CYOA style games and inspired boardgames. This does everything wrong, yet some people seem to love it. I can't stand it!
Completely agree. So slow.
I disagree. The story goes into some wild and interesting directions, choices get more difficult, and the combat and events leave you limping everywhere you go, struggling to survive.
I don't know any story based game that does it better, and I've played a few.
